I really truly need someone's help...after many years of surgeries became addicted to narcotics. Now, I have been on suboxone for close to 6 years. I just can't keep doing this...I can't afford it anymore and I am sick of the Dr's. I have tried getting off before and wished for it to be all over! Is there anyone out there who has gotten off Suboxone? And do you have any tips or can tell me if it's possible to get off without going through hell? Thank you in advance ## I just posted almost the same question... I'm looking for advice that I don't already knw but I can tell u what has been helping me... I figured out that a lot of the suboxone w/d is in your head.. Your mind plays games with u and tells u that u need more but u really don't.. I don't kno...

My one year of zubsolv is done 7/1/17. I am terrified and need to taper and quickly. Where do I start ? How can I do this? I have and my 8 year old to care for. Husband passed and only living parent. I want to be a good mother. I only take the zubsolv. I realize now I have been fooling myself. ## It's not as bad as people would have you think. You will feel bad for a couple of weeks. And it will be hard to sleep. But you can find something at the drug store that will help you get by the hard parts. But it's not as bad as you think. ## Thank you kindly for responding. You make me feel so much better. I NEEDED an optimistic approach if I'm to do this. I did find a site "how to get off Suboxone without withdrawals"that seemed to be helpful. Start tapering off, DLPA, oth...

Hello slit has been two days since taking my OXY IR's. I started my suboxone like two mgs and it is wonderful. I don't get any withdrawals and I sleep great. However I still have the craving for the IR. I am filling the script when I get the money but I did not want to go into withdrawals since I ran out. I plan to take them again next week or so but until then I just want to get past thinking about them. My question is my suboxone level to low or is thinking about getting them mentally a part of my brain used to having them? HELP PLEASE!!! ## Yes, it is normal to still think about wanting them, the Suboxone just helps prevent the physical symptoms of being without the drug, it doesn't fix the mental issues for you. However, you aren't going to be able to take the Oxycod...

I took my last sub a week ago as of today. And throughout that week took 3 total 10 MG Lortabs. I tried detoxing before but it was too harsh. I have been taking plenty of vitamins and excersising. I'm wondering how long until I'm in the clear? ## How are you doing? Did you experience any withdrawal problems? The FDA lists withdrawal symptoms as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, rebound pain and diarrhea. What dose were you taking? ## I'm okay. Took a Lortab the other day because I am just so tired of being depressed. I know I shouldn't have but the depression is the worst

Okay. So I have been on Suboxone for about a year and I am just fed up. In my opinion (and I'm sure many others) my doctor is doing it for the money and is not very well read. I have been stuck at 8 mg. sometimes I drop down to 7 but it varies. I have an incredibly fast metabolism. I can't break 100 lbs, I eat constantly, and I'm 22. I go into withdrawal very fast. I have gone through w/d plenty of times. The worst was the last time, when I kicked my opiate habit cold turkey in detox. I refused meds and just went through the motions. It was horrible but over fast. When I have kicked Suboxone, I tend to feel better after three days. But that's just me. I usually get all the normal w/d symptoms with insomnia and rls being the worst. This time is different though. I'm g...

I take 8, 4ml dilaudid a day. This morning I tried to start on suboxone and went into the worst physical withdrawal experience I have ever experienced. I am scared to try again. How long is a safe time frame after my last dose to take the strip? I can't go through that again. ## Hello, Aleesha! How are you? Unless your doctor has instructed otherwise, you must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone. There's no specific time frame that can be given, it van vary from person to person, but it has to be full withdrawal. The FDA classifies Suboxone as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can...

I'm 13 days in withdrawal from Suboxone. I was on 8 mg for almost 2 years after abusing Vic/Perc for a little over year. I was never supposed to be put on this evil s*** and it's caused me to lose everything. I'm currently living in my girlfriends 2 bedroom house with her two kids. They all hate me so I basically hide in the basement thru this hell. Being alone is the hardest part for me. Will it ever end? I'm starting to think I don't want to live anymore ;(. Please help ## Hi Jojo, Sorry to hear about the suboxone withdrawals. You're certainly not alone though, as I've seen a number of other patients posting on here who are undergoing the same "hell" as you called it. And I don't think that's an understatement either. Have you tried getting ...

