After my doc saw the severity of my herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylothesis, deg.disc disease (severe), I was given Fentanyl (Duragesic) patches 50mg. My doc told me to start it 24 hrs after removing my Butrans patch i had on for only 3 weeks. Im eager to get this one on asap for pain relief. IF i put the Fentanyl patch on, would it work since i took off the Butrans patch 16 hours ago? Also, do you think i will be likely to overdose if i have never taken it before? ## Hello, Christine! How are you? No, the Fentanyl patch will not work, if you put it on sooner than your doctor has instructed, so you'd just be wasting a patch. The Buprenorphine in the Butrans takes a much stronger grip on your opiate receptors than other narcotics, so the Fentanyl will not be able to have an ...

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. Got Cortisone shots in my lumbar region and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-500 tb and Tramadol ER 200 mg from my rheumatologist. What is the Tramadol for? I'm starting a new job tomorrow and am not sure if I should take it until I know how they may effect me. Should I wait until this weekend to start? ## Hi Wendy, Tramadol is most commonly used for treating moderate to moderately severe pain, but has a wide range of other applications, including treatment for restless leg syndrome, acid reflux, and fibermyosis. If you're starting a new job of any kind, I would probably suggest waiting till you get off work to experiment with how these medications really affect you deep down. This way you can at least be more comfortable going into work knowing whether...

My rheumatologist recently administered cortisone shots in my lumbar region and also prescribed Acetaminophen-Hydrocodone 500-5 tablets along with Tramadol ER 200mg for my ankylosing spondylitis. I have been taking Alprax0.50mg for the past ten years OD. But now i am not having deep sleep as i am a spondyloarthropathy patient. As per our Doctor advice i am taking Zolpeace 5mg OD along with Alprax0.50mg. But there is no effect. Along with these two tablets i am also taking Ativan 1mg OD. Will there be any side effect on this?. Please give your advice. ## Definitely there are side effects. But now ur body is habitual of these drugs. In later stages as the time progresses you need to increase the dosage of these drugs to get the same effects. Memory loss is a very common side effect, drowsiness, sleeping disorder, sudden unconsciousness, headache & many more. Better to avoid taking these drugs. I am taking Glycomet 1000mg -sustained release twice a day. But I find many a times that the whole tablet coming out in the stool. What is the reason? Does it mean that the system has not absobed the medicine? What is the way out? ## I am aged 63 and suffering from type 2 diabetes. i have been taking 50mg of hyrdocodone per day for the last 6 months and it is not working for the pain anymore. I have ankolying spondylitus. My Dr has put me on 15mg morphine extended release 2x per day. I took 15mg about 3 hours ago and so far not relief. My questions is will this work for me as I was taking 50mg of hyrocodone per day. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? The ER Morphine is released slowly, over a period of 12 hours, it is not released all at once, like the Hydrocodone was, so you will not feel the same effect. There is also a change that this dosage isn't high enough for you. Have you informed your doctor of the issue? Though, it is usually best to give it a week, or so, to see if things improve. The FDA warns that these medications carry the ri...
