My primary dr has me on 10 mg percocet, 2 every 4 hrs for chronic/severe leg pain but it has lost it's effectiveness. I have appt w/pain mgt clinic on the 18th for the 1st time and am hoping they rx something stronger & definitely something that lasts longer. I haven't slept a full night in almost 2 years due to waking up in pain, taking meds, waiting for them to kick in and waiting to fall asleep again. Does anyone have an educated guess on what they may rx or what works well for this problem? Just curious and very excited at the prospect of having this pain under control. ## There are actually several time released medications that they may choose from. The most commonly used contains Oxycodone, it's called Oxycontin. There's also a time released Morphine available...

I take 160mg if methadone I am tapering from 190mg and I feel awful by end if the day. Is there any OTC meds that can make it last longer?? I heard grapefruit juice but had no luck ## Hello, Crowe! How are you? I am sorry about the problem that you're having. Have you consulted your doctor about it? Jumping down 30mgs might just be too big of a drop for your body to handle and you may need to go a little slower. However, Methadone is notoriously hard to get off of, so it is likely that may always experience some withdrawal effects. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Dear Crowe, I was on 110mg of methadone and decided it was time 4 me 2 taper down. ...

So i took diane 35 for the first time. I took it on the first day of my period. So i had 1 week of spotting like period so i didnt really mind it as it is usually a side effect. Then after the first week i noticed that the bleeding got a little stronger. And it has been 5 days of having this bleeding. Is it normal? ## Yes, that can happen, when you are new to taking a hormonal contraceptive and it may continue for the first 3 months, or so, according to the NIH. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, and PMS-like symptoms. If the bleeding becomes very heavy, or doesn't stop after a few months, you should consult your doctor, because you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi its my first time to take diane. Not knowi...

i have back problems an i was givin some by a freind ## Because pain medications tend to effect each person differently (due to various levels of pain tolerance and severity), you can't really tell someone "how" strong something like this is. What works for them may not have any effect on you, or vise versa. The Tylenol ER isn't necessarily stronger than other forms of Tylenol (in regards to potency). All it does is simply last longer, since it's an extended-release version of the drug. OTC meds like this also aren't really intended for severe pain issues, but it may help alleviate minor muscle aches & body pain, such as arthritis. I hope this helps!

I've been on pain medications by mouth and patch for some years now and they don't help my back pain any longer. Does anyone know of a good medication for pain and inflammation? I'm currently on 20mg of methadone 3X a day. ## A morphine implant. Or fentanyl patch. ## Donna in pain, what does your dr say ? Does he not want to increase your Methadone ? ## Hi Donna, I see that you have a couple questions pending from others already... but in regards to fighting inflammation, I would encourage you to research herbal supplements like turmeric + black pepper combinations; black pepper significantly increases turmeric's efficacy. The reason I even mention something natural like this is because my understanding is that it may have a direct healing effect on the underlying cause ...

I'm taking Norco 10/325 & soma 350mg twice a day. They no longer work. I have cronic lymes disease 5 year's now. Pain & fatigue migraines & a whole bunch of symptoms. I need something stronger. I'm exhausted &can't work after 30 years in banking, I'm can't work anymore. What do you recommend for pain medication. I've done every thing thèy gave me to cure lymes nothing worked. I'm done. Just treat the pain. Help me! ## Percocet is slightly stronger. Fentanyl is a long term pain med without the highs and lows experienced with breakthrough drugs like Norco. Migraine meds, non narcotiv nerve meds like gabepentin, muscle relaxers like Valium, lots of choices! ## What M3sue has posted is correct, there are plenty of other options available....

I normally recieve blue loritabs this month went to the pharmacy that didnt pay attention to scripts they were filling because they tried to double up a new antidepressent w another stronger antidepressant from my file that I no longer take cuz it makes me sick. So the pills I got this month are labeled the same Hydrocodon-acetaminophn 10-500 but are pink instead of blue and have a V on 1 side and 3600 on the other??? ## Hi gabby, In this case, it appears that both pills have the same dosage and are likely just manufactured by different companies. When you switch brand names, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the ...

I wanting to know this because i have really bad panic attacks and i need to know which one will help me the fastest? ## Hi Kayla, Both medications are in the same drug class of benzodiazepines, but in terms of overall potency/strength mg for mg, there's really no truly accurate answer since drug equivalency charts don't take into account the fact that everyone responds to these types of drugs differently. Looking on various discussion threads comparing the two, I concluded that neither medication seems to have anymore clout than the other overall. However, from what I understand Lorazepam is reported to be longer lasting than Alprazolam. The best thing to do in my opinion would be to ask your doctor for a trial of either medication to see what works best for you over the course...

Is Roxie 10 stronger than morphine 60just wondering what's best to take I find morphine last longer than Roxie ## Oxycodone is one a half times stronger than Morphine, so, going by the doses you've mentioned, the 60mg Morphine is stronger. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation, it also carries the risk of being habit forming. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have leg and back pain were I can't even walk or even lay down which hydrocodone is best for me!? ## Dear Barbara, the only difference is the amount of Tylenol in them. The 325 have less Tylenol than the 750. Some Drs. Will give the 325 b cause 2 much Tylenol can cause liver problems. p.s. Tylenol is same name 4 acetaminophen. ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? Actually, you have no choice but to go with the one that contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, because the others are no longer available, they were all removed from the market as of the 1st of the year. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Were they taken of...

