Stopped taking duromine 2 days ago because it gave me high blood pressure. I expected my blood pressure to go back to normal straight away but it's still high. Will it go back to normal or will I now have high blood pressure forever? ## Hello, Rebecca! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. It is possible that some permanent damage was done, that is a risk that can be associated with such medications. How high is it? Have you consulted your doctor?

my doctors prescription is has follows AMIODPINE 5MG,BENDROFUMETHIAZIDE 2.5 CANDESARTAN 8MG, HALF INDERAL LA 80MG, ## Hello, Doris! How are you? I understand your concern, many people worry, when they are prescribed multiple medications. However, the relevant question is, while taking them, what are your blood pressure levels and your heart rate? And how high was your blood pressure before taking them? If someone's blood pressure is dangerously high, they are often prescribe multiple medications to bring it down safely as fast as possible to get them out of danger. Then once they are stable at a lower blood pressure level, medications can be stopped or changed, as needed.

8 months before i had a blood pressure of 148/110 and doctor prescriped olmin 20. I have taken regularly and bp is normal now. I want to discontinue the medicine. Is it possible to discontinue? ## No, you shouldn't discontinue it, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so. If it's the only thing keeping your blood pressure at normal levels, it's just going to go back up again, if you stop the medication. Additionally, if you just stop taking it abruptly, it could cause a rebound effect that could result in dangerously elevated blood pressure levels and heart rate, which could put your life in danger. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## I tapered myself off from 40mg of lisinoprol daily. After I had a pancreatitis attack, I lost 30 lbs in 2 weeks a...

I`am taking nifedipine 60mg my doctor told me to increase it by 30 mg if the top side was over 151 so i did. I want to go back to 60 mg i monitor my bloodpressure each day ## Have you consulted your doctor about going back to the prior dosage? Nifedipine is a calcium channel blocker and it, as well as most other blood pressure medications, can cause rebound effects if the dosage is lowered or the medication is stopped suddenly. These effects can actually result in your blood pressure going higher, for several days and can also cause elevated heart rate. So, in essence, the dosage usually has to be lowered slowly, which is why it's best to discuss it with your doctor on the proper amount to lower it by.

I have been taking Zartan 50 for a few months for high blood pressure. I have also been taking half a Serrapress 20 in the morning for anxiety. I then had a spate of very high blood pressure at 170/115. My dr prescribed half an Urbanol in the morning and half at night. My blood pressure is now as low as 125/66. I stopped the Urbanol two days ago but my blood pressure is still low. Should I still be taking Zartan?

How long for very sore feet and legs to return to normal? Also tiredness and sleeplessness? ## Hello, Steph! How are you? Did you stop taking it abruptly, without tapering or switching to a different medication? If so, that could create dangerous rebound effects, which could include severely elevated blood pressure and heart rate. It could put you in danger, as reported by the FDA. As to muscle soreness, it may take a few weeks for things to return to normal. How long were you taking it and what was the dose? ## Hello, I have been taking 1x amlopedine 5mg for about 15 years (together with 1x lisinopril 5mg? I want to know how long does it take to get chlorthalidine out of my system after I stop taking it? ## Hello, Esther! How are you? Why did you stop taking it? If you were taking it to treat high blood pressure, or edema, it may not be safe for you to just stop it, unless your doctor has approved. The NIH states that it may take a few days, or a couple weeks to full process out, depending on how long you were taking it and what the dosage was. Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination, hypotension, and dehydration. ## Well I stopped because swelling from feet went down but after 5days my feet start to swell again so I started to take again.i will see my doctor on Nov4 Thanks

I've never had a blood pressure issue and since taking MiraLAX for a week for constipation my lood pressure was 166/104! Could it be the MiraLAX? ## I double checked the side effects, both the consumer and professional listings, but I didn't find anything about it causing hypertension. Ref: (MiraLAX / Polyethylene glycol 3350) MedlinePlus "The effect of stimulant laxatives and polyethylene glycol-electrolyte lavage solution for colonoscopy preparation on serum electrolytes and hemodynamics": However, I think you should consult with your doctor for an exam and further testing, because while it isn't listed a side effect or reaction, other users have reported experiencing this from MiraLAX and their blood pressure went back to normal when they stopped using it. i took 5 arthrexin - 25. had high blood pressure 226 / 102 did the arthrexin cause this ## I have smoked canabis for more than 10 years I have stopped smoking but now am battling with high blood pressure ## @harry, Although I do believe cannabis can help a lot with high blood pressure, there are also other natural alternatives you can try on the side. First and foremost, changes in your diet are most likely going to have the biggest impact on your blood pressure. Eating foods that have little to no sodium and which are high in potassium and magnesium are your best food sources for lowering blood pressure in my opinion. These foods primarily include fresh fruits and vegetables; bananas and dates in particular are great for this, among many others! Other dietary and non dietary options fo...

