name of sleeping tablets starting with A ## Hi helen, Ambien is the most common brand name I can think of in this drug category. In clinical trials Ambien has not adequately demonstrated effectiveness in maintaining sleep (unless delivered in a controlled-release form); however, it is effective in initiating sleep. Another brand name is Ativan, which is more geared towards relaxing and relieving anxiety. Is there a specific name you're looking for? ## Sleeping pill dene ke bad kitna der tak eska aser rahata hai......plz tell me

I got banned from the MDC whilst on 45mls. I went to the doctor and she gave me Tramadol, Pregablin and oramoroph. I'm already on zopiclone, Valium and a few other meds. Can anyone please tell me how much Oramorph I should take for withdrawals. Dr said a teaspoon but my tolerance is way too high for that to have any effect. otc sleeping pills ## Pale orange little pill nothing on it silky smooth ## I'm afraid that in this case, at least so far, I have no guesses. Even knowing it's an over the counter product, with the basic description and letter M leaves it open to many possibilities ranging from actual medications to herbal or Ayurvedic products. I can however, add one warning, that regardless of what their source or origination, all of them are known to cause dependence in some people, which means terrible bouts of insomnia, when someone tries to stop taking them. Does anyone have any idea of what this might have been?

I suffer from insomnia and have been asked to take some Zolpidem to see if it will help. Thank you for any feedback from others who've also been on this medication. ## It can help for short-term treatment of insomnia. Though, the NIH warns that it carries the risk of causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, sleep actions, funny taste in mouth, hallucinations, and sleep actions. Have you tried taking it, yet? Are you on any other medications?

My husband will not take his sleeping pill. He stays up all night. Should I crush it up and put it in his food ## Hello, Bump! How are you? If he is of normal sound mind then no, you can't do that. It would actually be considered illegal. I know you're worried about him, but if he just doesn't want to take it and prefers to deal with his insomnia, then that is his right. If he isn't of sound mind and you are supposed to make sure that the takes it, then whether or not you can crush it and give it to him that way depends on which one he is supposed to be taking, since some of them are time released. Which one has he been prescribed and what is the dosage? ## It starts with a A. Ambiance I think That's how u spell it ## Did you mean Ambien? It is used for the short-ter...

It is used for the short term treatment of insomnia. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, odd taste in mouth, and hallucinations. Liza, it would be best to consult his doctor to discover the root of the problem. How old is he? Is he on any medications? Does he have any diagnosed medical disorders?

Can Urbanol be used as a sleeping tablet? ## Hello, Jade! How are you? Urbanol contains the active ingredient Clobazam, which is a benzodiazepine derivative and yes, they are sometimes used to treat sleep issues, since they can cause drowsiness and sedation as side effects. This medication may also be habit forming and could cause additional side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Learn more Clobazam details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi. I am currently using the Urbanol 10mg, and Lexamil 5mg. I have just started on both meds, and I am only drinking half of my lexamil. Would anybody reccomend Mirtazapine for uses of getting to sleep at night as both me and my grandmother struggle with getting to sleep over the whole week i get approx 3-4hrs total and have suffered sleep deprovation resulting in regular halucinations i just want a decent nights sleep ## Hello, Haribo86! How are you? It may help, but it will likely take several weeks. When you first start taking it, you may experience the side effect of ROL, which is REM onset latency, it causes you to spend less time in REM sleep than usual and it can take 3 to 4 weeks for things to improve and for that side effect to go away. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache and weight gain. Has it been prescribed for you?