I broke my leg 2 years ago and now have a heel spur, arthritis on the top of my foot and a pinched nerve aka CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome) in my ankle. I am hopefully getting a spinal cord stimulator surgically installed in a couple months. I truly don't know how much longer I can handle the pain. I take 16mg of Suboxone everyday, I want to ask my doctor if he can switch me to a strong opiate for the next couple months and then switch back to Suboxone but wean off in a week instead of long term maintenance. I know Suboxone helps with pain but surely an opiate will be stronger? ## Yeah it definitely would, I don’t think you can easily make the switch though. I know that when I withdrew from regular pain medication withdrawal was over in a few days, I mean it took a full...

I was on hydrocodone 7.5 -750 now they said they dont make it no more and gave me 7.5 -325 which is stronger. I have a bad back and just got the new ones today the 7.5-325. which one of the to is stronger for me to use or should I call my Doctor. ## Hello, Gregory! How are you? That is correct, the ones with the higher amount of Acetaminophen in them are no longer available. If you were taking 7.5/750 and now have 10/325 they are pretty close to being equivalent, but you should consult your doctor to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dear Gregory, the only difference is the amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in them. The strength is still the same, but, has less Tylenol . So, the 325 has less Tylenol than the 750. ## I take 10mg 325 is that stronger than 7.5mg 700. M...

ive bee taking 15 mg of oxycodone every 4hrs for chronic pain do to a brain injury that occured about 4 months ago. ive never had ANY cetimeiphen in it ever. please explain why some people do have this and some don't. thanks. p.s oxycodone is definatley stronger than hydrocone. i am about to go to to 15mg of the hydrocodone it works better for me. definitly and last longer. why? ## Hello, Travis! How are you? Some of them contain Acetaminophen, because it augments the narcotic opiate and helps it work better, so it has a stronger effect and works better to relieve pain. However, the narcotic is still effective without it and it isn't necessary to prescribe one that contains Acetaminophen for everyone. It can be very rough on the liver, especially if someone is taking high amount...

ive been on every pain medication I can think of.none of them work.my docter no longer knows what to give me.im in constant terrible pain. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I am so very sorry that you're in so much pain. The strongest that is currently available would be Fentanyl, it is over 80 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted a specialist? You may do better with a pain pump or spinal stimulator that are constantly working.

Help me find something stronger than oxycodone 30 imm release and works longer I'm going too doctors in the morning and I need everyone's help please ## Hello, Caityln! How are you? There is no 30mg immediate release Oxycodone, so if you weren't taking Oxycontin, then I assume you were on the regular release formulation that starts working 15 to 20 minutes after you take it. That said, there are stronger doses of Oxycodone available that could try, if your doctor approves. If you prefer Morphine, you'd need 45mgs of it to be equivalent to each 30mgs of the Oxycodone that you were taking, so more if you need to increase the dosage. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, s...

Im on a clinic and it seems like the methadone i got when i was at the hospital was wat stronger even though i was still getting the same mg.it seemed stronger and lasted better until i got dosed the next day at the sametime basically does anyone know if this is true or not or if it just seems like that I'm very confused about this someone please tell me what you know ## There can be some fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient that is in generic medications and some people can be sensitive to these differences. Learn more Methadone details here. The other possibility is that your body may have just gotten used to this dosage and it's no longer affecting you the same way that it did before. Yes I take hydrocodone 325 10mg. Is it stronger than 750 dont know what mg is. My uncle keeps aguring that hisn750 isnthe strong3st ## Hello, Linda! How are you? The higher the number, the stronger the dose. So a 10/750 would be stronger than a 10/325. However, that dose is no longer manufactured. They've all been lowered to contain no more than 325mgs of the Acetaminophen per dose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have heard that oxycodone IR will no longer be on the market in the U.S. - Is this true? Someone said they heard on the news that oxycodone immediate release 30mg tablets will be off the market within 6 months and I'm just wondering if anyone else has been told this as well? ## No, not that I am aware of in anything I've read recently. And I doubt the veracity of this claim from the person that stated it due to one major reason, that being that there is no 30mg Oxycodone IR, so that is not the way it would have been presented on the news. The instant release is only available as a 5mg capsule. Anything stronger than that is either the regular released formulation, or the time released formulation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and ma...

THOUGHT THE PHARMACY GAVE THE WRONG MEDS TODAY AND WAS A LITTLE UPSET UNTIL I LOOKED IT UP ON THE WEB.I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE KIND AFTER 15 YEARS OF PRESCRIPTIONS. IT IS SAID THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENERIC AND TRUE MEDS BUT I BEG TO DIFFER.THESE SEEM TO CARRY YOU ALOT LONGER AND I BELIEVE THERE ALOT STRONGER. I'D RATHER HAVE THESE ANY DAY. ## Hello, Doodle! How are you? Yes, both are listed in the prescription drug identification databases as containing 10mgs of Methadone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, I'm glad that this one seems to work better for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a new pill my dr called in it is oval orange V on one side and 3605 on other side shows it's Hydrocodone 7.5/325 I was previous on Hydrocodone 7.5/500 not sure why dr changed it! Is the 7.5/325 a stronger pill as I have severe back issues so wondering if that's y the change! Thanks! ## The 325/500 is the amount of acetaminophen in the capsule. Most Dr.s will try to keep you on the lower end to avoid liver damage. Your pain relief should be the same. ## Hello, Carolyn! How are you? The ones with the higher amounts of Acetaminophen are no longer available. Since it does potentiate the action of the Hydrocodone, if you find it doesn't work as well for your pain, please contact your doctor, as they may need to change your dosage of it.
