Hiya, I have had severe acne since about 9 years old (I know, started early) and it has been a constant battle. I have had every antibiotic and treatments under the sun and the only one that seemed to do anything was Roaccutane which I was on for nearly 2 years. Of course, 6 months after coming off, my acne came back and so my dermatologist suggested trying Spironolactone as he didn't feel comfortable with me being on Roaccutane any longer. If they are in the original factory sealed bottle, they are generally good for 3 to 4 years, but once in a pharmacy dispensing bottle, where they have been exposed to the elements that cause degradation, they expire one year from the date of dispensing. Torsemide also often forces potassium out of the body, so when someone's potassium is low or if they don't hold normal levels of it, the Spironolactone might be prescribed instead, since it tends to help the body hold on to potassium. And no, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so, you shouldn't take both at the same time, because that could create the risk of severe dehydration and kidney damage.
