I've been trying to find a subutex doctor. I used to take oxys, perk 30's and other opiates but then I started subutex. I now have a good job and want to keep it that way! But now any doctor I've called wants to prescribe suboxone first and it makes me sick. it gives me migraines (which I have chronic migraine syndrome so it must be a trigger) a rash and makes me sick to the stomach. Second I have no insurance and its just way too expensive from all the research I've done. Does anyone know of doctors in central PA that prescribe subutex or how I go about getting subutex and not suboxone?? ## I go to a dr in Mobile Al who I adore - its a total judgment free zone but majority staff are lazy and don't return calls - the same ones who are good are amazing! Hi I have been going to a suboxone doctor for a little over a year now, and about 2 weeks ago I went in to my appt and the doc made me sign a paper stating that after September 1st I would no longer be getting prescubed subutext due to the DEA asking questions in their office.. My doctor and I had came to an agreement at the beginning that that's the only thing that works for me! I am in search of a doctor in around or kinda close to Columbus ohio..if anyone can help please let me know ## Hello, Marie! How are you? It is actually a new recommendation from the DEA that Subutex only be prescribed for pregnant women, unless someone is severely allergic to it. Thus, Suboxone is all they are going to be willing to prescribe for you, even if you try a different doctor. The FDA warns that ...

Does anyone know??? I need help? ## Hello, Bev! How are you? They do have a search engine that you can use to check for doctors in your area. You can find it at Suboxone.com click here. It allows you to search by zip code and will provide the doctor's contact information, so you can call them to see if they have patient openings. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm sorry, I should've added that it would be the same doctors, they can usually prescribe Subutex or Suboxone. Subutex doctors in Phoenix, AZ - please and thanks ## Hi Sylvia, According to an article on FDA.gov, "Only qualified doctors with the necessary DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) identification number are able to start in-office treatment for Subutex/Suboxone and provide prescriptions for ongoing medication. CSAT (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment) will maintain a database to help patients locate qualified doctors." My partner was recently given an injection and three day prescription of Buprenorphine/Subutex for severe pain during an ER visit. She is a veteran and suffers from chronic pain and has been years in pain and has managed to suffer without pain medication. After she received the injection and prescription, she realized how comfortable and nice life can be without having to experience severe chronic pain constantly. The Subutex did relieve her pain a great deal. We did talk to the ER doctor whom prescribed the medication and he did not know of a local doctor that would continue her prescription if Subutex for pain management purposes. I too take Subutex but mine is for addiction although I do also experience chronic pain but my partner doesn't fall into the category of being an addict...

I am looking for a doctor who prescribes suboxone in the New Orleans, slidell Louisiana area. I am a single mom with no insurance, can't afford 350 a visit and prescription cost. My kids have medicaid but I don't. Thanks. ## Suboxone treatment is still pretty new, so I am not aware of any doctors that offer cheaper prices, because they do have to maintain special approval and monitoring to treat patients with it. I need to find a doctor to prescribe subutex for pain. Can Doctors in TN prescribe it for pain? If so, what doctors in middle TN do prescribe it for pain? I was on pain pills for years. They don't help any more. Only subutex does. Please help. I'm desperate. ## Hello, Robin! How are you? Yes, any doctor can prescribe it for pain. However, since it is a controlled substance, if you require it on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
