In about 1 to 2 hours after taking this drug I get the chills and shakes and all my joints ache. I also get very queasy. I have been fighting this for 5 days now. Can you help me? I've been talking this medication for 4 days now for uti. It so far has made me tired and metallic taste in my mouth. It has made me sensitive to the sun. Smz Tmp DS 800 160 was prescribed along with steroids to treat a mold infection I had in my sinuses. Had great difficulty with digestion during the 15 days prescribed, and had to take over the counter medicine to alleviate severe heartburn, and ice cream for stomach discomfort. After completion of prescription 5 months ago and to date, have been left with a condition of Lactose Intolerance (never experienced before) and one or two days a month of severe fatigue and some joint pain. I have a 10 day prescription of SMZ/TMP D'S 800-160 TAB INTERPHARM. I'm having lower abdomen pains, some slight vaginal bleeding. I have sunburn also! Since taking SMZ/TMP DS 800 I've had problems with ligaments of my shoulders and knee. I mentioned this to my doctor & she said it is a side affect but said nothing else about it. i'm having stomach pains,can't eat ,cold,headachs ## Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim, the active ingredients in Bactrim, is an antibiotic and it has been known to cause those types of side effects, however, some could also be due to the infection that is being treated. I took the last tablet of tis medication yesterday. About 5ish this afternoon, I began itching and broke out in hives all over. I noticed after using this for a severe upper respiratory infection i have had nothing but problems. I have had irregular bleeding and I'm not on any type of birth control and my cycles have always been regular. I also have been having pains in both of my hips expesully when I try to jog.
