I am prescribed lortab 10 every 4 hours as needed, soma 350 mg 1 every 4 hours as needed, 15 mg of ambien each night. I am sleepless n Alabama and need to desperately find a safe way to get off this medication. I have no insurance.....please help. ## If you're simply looking for a powerful sleep aid to deal with insomnia, I'd highly recommend considering medical marijuana (that is of an indica variety). It may also be of great benefit to any emotional pain you might be dealing with when it comes to withdrawing off those medications. I'm not aware of the legality of cannabis in Alabama, but for someone with no insurance, it's something you can easily grow for personal use at very little cost. Have you talked to your doctor about a safe way to taper off?

The strongest pain killer in pill form is the OXYCONTIN 80mg or the morphine sulphate 150mg.It sounds like you are in agony May i suggest that if you are taking up to ten percs a day then you should be careful and your doctor is not doing you any good bye prescribing this will destroy your liver.I don't know how much pain you get from Lyme disease but I am on fentanyl 150mcg every 2 days I have been on the patch for near ten years. Before that it was perks,Oxycontin 80mg two tabs three times a day and i became so addixcted i walked into a hospital and the doctor saved my life I have not taken any pain killers pill form in over 5years no lies.I am much much healthier but my pain is daily I already have had spinal surgery and more will be needed sometime in the future.I can tell you if...

I need to know witch pill is the strongest Norco 5-325 or oxycodone 5mg my husband had a double knee replacement and is in a lot of pain.... ## Hello, Tina! How is he feeling? The Oxycodone is stronger than the Hydrocodone, but in this case, since the Norco also has Acetaminophen in it, they are probably both about equal. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Learn more Norco details here. They are both narcotic opiates that have the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. weakest to strongest pain medications ## LoLo Go to: Wikipedia and search Opioid Comparison ## Yes, there are really far too many for anyone to list them all and compare them for you, especially with your lack of specificity. If you restrict it to opiates, as capt ekim talked about searching for, then that narrows the list a bit, but in regards to general analgesics there are many on the market, both over the counter and prescription only medications. Additionally, there's no way to really know which will be stronger or weaker for any given person, since medications can affect everyone differently. For example, I get completely whacked out sick from some that work great for other people and their best choices don't do anything to help me with pain. Are there any other questions ...

My husband has an abcess under his knee and it was cut and packed. What kind of pain meds should i ask for to help his pain once he goes home ## Hello, Yuvette! How is your husband doing? I'm sorry about the problem he's had. However, it isn't wise to ask the doctor for any specific medication. That is often viewed as being drug seeking behavior and will make most doctor's reluctant to prescribe anything. If he needs a pain medication, he should speak to his doctor about what to do for that pain, without asking for any specific drug. Is there anything else I can help with?

Otherwise, the strongest on the market would be Fentanyl:

ive been on every pain medication I can think of.none of them work.my docter no longer knows what to give me.im in constant terrible pain. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I am so very sorry that you're in so much pain. The strongest that is currently available would be Fentanyl, it is over 80 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted a specialist? I have chronic back pain and have had it for 30 years. The only alternative for living a decent quality of life is by taking an opiate. I've had several surgeries and all Dr.s I;ve conferred with has stated that is no longet an option. I now take methadone and have for 10yrs However, because I also have Hepatitis C and Chirosis of the liver my opiate must be very strong to help with the pain and not have "any" adultrants in it. To keep me from getting nausuated due to my liver. I've tried dilaudid and the also make me nausueated, both name brand and generic. Anyone know what kind of a clean, strond opiate medication the Dr. Can perscribe for me.Please send any ideals to me at [email protected] [1] Sincerely and thanks, capellastar [1] Editor's note - In order to protec...

A new pain pill exstinded relief that starts with and a not avinsa ## Hi Eddie, What about the name Astramorph? It too is another brand of Morphine like Avinza. However, the difference is that Astramorph is an inj./epidural. And while I'm not sure how new it is or how long the relief lasts, inj's. are typically a lot stronger than oral pain meds due to increased bioavailability. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any other pain meds that start with an 'A', but if anything I hope this at least helps narrow down your search.

I'm a chronic pain patient who is wheelchair-bound due to the pain after a gunshot and I have just been increased from 20mg of Oxycodone. I was taking the NP 14 20mg and was increased to the 30mg Oxycodones; so what color of the 30mg's Oxycodones are the strongest or what number or imprint is the strongest? The 30mg RP's that I was dispensed don't seem to be as strong as the 20's. Can someone tell me why that is or am I just tripping, or is this pill just of a lesser quality than the other 30's? Hi All, I experience pretty severe neuropathic pain due to a spinal injury. I have a Baclofen pump which also contains hydromorphone but still get a lot of breakthrough pain. I've been taking oxycodone for 8ish yrs. and the pills I was prescribed those first few yrs. did a good job at treating the pain. I've had to change pharmacies and notice lately the oxycodone 30s I've been given lately do little or NOTHING! Especially the Mallinckrodt! My doc prescribed 3 30mg pills a day but I had to munch 5 of the Mallinckrodts in a 4 hour period and still got barely any relief. I was worried I'd get constipated big time after taking that many pills several days in a row but I didn't (because they're so damn weak!) I don't know the mfg. of the oxys I was taking yrs ago...

My son has a very severe drug addiction to pain med. He has turned to one of the strongest on the street and is now using needles. He has really hit bottom and wants to quit. Can a family practitioner prescribe the drug if it is safe? ## I have taken Suboxone for almost 3 years now. It has saved my life. I do consitter it a wonder drug. I never used the needle, but I did have a nasty Oxycottin addiction. I would recomend Suboxone to anyone who has a opiate addiction. They have nothing to loose but the addiction. Is Lyrica beneficial for nerve pain? ## I just got diagnosed with torm muscles and severe nerve damage to scapula after 4 1/2 yrs of being a lab-rat, after a work related injury. The specialist put me on Lyrica only a few days ago. I not am not sure what to think of it yet as I feel like I am floating in mid-air and feel like I have a permanent huge hangover. It has been impossible for me to concentrate on anything, including conversations. Although I have more energy, I feel like I am forcing myself to stay awake. I will be having wisdom teeth pulled. I would like to know what options are availiable for non narcotic pain relief. Preferably the strongest. I will be able to get a prescription, but I would like to avoid opiates or opioids. ## Wow, that's kind of difficult, because knocking out the opiates leaves only options for minimal pain relief. In many cases, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory would be prescribed, such as just a strong dose of Ibuprofen, but that can depend on how complicated the extractions are and how much you're bleeding afterwards. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. Are they being done in office, or as surgical extractions?

Hi. I have a question about fentanyl. I'm on 25+12mg every 72hr but still in a lot off pain. Now I heard from a friend that oxycodone 80mg is stronger. I'm in the pain clinic and my dr said my insurance (bmc) doesn't cover the oxycodone. Can anyone tell me if I can pay for the meds with cash? ## Hello, Caroux! How are you? No, Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, it is even stronger than Oxycodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, you may need a medication for breakthrough pain, in addition to the patches. Most doctors will prescribe a low dose Oxycodone or something similar.
