I found some tablets in the back of my son's sock draw and i really would like to know what it is and the harm it can cause? ## I think its a sleeping tablet, but am not sure. ## If it has PN25 it’s Phenergan/Promethazine, an antihistamine. If plain blue, it could be Valium. ## Patsy is correct, a tablet with the PN 25 marking is a 25mg Phenergan tablet which contains the active ingredient Promethazine, it is most commonly used to treat, or prevent nausea, and vomiting. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and dry mouth. The FDA actually classifies Promethazine as an antihistamine and it's most commonly used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting, though drowsiness can be a side effect of it, along with dizziness and dry mouth. blue round pill with pn25 imprinted ## I can't find a listing for this, was it found in the US or somewhere else? Does anyone else know what this is? ## I do not know for sure what it is either, the only clue I have is that there is a related discussion thread on this site titled , which describes the same pill. So is it Ibuprofen ? I can't say for sure just because the title says Ibuprofen in it. It's just another clue to this strange mystery. ## Not sure if its the same in america as it is in australia, but PN25 stamped on a a skyblue pill means its Phenergan. its tiny and white and round with a tiny x on it. was told it was a sleeping pill. makes you feel like youve had a 5th of jack after a few minutes. ## This tablet contains 25mgs of Promethazine, the active ingredient in Phenergan, it is most commonly used to help prevent or treat nausea. Common side effects may include: dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and headache. Read more: Since it does cause drowsiness as a side effect, it is something given for mild insomnia and the dizziness probably explains the other effect you felt. Does anyone know of the availability of Tardyl? Tardyl was used mostly in Eastern Europe. It is composed of Amobarbital, Glutethimide (Doriden) and Promethazine in a three layered tablet. I believe it was made by Extractum Pharmaceuticals, and is indicated for insomnia. The dosage was 125mg of Amobarbital and Glutethimide (Doriden) and I believe 25 mg of Promethazine, all in one tablet. A little overkill in my opinion, please pardon the pun. ## I am in the US and I know Tardyl was used in Hungary. It's a combination of Glutethimide (Doriden), Amobarbital, and Promethazine. Prescribed for insomnia, it was made in a triple layered tablet. I know that these babies will definitely put you to sleep, and too many you'll be sleeping for good.