Surely I'm not the only person reading in shock and disbelief. How is it that so many people are unaware of the basic facts and information regarding bup. I am reading in horror that woman are trying to detox during pregnancy. That is the worst option - it is risking both lives. I also read a question regarding the effectiveness of mixing bup with methadone. Anyone using these meds should know it causes withdrawals, that's the point of bup. I feel lucky to have drug treatment services that are free but able to stand along what is provided to private patients. It's horrible to think of pregnant woman on bup having to come on here to ask for info and not telling their dr in fear of judgement or welfare. What is up with a woman thinking its an option to detox at five mnths preg...

Does anyone have long term experience with Suboxone withdrawal? Mine is really dragging out mentally. It's going on 3 months and I am still shaky, agoraphobic and I feel "stuck." I feel like I'm on about day 5 of an alcohol withdrawal-over the hump but not quite there. It's taking so long & I've GOT to crawl up out of this hole! I'm so frustrated; I don't feel like "ME" ## @niele, Sorry to hear about the drawn out symptoms...I've actually heard rumor of patients still leveling out even 6 months after stopping Suboxone. So it seems to me like the withdrawals and just getting back to normal can possibly take quite a while for some individuals. Perhaps less time for others, depending on various factors. If you have a moment to spare though, I...

ive took 16mg of suboxone for 1 year. i tapered down to 4mg in just 7 days. then i jumped from the 4mg. its been 10 days.NOTHING!? i had mild nasal issues on day 3, but none of the other terrible symptoms.yet...? should i expect it to come this far into it, or did i just become one of the 1% of people that r lucky enough to not have issues? thanks for any replies! and good luck to everyone whos stopping this medicine. i had to stop, it was making me not feel like a person, its like i was void of emotion. anyone heard of anyone getting withdrawals after this long? ## SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU MAY BE LUCKY. I had symptoms at day 2 and they peaked by day 7. then lasted till the 10th day before easing. Im on day 22 and the PAWS are a pain! good luck though, i hope for your sake that you did dod...

Hi there, this is for the people who are on methadone / or Suboxone. I've been on methadone for an opiate addiction, for a year now. My clean date is feb 2, 2015. At first, methadone was the best thing that had ever happened to me. I finally felt normal, and thought I was ready to get my life back on track. Well.. What a lie that was. I was at 75 mlgs of methadone from February 2015-August 2015, then started tapering off at 5 mlgs a week. I have a rapid metabolizer, so methadone never lasted longer than 10 hours in my system. Now I'm at 30 mlgs and I'm living in hell! I'm in constant withdrawal, body aches, sweating, hot /cold, emotional, aggressive... Etc. All I want is to feel normal again, but don't want to be tied on a leash to the methadone anymore! People say t...

My question is I have taken suboxone for awhile now and for the past few months I've been tapering off of them I'm to the point of where about a 4mg strip will last for probably around 10 days. My question is, is that even enough to be helping me or is it all just in my head? I'm just wondering because I'm quitting one way or the other and just want to know if the withdrawals will be as bad as others because of my low doses or if anyone else has tried it this way? All help is appreciated. Thanks... ## If that's all you're taking in a 10 day period, then you most likely won't have any withdrawal effects from stopping. It seems you've already tapered yourself far enough to be done. However, you should know to watch for any withdrawal symptoms, such as chill...

I am on day 8 of suboxone withdrawal. Last night I finally got some sleep after several Nyquil and a lyrical. I took 8 days off of work to go thru this but thought I'd feel much better than I do at this point. I HAVE TO go back to work tomorrow and don't k ow how I'll make it thru. I'm taking vitamins b-6, b12 and ginseng tablets. The RLS has become less severe but the anxiety is at its worst! I started suboxone about a year ago for help to get off 3 year addiction to Norco. I keep reading about weeks/months long wd...really???? I don't know what to do! Any advise on regaining a functioning level of energy and comfort immediately? Just hoping it's possible. ## This is only my suggestion from my experience getting through withdrawal symptoms from opiates. Anytime ...

I've been searching these forums for the past few months, just soaking up as much information as I possibly could. This is my FIRST time actually posting, only in hopes to let others know my story of coming off suboxone so far. I see soooo many horror stories and not very many good stories. I know it scares a lot of people into staying on the drug for even longer because of fear of the painful drawn out withdrawal. The horror stories surely kept me on subs alot longer than I wanted to be on them. I am not discrediting anybody that has had an awfully hard time coming off this drug, it's definitely not easy both mentally and physically. But in my experience it hasn't been as bad as I imagined or have read about. I'll begin with a little background on my drug history. I sta...

