Snorting Oxycodone

IV been snorting ativan for about 3yrs now and I would like to know if anyone has any information on what the long term effects of doing this is gonna be for me? I'm scared to stop because when I try my face hurts and my nose feels raw until I do it again, someone have any ideas? By the way I only do it once a day in the morning, and I do three 0.5's a day, everyday. T-you.

what's the rundown on these? iv possible? never seen before, small , pink,round ## I have no idea whether IV is possible with these, but I've been told by a friend in med school that snorting, smoking, ect is completely pointless because these are immediate release. They will not hit you any harder. ## they are snort-able, shoot-able (IV/IM/peritoneally), shove-able (buttplugging), smoke-able, and swallow-able (the 5 S's). the only "safe" way is to eat them as prescribed, but you can sniff them for a higher bio-availability (less drug is wasted). I am prescribed the 10mg oxycodone 10mg and the only ones I've ever seen have always been the KVK Mfg brand ones with the k 56 imprint. Recently Rite Aid has switched to the Nesher Pharmaceuticals ones that are more flat and a lighter pink with the NP 12 imprint. Well, long story short I take all my oxy nasally, I've tried every brand, every mg, and these nesher ones are like no other. They are super hard to crush, and they burn when you snort them and hurt my throat. They also get all gummed up in my nasal cavity and I end up spitting up pink loogies the whole time (sorry to be gross) now can anyone tell me if this is done purposely by the mfg? if I insufflated 30mg of oxycodone at 11am on Wednesday wil I be able to pass a saliva swab on Friday at 10am? I am 30 years old, 5'3" tall, weigh about 108 lbs and have a pretty fast metabolism. Hi, Does snorting the Oxycodone non gel IR cause problems in the lungs? Sometimes my pain is so bad I may snort one or two but only once a day if at all. Can it affect my lungs? ## Yes. There are inert ingredients in the pills that will be in your lungs. These inert ingredients are meant to absorb orally, not be in the lungs. My sister just died of ards. She insufflated oc once a day for 6 years. She took oc for chronic pain. She was very sick for three days before she died. Ards is an event where the lungs become horrifically inflamed. It is difficult to overcome even in ICU. The pills last longer when taken orally anyway.

Based on the duration of use and frequency taken, I'd imagine that individual being on the higher end of the spectrum (4 days) from the last dose, as opposed to 2 days. There's gotta be somebody out there who has tried something right please share the knowledge I know if there's a will there's a way {edited for safety reasons} ## The new Oxycontin OP has actually been designed to prevent this type of use. Even if you try to crush it for snorting, it contains a substance the enables it to still retain its time released properties and prevent the release of all the medication, at once. I know they are myths and old wives tales that say you can, but they don't really work, As to how long it stays in your system, it depends how long you have been taking it and how much you have been taking. If you were taking a normal dosage, as prescribed, on a regular basis, then Oxycodone only stays in your body for a little over 24 hours. can you snort percoset 30 time release ## It isn't safe to try to snort any tablet, since they aren't formulated to be used that way. Tablets contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, especially when it comes to time released formulations. These fillers are normally just expelled as waste, but when you snort them you create the risk of blockages occurring in your sinuses and lungs and the latter may lead to reduce lung capacity and respiratory arrest.
