I am feeling heavy headed, drowsiness and I am not able to do my daily job. An MRI was taken recently for my brain and spine for cervical spondolosis and all reports are normal. I am diabetic with high bp, and hypothyroidism and have those problems in control. My age is 57. Recently I have undergone treatment for a cataract in my right eye. Please suggest me a suitable treatment and what type of doctor should be consulted.

I had a hemangiopericytoma removed from my cervical spine about 6 years ago and have had nothing but problems since. I can barely move my neck, have terrible cervical headaches (occipital mainly) and cannot find relief. I have tried the gamut of pain meds, nerve pills and muscle relaxers, with no success. Tried all the therapies, alternative options and am at "my wits end". I am on Gabapentin currently and cannot stand the weight gain, dumb feeling and irritability. HELP?!!! ## I am so very sorry about how miserable you are, that's terrible. Are you seeing a specialist, such as a pain management specialist? In some cases like yours a spinal stimulator, or implanted drug infusion machines might help, according to the NIH and many will try them, once other options have been ex...

Problems are:- 1) tingling in hands while on cycling and stiffness in my foot, chronic spondylosis in shoulder and spine. 2) Slight increase in B.P. 3) Sleeplessness. Medicine taken:- 1) S-nerve (pregabalin & mecobalamin) 2) Concor AM 5 3) Revotril 0.5mg My first two problems are now controlled but I can not sleep without taking Revotril. Kindly guide me as to whether it would be dangerous by habituating this medicine. ## Hi Ranjit, Based on your description, it's difficult to say whether or not your line up of medications is really safe to take habitually for the long run. However, if you find that they are actually helping your condition and not causing any bothersome side effects... then in my opinion, you should weight out the pros and cons using your own best judgement and ...

## I am having problems when I started taking this drug, now that i am off it it has left severe back problem in which i need help out of bed every morning. ## The problem could actually be caused by your stopping the drug abruptly. Since it reduces inflammation, it might have been reducing it in an area of your spine where you have damage or swelling and then by stopping it, your body is unprepared to regulate that condition on its on, kind of a withdrawal effect, and the pain and inflammation has gotten worse. I would recommend speaking to your doctor so they can check out the problem and see exactly what is causing it.

After epidural injections for pain in my spine/neck, I experienced extreme reactions to fentanyl anesthetic while in the post op. recovery room but the medical staff had no idea what to do or even the equipment to do it with. The medical staff seemed utterly helpless and suspected I had heart problems or some other "mysterious" condition and wanted me to go see my regular doctor or go to an emergency room RIGHT AWAY! I did go to my regular doctor who said I was just having a drug reaction (it was already wearing off) and I should not be given that drug again. I have since researched Fentanyl anesthetic and it's side effects-complications and every one of my symptoms is mentioned in the medical literature up to and including the possible Fentanyl antagonist that the surgical ...

Hi, I wanted to ask if any of you have had any success or made worse having steroid epidural shots? I had one 8 weeks ago for the first time. I don't have major spine problems but did get thrown out of a car in a wreck. My dx is lupus, hernia, lymphadenopathy with B symptoms, and my foot is numb. Lupus has an entire list of symptoms so I won't engage on that. I'm trying to explain the best of my ability how I feel after my first inj. I have pain at times like it's heart attack symptoms, I have fluid retention, it hurts to move my neck, it hurts to walk and I've currently been unable to run our company in the last 3 weeks. I am so much more weaker too. I know this was to help joint pain but I feel it's set off more problems than I bargained for. Also prior to the ...

My best friend, who introduced me to her surgeon that performed my 360 fusion, was recently forced to return to PM due to pain from numerous back problems including but not limited to Bone spurs, bulging discs, curvature of the spine and more..., Her PM clinic is about an hour away from mine. Anyhow, he had her on Oxycodone 15 MG IR 4 times a day and he recently added Oxycontin 30mg ER twice a day due to her not having much relief from just the 15 mg pills. It made all the difference in her level of pain and I had my friend back :) When she went to fill at the pharmacy (CVS) she has always used due to them being next door to the clinic, she was told she would have to go to a pharmacy in her county (next exit down) as could no longer fill for her out of county (we are in TN and first we ...

I've been suffering from chronic pain issues since 2006. I recently started going to a new clinic since January of this year. I have fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, neck issue's, spine problems that start from my neck down my upper middle and lower spine, nerve damage in my left arm that starts from my neck down my upper arm and in the hands & fingers. The pain is horrible and never goes away, this includes my entire body, along with insomnia, depression, anxiety, RA, arthritis, carpal tunnel and from time to time it causes shooting pain in my legs. Also for my anxiety I get 90 clonazep g and methacarbamol for back spasms. So far this regime seems to help but 6 dilaudid a day along with 1 30mg oxycontin and 1 kadian are barely getting me through the month. I ...

Taking bystolic and my body is becoming more and more stiff. I now have trouble bending and straightening my spine. I'm walking hunched over. Anyone else have this experience on bystolic ## I didn't experience it with Bystolic, but I did have one blood pressure medication that caused very similar problems for me, it made me so miserable that I had to stop taking it. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and dry cough as listed by the FDA. There is, however, no reason to remain miserable. Please see your doctor, there are other medications you can try. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for reply. I will follow up on this with my doctor.

In Tijuana today I had 2 teeth pulled. They prescribed Mavidol Ketorolaco for 5 days. I already take Vicodain for pain in my lower back where surgery went wrong and now have bone against spine. Is there any problems using both pain medicines> ## Hello, Gwen! How are you? The Ketorolac is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. There are no interactions listed between it and the Vicodin, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. It can also increase the risk of bleeding, so there are some risks to taking it after extractions. However, you might not need both, the Vicodin might do well for alleviating the pain from the extractions. It's actually what many dentists offices prescribe for that. This is a nar...

i have dice, problems an siatic,,i think thay are good to sleep ,,but on a high dose,,7.5. ## Hi mando, Cyclobenzaprine is a pretty potent muscle relaxant and works by blocking pain sensations, so I can certainly see how it helps you get a good nights rest. Are you currently taking anything else with it? If you're into natural alternatives I'd recommend trying out lavender essential oil and mixing it with a lotion to rub onto your spine/back prior to sleeping. It may help promote healing in any areas that have inflammation related to disc problems. Lavender is also very calming and acts as a muscle relaxant too. Let me know if you'd like any more information on this!

Hey All! I hope everyone is well today! I'm trying to find a new doctor in SouthEast, MI; to replace my current doctor at the UofM Spine Clinic. (Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area in Washtenaw County to be more precise) I'm a 25 yr old that has been having problems w/my sciatic nerve, lower back & a lot of weird spasms on the left side of my body. Mostly it's the sciatica that's gotten me to the point where I can barely stand, walk, sit and it's agony to do quite a few normal day-to-day activities w/o help. When I first started seeing Dr.Issar, she put me on neurotion. Which made me too dizzy to function. When I asked to be taken off the meds is when my problems started. I tried calling b/c upon weaning off the neurotion, I had a drastic increase in my pain levels & i...

The drugs are affecting my brain function. Why isn't surgery preferred to treat my Spondylolisthesis? ## Hello, Barbara! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problems you are experiencing. What medications are you currently taking? As so surgery, when it comes to a structure such as the spine, there is only so much that can be done to surgically treat any given condition. Trying to push it too far, surgically, could cause worse damage to you than the condition itself. What types of issues are you having that are causing you to question your brain function? The FDA warns that most opiates may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. They also carry the risk of being habit forming. ## Hydrocodone 325/10 four times daily. I have dege...
