My mom was recently (two weeks ago) put on Jakafi, 10 mg twice daily. Her red blood cells went from 10.5 to 9.9...something like that. I am concerned it's the jakafi as i know that was something we were told to possibly expect. Just wondering if anyone has been on this long term (from the study) or even short term and how they are feeling? ## My dad went on the drug December 20,2011. All levels are dropping, but he feels so much better. Eating great, less night sweats and more energy. My mother is almost crippled and is having a hard hard time finding a doctor in kentucky to take her. She has a mri that shows every disc in her back either gone or shattered and cant walk, yet cannot seem to find a doctor in a pain clinic who will take her without a docs referral. The ones here only want to write her hyrdrocodone which she had for two years and give her back shots that she had years ago only making it worse... she refuses the shots and those meds do nothing for her at all by now. Was willing to travel to virginia or west virginia or any other state that may take her since it seemed ky has closed its doors on ppl who actually need a strong pain med. My mom is 62 year old, she takes diabities and blood pressure tablets every day. today morning she went for walk empty stomach without taking blood pressure medicine. when she came back, she complained about chest pain. we rushed to hospital and doctors did ecg, blood pressure was 90/160, and she was given ketrol and anxol injections. They also prescribed ecosprin 150. i am concerned what caused chest pain and what should be my action.. please advise ## Well, the chest pain and the elevated blood pressure could have been caused by her not taking her blood pressure medication. While there are always people online, like myself, that are happy to help, if we can, we cannot administer life saving aid, if that is what's required. This is a stimulant, so an overdose does have the potential to be dangerous, it could cause a dangerously elevated heart rate and hypertension, so it's not something to be taken lightly. ## Sounds like the vyvanse isn't working if u forgot u took it in the first place.

I was taking Mometasone for about 3 weeks for a sinus infection. I stopped about 6 weeks ago. Now I am experiencing joint pain and soreness, specifically on my wrists and hands. My back has also been feeling more sore than usual. Does anybody think it is possible that this is a result of the Mometasone? ## Hello, Alex! How are you? If you stopped taking it 6 weeks ago, then no, it isn't likely to be from the Mometasone, though it is a steroid class medication, most side effects typically wear off within a week or so of stopping it. Are you on any other medications? Did you take an antibiotic for the infection? ## I am not on any other medication. I was on an antibiotic ( I think it was Ampicillin ) for the sinus infection at the same time as I was given Mometosone to use.

I just started Testim today after being diagnosed with Low-T. Not sure what my tested levels were at the moment, but have a call into my Dr to get this info. My wife is very concerned with this drug. She has read that it is dangerous to her and my 6 year old daughter. My first dose (1%) was this morning and I followed the instructions for application. My doc just prescribed Cymbalta to me yesterday. I took my first pill yesterday. I didnt read up on it till after my son told me "MOM< NO dont take that". I heard it has really bad side effects. So we got on the computer and read up on it. OMG, this is horrible. Why would doctors even prescribe this to patients??? I woke up this morning feeling kinda bad. At the moment I am on Syndopa+ 6snd half tabs distributed during the day between 5 am and 7 pm and 1 syndopa cr 125 at 7 am and one syndopa cr 250 at 1030 pm. I had very little sleep for quite some time (about 3/4 hrs only) and was prescribed stilnoct 6.25 (sos basis) and was advised to take whenever I felt that i did not have sufficient sleep. I just tried taking it for some 2 tabs a week for about 3/4 weeks. Now I feel it is needed every day if I have to sleep to be fresh next morning despite tremors on account of parkinson. My mom went to the emergency room and we think they gave her Dilaudid instead of tylenol for pain which was not in anyway severe or the reason she was there. After that she was totally knocked out and now 2 1/2 days later is in a semi comatose state. My mom's 88 yrs. She has a pacemaker, AFIB, CHF, History of TIA's, and both her siblings had strokes. She has to have a bronchoscopy so they want her blood thicker. She's been on coumadin since 2009. Her cardiologist called her 'low-risk', and told her to stop coumadin 5 days prior to procedure, but my sister and I think lovenox is more appropriate? I don't get how they can say she's low stoke risk. Stroke is our biggest fear. ## Have you discussed your concerns with her and her doctor? His opinion of her being at low-risk is based on her current health and medical history, but by all means if you disagree you should say so. It may also be safer for her to taper for awhile before the procedure, rather than just stop abruptly.
