Can I mixed solid tablets together in one bottle for traveling? ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? Yes, you can do that. However, you should be aware that if you're flying, it is best to leave them in their original bottles, to avoid any undue suspicion from TSA. If you are driving and get pulled over, you may also have to deal with explaining to the police what they are and proving that they have been prescribed. But many people do use daily dose pill holders, when traveling, to avoid taking the full bottles with them for shorter trips. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for the info.......good advice too !!

what is it? I found that I had stored it in with my bottle of pepto Bismal. could it be something similar? I forgot. ## Hello, I personally haven't seen any Pepto Bismal pills that are blue/white. Are you sure there isn't some sort of an imprint on this capsule? The reason I ask is because U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have unique letters or numbers (sometimes in addition to a logo of some kind) imprinted on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance, and dosage. If you can give me any additional information, it will make it much easier for me to Identify this pill for you. Thanks!

Are 10 year old watson 385 pills safe to take if they were stored in a drawer ## Should be, u wouldn't be located in AZ? ## I'm in AZ and just trying to find a pharmacy in 85044 zip code that still carries the white 7.5 Watson 387 today???? ## Hello, Dean! How are you? After 10 years, they will no longer be effective and you should just dispose of them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And Nik, I'm sorry, but those are no longer being manufactured. As of the beginning of this year, all combination prescription medications that contained more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen, per dose, were removed from the U.S. market. I bought 100 amoxicillin caps about 3 years ago and stored them in a dark place and I was curious if they would still be good to take. ## does amoxicillin expire ## don't use it. amoxicillin goes bad a year from when you bought it. ## Actually, no, it does not go bad, it just loses efficacy, so it is not as strong or as potent as when you first bought, starting from about 18 months past the manufacture date. You should never self-diagnose or self-treat with antibiotics anyway, there are so many other conditions that will not respond to them, so they have no effect, and you of course run the risk of developing an antibiotic resistant strain of something with overuse, so please see your doctor. ## First of all, why do you just have the drug sitting around? Did you take it and not fini...

Does Clindamycin Solution get messed up if refrigerated then stored at room temperature afterwards. ## Hello, Wanda! How are you? Yes, the liquids tend to degraded much faster than other medication formulations, so you should most likely just dispose of it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a sealed container of Augmentin that is 2 months expired and stored properly. Can I still use it? ## Hi Trudy, it is not recommended 2 use any medication that has expired . ## I have a Rx of chewable suprex that says it expires November 2015. I have had it for about 6 months so since its not expired is it still ok? ## It would be best not to use an expired medication, unless your doctor says it is okay to do so. An expired antibiotic may not be as effective as it was when new, which means it may not fully eradicate the infectious bacteria, and that the infectious bacteria could develop antibiotic resistance. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Augmentin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Ref: Augmentin Information April,...

l cannot afford the price of 60mg dexilant - have samples dated 2011 . stored in dark dry place. my condition is severe esophogeal erosion with barretts syndrome. taking omneprozal but worry about kidney problems, are they safe to take? ## Hello, Elaine! How are you? Actually, both of these medications are in the same drug class and carry the same risk of causing kidney damage, or failure, according to the FDA. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence and stomach pain. Thus, it is likely best to stick with the one that isn't expired, unless your doctor directs otherwise. Is there anything else I can help with?

someone please tell me the shelf life of sulfamethoxazole when being stored in a cool place. I've had this since 10/2013 it's now 2016 Can I take this now????? ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? If it is in bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, it has an expiration date of one year, from the date you received it, because those bottles expose it to the elements that cause degradation. If it is in the original factory sealed bottle, then it is good for approximately 4 years, from the date you received it. If it is expired, it loses efficacy and could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria, so you should dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if an antibiotic is required. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, head...

I accidentally left my duac tube in my car while I was at work. It recommends that it is stored at 77 degrees. However, I am sure that inside my car it reached over 100 degrees today. Does anyone know if this will affect Duac? Can I still use my prescription or do I need to get it refilled? ## I see this was posted several weeks ago, did you ask your doctor, or pharmacist? Usually, the excess heat can cause the ointment to start breaking down, but it can really depend on how long it was exposed to such temperatures.

How many years past the expiration date would if be safe to use Jevity for nutrition. If it was stored in a non-climate controlled environement would this adversely affect it? ## Can you drink outdated jevity ,if so what happens to it. ## Generally, it is best to avoid outdated liquids, because as the FDA warns, they may turn sour/go bad, and could make you sick if you use them, this goes for both supplements, and medications. Thus, drinking it could cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply. Is there anything else I can help with?

My 20mg prednisone tablets have no expiration date. How long will they maintain their potency and life stored at room temperature around 78 to 82 degrees in fairly dry conditions? ## Hello, Gerry! How are you? If they are still in the original sealed bottle from the factory, then they have a 3 to 4 year expiration date, if kept in a cool, dark, dry location, which would be less than the temperature you've mentioned. If they are in a pharmacy bottle, which exposes them to the elements that cause degradation, then the expiration date is one year from the date they were dispensed to you. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can bromfed be kept in the refrigerator? ## Hello, Novia! How are you? Actually the instructions say it should be stored at room temperature. Some liquid medications contain ingredients that may change, if it gets too cold, so it would be best to keep it out of the fridge and away from other extreme temperatures. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of appetite and anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with?
