The FDA lists some of the possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, irritability, acne, weight gain and bone loss. I'd like to ask a question. I've had emphysema for about 15yrs and it's been particularly bad the last 5yrs. I can *feel* it get worse every year. It also takes longer and longer to go away to a level to where I can walk around my home, get dressed, or stand-up to cook! Most of the time getting to the bathroom is exhausting. Recently, my GP gave a course of steroid pills and said I could take them for 3-5days but no longer; "cos they're really bad for you". I asked in what way & she said my bones. This makes no sense to me cos I've had osteo-arthritis since I was 20yrs old; and both knees are bone-on-bone - no cartilidge left. So, since that already exists, what else is wrong with them? For over a month now I've have noticed dark spots on my gums and lips. They weren't there before. I want to know if the hcqs, lefumide or steroids (prednisone) have ever had any side effects like that? I have been taking these meds since 2014. Also, could too much exposure to sunlight whilst on the meds affect one's lips?

I am on day 5 of 7 of amox tr-k clv 875-125 mg tabs for a uti. After day 2 I am acting as if I am on steroids. Rotor tilled and planted two gardens, planted 4-flats of flowers, 6-rosebushes cut lots of grass. Was not even achy or had sore muscles. Stayed up half the nite camping out. Can't sleep at nite, talk non stop and not very hungry. This was all days 2-5. If it wasn't for the no sleep I'm getting a heck of a lot done. I've been using 100mcg patch Fentanyl every 48 hours for months now. Last week my neurologist had to prescribe me a Medrol-Dos Pak (steroids) because the pain in my knee became unbearable, even with pain medication. It was too early to get another shot. So, I'm now on DAY 3 of the DOSE PAK, and I swear these patches start wearing off after only 1 day! Out of the blue I started feeling horrible withdrawal symptoms yesterday, even though I wasn't due to change the patch until today. I had no choice but to replace the patch early. I figured maybe it was a defective patch. But now TODAY I am experiencing the same problem. I am just curios to know why respridal's side effects are very similar to Anabolic steroids. I know it is an anti depressant but I've noticed it causes weight gain and some people show symtoms of "rage". Can someone please answer this question? ## It's primarily because they can both have an effect on the chemicals in our brain. These types of side effects, among others, are normal for any medication that affects the chemicals in the brain, including antidepressants and Benzodiazepines. Not everyone experiences them, but it is always a possibility. Is there anything else I can help you with?

taking steroids for tooth pain after 4 teeth and root canal 3 months ago. I am still in excruciating pain and and on clindamiacin for infection. NOTHING is working and Im ready to shot my head off! Sandi ## I am very sorry to hear what you are going through and I hope your pain is starting to ease. That said, the steroids can help with swelling and in that respect can help reduce pain, but they are not a regular pain reliever and will not work like one. Have you tried talking to your doctor to see if they can give you something else?
