I had an A-fib episode in 2008 and was put on 120 MG of Sotolol taken twice a day (240 MG total daily consumption). Tested well with this drug during 4 day hospital stay and never seemed to have any side effects. Took Sotolol until 2014; then my EP said I no longer needed it if I avoided my A-fib trigger...spicey food. All went well until recently when I had a return episode (first in over 8 years) and was hospitalized and put back on the same dosage of Sotolol and have now been on it for 23 days. This time I am experiencing bad side effects: dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea and overall weakness. Will these side effects dissipate over time? (They disappear every evening when my morning dosage wears off.) Cardiologist suggested I reduce dosage to 160 MG per day but I fear the A-fib...

Does anyone know which of the two (Sotolol and Bisoprolol) is less likely to cause side effects such as "numbness and tingling in arms and legs and cold feet" and "excess sweating"? I am 72 years old and had a quad heart bipass 10 weeks ago. On the other hand, which of the two would be more appropriate. ## Based on my observation of each drug's side-effect profile, I would think that "Sotalol" is less likely to cause such symptoms.
