Does the effectiveness of Zoloft decrease with time ? Never, rarely, sometime,often,etc.----per cent of time ?p ## Hello, Colgan! How are you? There is no specific time frame or percentage that I can give you, because it can vary from person to person, but eventually our bodies get used to anything we take regularly and it stops working as well, which means the dosage may need to be adjusted, or the person may need to try a different medication. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Zoloft as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

The brand name patches are very good! They stay on my skin very well. However they will irritate if on passed a day or the next morning. The generic patches are useless everything from sticking together, to itching, to dropping off the skin,to curling in the corners is true. I have found that if you put a sock, a glove (a cloth glove, that will keep moisture out helps for the patch to stay on and in place. I did not like the generic patches, unfortunately my insurance will not pay for the better one.And now I can't get them at all!!!!!Try not to lotion down nor shower just before putting on. If you go out try to keep body cool as the patch will peel if any kind of sweat gets around the area.

Hi, I recently started Butrans patch which seems to be helping except I can't get it to stay on properly even with the tagaderm covers. First off under my armpit was not good, so I tried the other side and the same thing they wrinkle. The left upper chest worked great when it was time for the right it was different couldn't get it to stay on flat. Could it be that it's hot and I move around a lot so I sweat idk. I just want it to lie flat and stay put like the first 2 times I applied it. Any suggestions? ## Yes, sweating or the excess skin oil that can occur due to heat may be contributing to the problem. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, d...

I started on Zoloft 3 weeks ago and I went from cutting a 50mg pill in half to increasing it 25 mg each week. I am now on 100 mg. I was prescribed Zoloft for anxiety. I usually take the pill around 7 pm. The first weeks I was absolutely fine the only thing that is persistent is that I would go to sleep and wake up few times a night. I was wondering if this is permanent ? ## No, it should not be a permanent side effect, but it may take a few weeks for it to go away, once you are on one consistent dosage, for awhile. The FDA does warn that this medication might cause REM Onset Latency as a side effect, which means that it can take longer for you to enter the REM phase of sleep and you may not be in it for as long as normal. That can cause a disrupted sleep patter, for awhile. When I'v...

Started zubsolv 3 weeks ago after taking subs for 6 years. I would only take a quarter to half of 8mg sub every 24 hours and would sleep like a baby all night. On these zubsolv's I'm lucky to sleep 2 hours then wake up for an hour then back to bed for another 2 hours. Very frustrating! My dr. Has me on 3 5.7 mg a day and it seems to me that only 2-4 mg of suboxone a day was working better for me. Anybody have any similar thoughts on this? ## I have moderate severe back/ hip pain and legs too. A couple fusions , a pump.Been thru several pain drs.once I got a pump and then had it out. My prescriber wants me to take a very expensive psych med called Rexulti (~$1,100/mth), and tells me that Medicaid won't drop me for doing so. If you know Utah politics, they are still fighting ACA Medicaid Expansion and finding ways to reduce Medicaid programs such as PCN. I feel that if I take such an expensive medication, that puts a target on my back to be dropped at the first excuse. The state Medicaid office and pharmacies will not tell me how much each is paying, so I am left to guess if they have worked the price down, or if it's the bullet I think it is. As an alternative, I am thinking of taking its analog Abilify (aririprazole). But the problem is the same, they won't disclose pricing and Utah Medicaid refuses to pay outside Utah such as a Canadian pharmacy that s...

I have trouble sleeping and staying a sleep. Took a temazepam 30mg and still wide awake 2 hours later. Why? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? There are a couple of possible reasons why… The first is that not every medication works for everyone that takes it, that's why there are usually several different medications available in any given therapeutic class. The next could be due to tolerance, if you've been taking this one regularly for a long period of time. Sometimes our bodies just get used to a certain dosage of a certain medication and it begins to lose its effectiveness. Learn more Temazepam details here. This is a benzodiazepine class medication, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. H...

Having some trouble staying quit, but am dealing with it! So far , the only symptoms I've had from Chantix are the dreams, and being unfocused, but not so bad. ## There are a lot of individuals who report some horrible side effects from Chantix, but it sounds like your doing great! Have you experienced any bad side effects from this drug? My dad has been smoking for over 40 years, but he decided to cold turkey it just this year and stick it out. He had about a week or so of cold-like symptoms and sleeping it off, but now it has been 7 weeks and he hasn't craved or touched a cig since! And after 40+ years of chronic smoking, that's really saying something. I'm only mentioning this in light of letting others know that going cold turkey on smoking cigs is possible and is al...

My 87 year old mom is staying with me at Christmas. I have LASIK and potassium that are supposed to be given 20mg and 10 mg respectively. Can I half the dose? ## Hello, Anita! How are you? Yes, as long as tablet, such as the Lasix isn't time released or marked that you shouldn't cut, break or chew it, it is okay to do so, but you should always make sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. The potassium, however, is one of those that is usually marked not to be broken, cut, crushed or etc. It can cause severe irritation of the stomach if that is done, so it needs to be taken whole. Is there anything else I can help with?

I live in USA and will be staying in Mazatlan Mexico for 31 days. I am in a methadone xlinic and my Dr. can prescribe me 26 days of methadone. They say to set up a courtesy dose. at a clinic in Mazatlan for the remaining days. Is there any methadone clinics in Mazatlan that could provide courtesy dosing? ## Hi Mona, I see no shortage of rehab facilities and drug addiction centers all throughout Mexico listed in the yellow pages. However, I haven't come across any specifically denoting "methadone" as an option (let alone in Mazatlan). It may be that you'd have to call around or make an appointment for a consultation to find out about the types of treatment they offer. Will you be close to any major cities? Okay so last night I was staying the night with a friend and we were perfectly fine not pitching no marks nothing and then this morning tee wake up to both of us itching and breaking out all over ## Hello, Diedra! How are you? Flea bites would not cause all over itching and breaking out. They would be small areas localized to just where you were bitten. Have you consulted your doctor? It sounds like this may be something else, possibly bed bugs, which must be treated differently. That said, no this ointment should not use, unless your doctor instructs you to do so, because using it for the wrong condition could worsen the problem. Hi! I have a relative staying over who uses Agoral frequently as it is the only thing that aids his severe constipation problem. I just found lupin 500 in the bedroom of a young man that was staying at my house. Could he have been using it to feel high? ## Hi Pat - Based on what you have described it sounds like you found a LUPIN 500 capsule. Fortunately this is not a drug that would be abused. It is Cephalexin 500 mg, which is an antibiotic. The word LUPIN simply refers to the manufacturer's name, not the drug itself. The NDC code for this drug is 68180-122, and here is a photo for your reference: Hope this helps!