Hi all, first time posting. Thanks for reading. I have been on suboxone (will call SB bc I don't like "bupe" or "subs"... they just sound like using talk to me and I'm trying to avoid that, nothing against anyone, just my thing...) So today I woke up, took my spironolactone, wellbutrin, abilify, adderall, provigil, and 2mg SB bc I'm trying to taper off. Then I remembered I'm out of the armor thyroid that I switched to about 6 months ago, so I took my levothyroxine. I then took 2 tylenol, had black coffee, green tea with splenda, and toast. A couple minutes later I used the off brand monostat for a yeast infection I'm sure I have, but haven't been to the md yet, and some hydrocortisone. I also smoked about 1/4 of a cigarette... after a few minutes ...

Hi all, I'm desperately seeking advice. I have decided to come off opiates. I had my last little bit at around 1pm today. The problem is, I have two young babies so it's impossible for me to look after them while in bad withdrawals. The only thing I have to help is Suboxone. Can someone tell me the best way to use the Suboxone to stop/ease the withdrawals? I know I will have to suffer to a certain extent and I understand that I have to wait a while before taking my subs but, please give me the best, most painless way to do this, keeping in mind that I have a two year old and a four month old baby boy whom I still have to take care of on my own while doing this. Please help. ## Getting into a rehab program is the best, but I understand your situation. Try using Kratom. There are ...

I am down to 2mg of suboxone a day for about 6 weeks now, I take 1 mg in am and 1mg in afternoon, at around 11am (7hrs after first dose) I get this terrible headache, I have never had headaches before, it usually goes away in the evening, could this still be a form of suboxone withdrawal? Especially because I am at the home stretch woth only 2mg left to go ## Hello, Andrea! How are you? Yes, there is a chance that it could be, other withdrawal effects, as listed by the FDA may possibly include chills, diarrhea, rebound pain, anxiety and depression. However, they may be unrelated, so it would be best to have them checked out, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with?

OK, I have been taking oxycodone for YEARS legally for my back. Then my back healed and I took them anyways. I felt shame for a number of years. I finally decided (cut off all other routes of escape - destroying my remaining oxys) to get off of them for good. I would NEVER to through illegal routes to obtain this drug (or any drug for that matter). My doctor was kind enough to give me suboxone to help with the withdrawals. What I did: Was taking 20mg-25mg a day. 1st day: Took 2mg Suboxone in the morning after starting to feel really sick (this is the KEY) and 1mg at night (needed it). Take it only as needed he said. I actually felt NO withdrawal other than being tired. Excellent first day! 2nd day: Took 1mg Suboxone in the morning and slept that night at 6 hours without a painful wake u...

I was on H and suboxone binge for the last 2 months I'd take H 3-8 bags for 2-3 days then hold off for 24 hours and take an 8mg suboxone pill to taper (just one dose that would last for 5-7 days. This last week though I needed more suboxone to feel comfortable and did an 8mg, 8mg, 4mg dose and then stopped cold turkey. I had been clean for 5 months and the last year and half with 2 very short relapses. Anyway the first 5 days i felt fine a little fatigued at times, then day 6 I started to get really depressed (like suicidally) in the afternoon and then fell asleep normally but started RLS and kicking around 5am watched tv for 2 hours then napped for one more (So i ended up with a full 8 hours) but then Day 7 I had mild chills and then late afternoon again i felt super depressed and ...

I've been taking Suboxone for a couple years and now I must get off them in 2-3 weeks. I only take 1/8 or 1/4 of the strip a day. Does anyone know if this is possible? I want to get into a pain management program for an injury to my back, and they won't take me unless I am not taking Suboxone. Can anyone help me? ## Hi Liz, sorry to hear about your back injury - I'd recommend that you hop in on this related discussion thread since there are already lots of people in there. Hopefully you can find some helpful info and also get others to chat with you about this. See: How long after you Stop Suboxone do you have withdrawal symptoms? ## Thanks Roy for your remarks. You will be glad to know I have gotten completely off the subs. It was a very long, hard road but I made it. I...
