Passport no longer covers my Suboxone prescription. I live in Kentucky and desperately need my medication. Is there any insurance that will cover my Suboxone? ## Jessica, many state Medicaid programs are no longer covering it due to the cost. You can check with the other Health Care Plans that Kentucky Medicaid has. If it is a Kentucky Medicaid decision, then none of the plans will cover it. If it is only the Health Plan that you belong to, it eis possible that one of the other Health Plans may cover it. But, you may or may not be able to change plains right away. You can go to each of the websites for the Medicaid Health Plans and put Suboxone in the search bar. It seems that only pregnant women and those under 21 are eligible for addiction treatment through Kentucky Medicaid. ## Thank...

Yes I live in Ohio I am an oppiate addict who is on disability ive been through it all i want to know if Ohio Disability ssd covers anything the meds or the visits to the doctors? ## Hi Gene, Based on my research, the Social Security Administration (SSA) webpage for some reason, does not actually list any of the types of services or disability that it supposedly covers. Basic information about the program can be found in the following pdf document. But I have yet to find specific details on coverage: ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10029.pdf However, from the looks of things, it seems like your best bet at this point would be to either contact the SSA directly regarding their coverage, or to discuss any type of disability information with your doctor. Reason being is that every doctor may have diffe...

I live in SC and I have United Healthcare (Medicaid). I have been receiving suboxone paid for by them for almost two years, with twice yearly prior authorization's. I would like to know if there is a time limit for how long they will pay for it. Will I be completely cut off at some point from Medicaid? ## I'm sorry, I wish I could help you, but I am really not familiar with how it works. Is there any form of medicaid in Michigan that will cover office visits and prescriptions for suboxone? ## @hhhbk2469, Looking at the 2014 Preferred Drug List for Michigan's Medicaid Coverage (linked below), I didn't see Suboxone listed on there. However it appears as though Methadone is; in case your doctor recommended that as an alternative. michigan.fhsc.com/PDL_20141220f.pdf Everyone responds to these types of medications differently though, so at the end of the day I just think it's best to do what feels right for yourself, and if that means holding out for Suboxone through some other type of coverage then that may be something to talk with your doctor about to see if he/she can help recommend a different program that does cover the type of med(s) you require. I hope th...

Hi my name is Carrie and I'm from Hermosa Beach, CA.. I have been taking oral 8mg suboxone for months, as it really helps me and keeps me from popping 40 vicodin or norco's a day. I was on cobra with Blue cross when I began taking it, but it was too expensive. The cobra was 600 a month. Do you know of any independent rx coverage for suboxone? Right now i just paid 400 for 90 of them, and that's a one month supply. I'm better off taking the vicodins. I am disabled, but haven't gotten approved for medical yet. I have no insurance. If you have any suggestions, please help me, best regards. ## I am not sure if there are any assistance plans that cover it, or not. You can try the manufacturers website or contact number, some other programs are pparx.org needymeds.org and ...

Does California's state insurance Medi Cal cover the doctor visits on suboxone and that medication? I live in Southern California. Any information would help. Thank You !!! ## Hi Danielle, I believe you may have to contact MediCal directly for up to date information on coverage. As from what I'm seeing online, Naloxone (one of the active ingredients in Suboxone) is listed on the drug formulary that was updated on May 20th, 2015 - But no apparent sign of brand name Suboxone in and of itself; or generic Buprenorphine - the other active ingredient in Suboxone. Ref: dhcs.ca.gov/services/pages/ff.html Based on the info above, my guess is that they don't provide coverage, but for verification you can reach California's MediCal at: 1-800-541-5555 (8am-5pm Monday through Friday)...

I had been seeing a suboxone doctor in Bloomington IN. Recently I had applied for medicaid and was granted full coverage. I dunno if anyone is farmilar with medicaid policies, but you must choose a plan before a certain amount of time is up or one will be assigned to you. Before choosing a plan I phoned my doctors office and asked them what forms of medicaid that they accepted. I chose a plan based on the information that I was provided. I started seeing this doctor in late November of last year 2014, was prescribed 12 mg of suboxone daily. On the 16th of this month I was to have an appointment with him at 10:30am. On the 15th I received a phone call from the office stating that my medicaid plan had switched and they could no longer see me due to the fact that they couldn't bill the...

I justed moved from north carolina where i was taking three to four subutex a day for five years. Then went to 4 suboxone 8mg a day and i moved to the DFW area and i cant find any doctor SO PLEASE SOMEONE HELP...... ## Cook Children's has a website at cookchp.org and there is a portal for members to use that lets you access features, such as a search for a provider in your area that accepts it. You can find it by looking in the orange box on the left side of the page, near the top is "Member Online Services". I think that would likely be the easiest way to find someone that can help you. Does anyone happen to know of a doctor in that area that accepts this coverage? ## Look up Kratom. It's an herb. When you finally try it, your search will change from looking for doctors...

Are there any medicaid mma plans that covers suboxone ## Hi Chris, According to the link below, Medicaid coverage for medication like Suboxone is said to vary "considerably" by State. See FAQ #4 on the following patient list: buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/faq.html You didn't mention what State you were in, but Florida is the only State's program I'm seeing information on when I type in MMA, so just wanted to double check that. Looking online at Florida Medicaid's drug formulary, the closest thing I found to Suboxone (Buprenorphine + Naloxone) was a combination of Pentazocine + Naloxone. It may also be a good idea to contact your local Medicaid office (human resource department) for more specific details involving coverage and whether or not they allow any exceptions t...

Does medicaid pay for neurontin or lyrica? ## HI THERE MY NAME IS MICHAEL, I HAVE A NEW INSURANCE CALLED AMERIGROUP REAL SOLUTIONS, I WAS WONDERING IF IT COVERS THE DRUG CALLED SUBOXONE, MANY SITES ARE SAYING DIFFERENT THINGS, I WOULD APPRECIATE AN ANSWER, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.. ## Hi Linda, From what I've read, Medicaid does provide coverage for drugs like Neurontin and Lyrica. However, you might also want to call the pharmacy ahead of time to verify whether or not there's a copay. @Mikey, According to Amerigroup's webpage, coverage is available for generic Suboxone (buprenorphine + naloxone), but it does require prior authorization and there also appears to be quantity limits of 120 for a 30 day period. You can view more specific details on page 5 and 33 of the following...

I am living in cincinnati and I have united health care insurance and I am in desperate need of finding a suboxone doctor who either takes either united healthcare or who has affordable prices for suboxone treatment I am tired and I need help. Please if anyone can give me any insight my email is . Thank you and god bless. ## You can use the search feature at the website Suboxone.com to see if there is anyone in your area that treats with it, but the only way to discover what coverage they accept is by calling them to check. And since the medication is still very new, most prices, for both office visits and the medication itself, are not cheap in any area. Does anyone else have any ideas or advice to add?

In desperate need of a new psychiatrist willing to continue me on 100mg Adderall IR, plus 2mg/2x daily Xanax (or Klonopin). I’m located in WA, I’ve been prescribed these meds for the past 11 years, and have always just paid psychiatrists out of pocket because I have s***ty HMO coverage. Due to unexpected deaths, retirement, and DEA interference, I have seen FIVE different docs in the past 10 years, and even though I’ve never gone out of state for Rx purposes before, I don’t know if there are any psychiatrists left in WA who meet the aforementioned criteria, and I also just want to avoid the f***ing WA PMP, because I don’t want to tell a new doctor that I was prescribed Suboxone (even though it was 4 years ago and only for 2 weeks).