Do I still need to take my losartan now that I am on diltiazem and digoxin for Afib? ## What has your doctor advised? What have your blood pressure readings been? How's the a-fib? The Losartan is an ARB and the Doltiazem is a calcium channel blocker and while they both treat the same types of conditions, they are often used together to help enable better control of them. Thus, one shouldn't be stopped, without your doctor's approval and supervision. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have been taking Nitrofurantoin 100mg, one per day for 2 months. Since taking it have had bad headaches, lightheadedness, nausea and my blood pressure keeps going low. Can the Nitrofurantoin cause bp to go low and also once the Nitrofuantoin has been stopped, how long before the side effects disappear ? ## I take notification mono/mac 100mg and my blood pressure is elevated ## There is no effect on blood pressure listed among the side effects reported by the FDA, though there is no way to be sure how nay given medication will affect any certain person that takes it. However, I'd be more inclined to think that your respective illnesses are causing these issues, which means they should improve, after they are resolved. But it would be best to have them checked out, to be sure. Other...

For 6 years I was taking Losar H 1 tab (morning) And Amtas AT 25 1 tab (at night). With these two tabs my BP used to be 130/80. Whenever I tried to reduce the dose my BP use to spike upwards. Since Jan 15 I started exercises like brisk walking, climbing hills, aerobics and weight training. During one year as per my doctor's advice Amtas AT 25 was stopped as BP readings came down to as low as 110/70. Now with only Losar H in the morning my readings are 115/75. Can exercise reduce BP dose? ## Hello, Sham! How are you? Yes, exercise can lower it for some people and so can dietary improvements. Long-term use of the medications creates the risk of liver and kidney damage, or failure, according to the U.S. FDA, so diet and exercise are actually much safer. Is there anything else I can hel...

I have been taking Coveram 5/5 for some time now and had my blood pressure checked about 3 weeks ago (for an insurance that I was taking out). My blood pressure was 85/60 which I believe is very low. I have since stopped taking the Coveram as I was afraid that it was causing my blood pressure to drop too much. I had also been taking a product called Stress-Away (made by TIBB) and wonder if this might have caused this reaction. Since that very low reading, i have also stopped taking the Stress-Away tablets and have felt no ill effects from the lack of either tablet. I am a little concerned about this and was wondering if I am doing any damage to my system. ## Rather than stopping the medication, it would have been better to speak to your doctor, since letting your condition continue untr...

Have had high Bp for 6 years, been on Maxzide 37.5 and has been controlled. Now I have ideal or low blood pressure out of nowhere. On call Dr says not to take Bp med so i didn't. Still low or ideal. What could cause BP to be low suddenly? Constant headache too. ## Are you on any other medications? Are you dehydrated? Both are possible issues that could cause it to be low, according to FDA reports. What are your current readings? How low is it? The headache is a bit concerning. There are so many issues that can cause that. ## I found it was the Ativan that I was put on for anxiety was causing really low BP, 90/60. I stopped the Ativan. I'm gonna try a natural anxiety med. I am a 56 year old woman that was giving omeprozole for acid reflux and gerd. It really did help. I thought it was the best thing ever until here 1 1/2 years later, the Dr was sending me to a heart specialist because my heart rate has climbed so high as well as my blood pressure. I've also had incontinence this year that has made my life miserable. Little did I know until reading more about the omeprazole that all of these problems had come from taking it. I stopped the omeprazole and with in days my heart rate begin to come down, from 123 beats per minute to 87 bpm. My blood pressure also dropped into a normal range, and the best thing is no more incontinence. I didn't realize this medication was causing all of this mess. My Dr. tried to say it wasn't the omeprazole, but th...

My husband had a heart attack. Pharmapress was 1 of the tablets they gave him. He stopped using it because his bp drops so low to 92/73 that he almost faints. The doctor told him to take half or a quarter, but the result stayed the same. The BP is far below 120/80. ## Is he on any other medications? That can be a side effect of this medication, according to the NIH, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. Has he informed his doctor that problem continued? He may need to switch to a different medication. I had one that caused me similar problems. ## May I use Pharmapress 10mg instead of Prexum Plus 5mg for a few days? Kindly advise.
