I switched from Lexapro to Celexa on Feb 1, 2012, due to insurance cost. I did NOT react well. The first two weeks, jitters (like caffeine) very slowly increased my insomnia, which after 2 weeks of sleeplessness, led to taking a few extra xanax (which I usually only took about 1/week) just to finally get some sleep. The next day, I passed out (for the first time in my life, and I'm 60), so OD landed me in the ER for 2 nights. The week after, I realized that the insomnia was from the Celexa, when writing bills, my usually-precise handwriting got jittery, and quit it immediately (after 3 weeks). God, this drug was awful for me - thought it would be like Lexapro, but never again. Can't recommend it -- side-effects too severe. Be careful. ## I'm very sorry about what you experie...

I m trying for a baby... And also suffering from depression can i take fertisure f and ssri together ## Which SSRI are you taking? I'm sorry, but I can't check the details for you, without knowing the medication involved. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! Fertisure F is just a nutritional supplement that is used to ensure a woman gets enough nutrients to help ensure a healthy pregnancy, according to the U.S. FDA, it may cause nausea, sometimes, due to its potency.

I have been on sertraline (generic of Zoloft) for ~8 months (? maybe for longer. I don't have the best memory). My current dose is 150 mg, which I've been taking for ~2 months. It's helped my anxiety but not my depression symptoms, so my psychiatrist is switching me to fluoxetine (generic of Prozac). For the first week I'm supposed to take 100 mg of sertraline and 20 mg of fluoxetine; for another week take 50 mg of sertraline and 40 mg of fluoxetine; then just take 60 mg of fluoxetine. Previously when I've switched SSRIs (with a different psychiatrist) I went completely off one before starting the other. I'm worried about the risks of taking more than one SSRI at once, does this sound dangerous or is it a safe way to switch? Has anyone done a similar thing with t...

I am so glad I found this forum, as I see I'm not the only one experiencing terrifying sleep paralysis, amongst other side effects. I have been on 20mg for about five weeks now, and am calling my doctor first thing in the morning to get off this medication immediately. Aside from three full weeks of heavy side effects (GI issues, increased Depression [I've never even had Depression!], vertigo, nausea, etc... I am now experiencing sleep paralysis, auditory hallucinations, irrational thoughts, nightmares and increased anxiety because of the sleep paralysis. I have suffered from GAD, and Panic Disorder for 15 years, and have been on various SSRI's/Benzodiazepines, and can assure you I have never, ever been this terrified of a medication in my life, nor have I EVER had such irra...

Can you just change from one to another or do you have to cross taper the med is paxil going to luvox ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? If you've been taking it for a long time, then a cross taper/titration is usually best and what most doctors will have you do to avoid any severe withdrawal and rebound effects. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Took it two months before that I took lexPro two months nothing worked what do u think ## can we switch from clorocef to klavox?

I have been on SSRIs for panic disorder for years and was recently switched from Lexapro 10mg to Viibryd 10mg. I have generally tolerated SSRIs pretty well aside from decreased libido and constant drowsiness. SNRIs have always worsened my anxiety. My doctor decided to try Viibryd because it is somewhat different from regular SSRIs and he thought it might work better for me. Anyway, I am on day 3 of the Viibryd and am having some side effects including increased heart rate with some "skips", trouble falling asleep, dizziness, muscle stiffness, and a little bit of increased anxiety at times. I also have a prescription for Klonopin which helps me get through some of these effects. I have not had any of the infamous nightmares or sleep paralysis episodes so far. Has anyone had any o...

What's an effective combination as SSRIs are contra-indicated? Bupropion just isn't efficacious. Anyone have any experience with other drugs and what are they? ## Hello, Sdarcy! How are you? I've been searching, but so far, everything I've found and checked is contraindicated with the Tikosyn. Did your doctor suggest anything else you can try? I even researched some of the antipsychotics. Tikosyn is listed by the FDA as being used to treat irregular heartbeat and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and cough. Does anyone else know of anything? ## Paxil is safe to use with Tikosyn. I am on low does for anxiety that caused PACs. On longer have premature beats.

I'm currently taking an SSRI that has made me think I could use some help from Cialis, a drug I've used in the past. However, it seems like my current insurance doesn't cover it, and both Cialis and Viagra are exorbitantly expensive. I'm wondering if I have any recourse? ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Have you checked the prices on the generics? Another idea would be to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication to replace the SSRI, that may not cause you such a side effect. The FDA lists the typical side effects of ED medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, blurred vision and stuffy nose. ## Cigna/Healthspring doesn't cover Viagra and I feel it would be very helpful to my recovery from two back surgeries that Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn Mic...

I am 46 and have been taking SSRIs for around 20 years. Tried at least 4-5 of them. I am so sick of all the side effects. You get rid of one aspect of a mental problem and find out the med causes a new problem of its own. I went on Effexor for awhile and didn't like it cognitively, so I am looking for something else. I guess the major things I'm looking to get away from are sexual side effects and weight gain and sleepiness. I tried Zoloft, and instantly couldn't climax. Got off it in 2 weeks. I saw Viibryd is one of the SSRIs with the least sexual side effects, so thought I'd go for it. I think it might be causing dry mouth. I just got a cold and it's been hell finding moisture to breathe. I woke up so dry and breathing through my mouth that I called an advice nurse...

I have been on many SSRI's, SNRI's, Anti-psychotics etc....all of my life. I will be 55yrs old, and even after both my preganancies had post partum depression severly. On my second preganancy when doctor found out I was preganant decided to switch me from valium right away, to 10mg of imipramine daily, so would not get the depression as bad as did with my 1st pregnancy. I have been battling with it most of my life ever since the birth of my children. I developed sever panic attacks at the age of 28yrs after a severe and drastic hysterectomy. With bowel, bladder, vaginal reconstruction. I became post-menopausal right away. Put me on Prozac of 20-40mg with Ativan than switched me to clonazapam. Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has been prescribed both an SSRI (Prozac) plus pain management such as MS Contin with breakthrough percocet? My husband needs something for depression but I didn't know if it would be safe to take (they tried him on zoloft and it caused him to have horrible back pain). Thanks for any experiences!! ## There is a possible interaction, you can read about it on the University of Chicago Medicine site. They warn about the risk of Serotonin syndrome. It isn't that they cannot be taken together, but a doctor should be closely monitoring the person if they care combined. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you!! I've read the studies and of course a doctor is prescribing but they don't know everything (I've been a registered nurs...

I was wondering if any of you out there have come off of an SSRI and had severe panic attacks that lasted a month or longer. I am in such distress. I wasn't taking any sort of medication a few years ago and was fine. I almost went through a break-up last summer, got super depressed and my primary care physician started me on Viibryd. At first, it worked great, I felt happy and alive and things smoothed over with the boyfriend. Once he bumped me up to 40 mg however this past November I started to notice I was having panic attacks every now and then. I decided I wanted to get off of it and he cut me down to 20mg for a week, then 10 mg for a week and then nothing. The more I got off of Viibryd, the more panic attacks I would have. I would especially get them while driving. I would get ...
