Is it ok to take 1 ALEAVE pm every night for muscle pain and help too sleep? ## Hello, Spice guy! How are you? I'm sorry you're in pain and having trouble sleeping. Over the counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories are really only intended for short-term occasional use, because there can be risks associated with their long-term use, such as liver damage or stomach damage. The best thing to do would be to use it for a short period of time, while waiting to see your doctor to get too the root of the problem and find a proper and safer solution. The FDA lists possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

What would happen if i were to take six L437 pm pills at once? ## The medication you're describing marked "L437 PM" is identified as Pain relief PM extra strength, containing: Acetaminophen 500 mg + Diphenhydramine 25 mg. You're talking about taking 6 of these tablets at once, but if you only took 2 of them you would've already reached the maximum safe dose of Acetaminophen (in a 24hr period); the main concern here being liver damage and other symptoms associated with overdosing. May I ask why anyone would feel the need to take this many? Or are you simply not aware of other treatment options for your condition? ## I saw a young girl take a half bottle of Acetaminophen and her eyes were Red and Black. Looked like something or someone from the X Files. This Teen had L...

I have for a month now experienced pain in my left side around and under my lower rib cage to the point my husgand cant lay his arm around me at night. Cat scan did not pick up anything in that area but did pick up ovarian cysts. I do however have sleep apnea but am allergic to the machine and latex. What is the benefit of my taking lyrica and is there a generic equivalent. I do not have good insurance as I explained to my Dr. and even w/ins this is $75.oo for the low dose and he wanted me to gradually increase it. Is there another option? ## Elizabeth - your symptoms sound exactly like mine but for me it's on the right side. I've been taking Lyrica for 2 years along with pretty high doses of narcodics. I'm not sure if it's helping or not. But since I've left the Bay...

Is there a doctor out there that can prescribe these for me. I suffer from moderate to severe back pain. I had my lower intestine(complete) taken out in 2003, along with 5 hernia surgery's and do not have very good abdominal support. I also have arthritis developing on lower vertebre and up on my neck. I have hard time sleeping at night because of this. Anybody who can help? I am only 45 years old. ## Hi Gary, I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in locating pain management doctors within your general area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for som...

I read that not many people use doxepin...I have roaming body pain after a few hours of sleep...Because of an ele., burn of 13,800 volts back in 1991...I have tried to slowly get off the pill...but with in 2 or 3 weeks my night time pain is with me all night...Dose any of you use this pill for the same reason...pain...I have used as high as 150 mg ... but have been on 75mg for 10 years now... ## Doxepin is typically a sleep aid, I have been on as high a dose as 300 mg a day. Pain is better controlled by gabapentin or some of the newer drugs like lyrica or cymbalta. I know about pain as I have fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, a screwed up knee and nueroma in my feet. You seriously need to speak with your doctor or a pharmacist. Pain can be overcome with the right meds.

Neck/ back pain won't let me sleep its so bad. Have not had any pain meds for 3 weeks and that was only 20 5/325s. Help Please as AZ is a challenge these days ## Hello, Mat! How are you? I am very sorry that you're in pain. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require pain medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist. Do you have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that would most likely be the easiest way of finding the help you need. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

My son is an ex H addict turned alcoholic who was diagnosed with MS. He was given this drug as one of the many pills he takes. He abuses her meds, terribly. Lately besides him seeming like he is "high" he is having episodes where he is hallucinating...talking to dead people, imagining people are at his house and trying to rob him..and so on. Lately he sleeps all day and is up all night. We went to his apartment and it looked trashed and he was in such a deep sleep we thought he was dead. those pills were spilled all over the place. Will these "episodes" come from abusing these IP 102 pills or should I be worried about something else. Please get back to me. ## This tablet contains 300mgs of Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of...

im always in alot of pain so i take trmadol for pain but i cant sleep at night so i need to take zzzquil but i dont know if it would be safe. ## Hi, Julie! How are you? The Diphenhydramine in the Zzzquil can cause elevated levels of Serotonin and so can the Tramadol, so it's best not to mix them, unless your doctor says it's okay for you to do so. If your serotonin level goes too high, you can develop serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. Learn more Tramadol details here. Learn more Zzzquil details here. And FYI for anyone looking to save some money, Diphenhydramine is the same ingredient in Benadryl and the store brand/generic equivalents, so you actually don't have to pay the price for this one. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is this a narcotic? I'm wondering whether it will make me sleepy if I take it? If so, I don't want to take it as I have kids I have to take care of. ## Frontida BioPharm lists this tablet as containing 5mgs of Cyclobenzaprine, it is a muscle relaxant that is used to treat the pain and spasms associated with muscle sprains, strains, and injury. It is not a narcotic, but the FDA does warn that it may cause drowsiness as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Standing for long periods also triggers the same effect. I get no relief. I have no insurance but am desperate for relief and would pay an office visit if they would prescribe a narcotic for pain witch seams to be the only med that works,I have tried everything with no results. Hello I just moved to dallas tx from Oxford Connecticut in feb and I have not been able to find a reasonable enough dr to put me back on my old prescription. I was hit by a truck in my teens and my left leg was shattered and my lower back was severely damaged. I was working with a roofing company for 8 years in CT but I was severely injured last may on the job so I am now in the process of receiving workmens comp. My new injuries are due mainly to my childhood mishap so I was and am pretty much screwed for life. My dr in ct was prescibing me Percocet 30 mg for pain and xanax to help me sleep at night and I was pretty good for the past 4 yrs and was never really in much pain as I'm in now. I really need to find a good dr soon so if anyone knows one plz let me know

I was prescribed hydroxyzine for sleep but noticed that it killed my arthritis pain. Why does an antihistamine kill my pain? ## Hello, Rachel! How are you? It could be due to its sedative like effects, since a lot of pain is caused by an excitation of the nerves. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. If it works for your pain, that's awesome!!! Is there anything else I can help with?

I was given HYDROCODONE-APAP 7.5-500 tabs today.I've read they are used for sleep, however I don't feel that effect. I usually take Ambien or Seraquil for sleep. OK to combine?? ## Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen (APAP) is a narcotic pain medication, generic for Vicodin. They are not generally used for sleep, however, one of the side effects can be drowsiness. Due to the effects of sedation and circulatory depression, the medications you asked about should not be combined without your doctor's approval and supervision of your condition. Have you spoken to them about this?

Help, any solutions to the 24 hour sleepiness, ## sleepiness due to what? ## My 14 year old daughter is trying Lyrica for serious migraine headaches. She has to take it at bedtime because she gets so sleepy from it. It never wore off. The plan was to increase the dose to one in the morning as well as at bedtime; however, she was never able to tolerate that. We tried it in the morning for well over two weeks but she could not get past the sleepiness. ## Yes it is Lyrcia, I have discussed it with my physician, we have tried a 25 mg dose, it did not help the burning pain, the lowest dose I can take and have it work is 50 x 2 day. I have tried numerous drugs over the last 4 years, this has been the best one yet, takes away all the tenderness, burning, belive it or not I have had adverse rea...

My mother was advised to try Nucynta for pain relief. The doasge she is trying is 100mg. She can take a totoal of 600 mg per 24 hr period. If she does not take at least 1 while sleeping will it take longer in the AM to get relief? ## Nucynta contains the active ingredient Tapentadol and is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. As to pain relief, many of these medications are taken on an as needed basis, while they can work better if taken regularly, it is not really necessary to wake her in the middle of the night to take a dose, it will still help to alleviate her pain if she just takes it when she arises in the morning. The difference in the length of time it takes to help relieve her pain will not be really significant. The only time you really have to worry about such a precise d...