I am addicted to restyl since last 10 years. I take 10mg every night. Now its not affecting...i dont get sleep with it. I have developed insomia so I started on zolfresh 10mg. I get sleep with zolfresh but my body needs restyl also or i get palpitations and vomiting sensation. Can i take both together? ## What is the name of a best quick action sleeping tablet? ## Hello, Rony! How are you? It isn't really a good idea to take them both, due to the fact that they can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which may include lowered heart, low blood pressure and breathing problems, as listed by the U.S. The Restyl carries the risk of being habit forming, so you may need to get your doctors help to stop taking it. A slow taper is usually best. Thappa, I am sorry, but I am n...

hi, my doctor prescribed hydroxyzine 25 mg for sleeping. I stopped taking them for more than 4 months, now I have trouble sleeping and I was wondering if It would be dangerous to start takeing them again? ## Hi ducky, Sorry to hear about your troubles with sleep. In my honest opinion, it's probably not dangerous to start taking something that you were recently prescribed 4 months ago, if you're using it for the same indications as before. However, it would still be wise to discuss this with your doctor first if you have any concerns pertaining to the dosing, potential side effects, and other prescribing information. From what I could gather, Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine most commonly used to treat allergies, anxiety, and motion sickness. But it also has what appears to be an ...

Whenever I try to sleep, there is always this tendency of me being conscious of my surroundings. Whenever sleep is about to come there is this repealing force in my head that I started noticing 2 weeks ago as a result of a police assault and accident in less than 24hrs. Please I need advice..... I can't wait to sleep normal. The feeling is exhausting.

I have started taking Newcita Plus to treat my depression. I am on the 10mg tablets and can't sleep at night. Is this normal? ## How long have you been taking it? In the initial stages, before your body adjusts to the medication, medications in this class can cause disruption to your sleep, due to the fact that they can delay the onset of the REM stage of sleep, according to the NIH. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and weight changes. It should improve after about 4 to 5 weeks of taking it, once your body adjusts.

My boyfriend has been on vyvanse for 8 months. Then his new doctor took him off of them and put him on a depression med. All he wants to do is sleep. He doesn't clean or anything any more. He said he wants his life back but he doesn't know what to say to his doctor to get them back. ## Hello, Ana! How is your boyfriend doing? How long ago was the change to his medications made? He could be experiencing withdrawal effects from stopping the Vyvanse, since it's a stimulant, as well as side effects from starting the antidepressant. He may just need to wait a few weeks for his body to adjust, unless his doctor feels otherwise. Other symptoms, as listed by the FDA, may include dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.

I have started Lyrica and I am up to 3 X 75mg capsules a day. There are several complications and they are too lengthy to go into here. But I have found that my sleep episodes during the day and early evening have skyrocketed. I just curious as to what others have experienced taking this dose of Lyrica. ## It has been known to cause drowsiness as a side effect, according to FDA reports, as well as nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes. But, it shouldn't cause sleep episodes that make you crash out unexpectedly. Are you on any other medications? Were you experiencing sleep episodes, before taking it? ## Yes, but it is a complicated story. I had been on a BI-PAP for about 17 years. The problem it was causing was acid reflux and he kept reducing it to as low as he could go...

my son started taking clozapine a month ago. He is supposed to be taking 300mg a day in three segments. I can't even get him awake long enough to take all of it. When i tried to give him the 200 at nite he gets sick and throws up. He won't eat befor he takes it either, very rebellious. He also takes depakote, xanax, propranalol and paxil. He has high anxiety levels and is still delusional. He wants to be delusional when it is fun, but it's not always fun.He is totally secluded except for his family, which is only mom,dad and sister. He has no interest in nothing since he started taking it. ## Have you talked to his doctor about these issues? I'm not a doctor myself, but from what I know about medications, it certainly sounds like he might need some medication adjustments...

I started on 5mgs of Brintellix in February. All my anxiety was gone after the first few days but my depression remained bad. I gradually brought my dose up to 20mg 6 weeks ago and yesterday my depression was almost gone. I also have roller-coaster downs on this tab. Hopefully it's kicked in. The only thing is I can't sleep. I take Zolpidem 10mg at 12am and Urbanol 10mg when I wake up at 3:30am. My sleep is restless as I look after my mom and dad in their 80's. My mom has silent stroke dementia, so my day is very stressful. I'm in a bad mood which is not normal for me but think it's stress from caring for my folks. I keep thinking I should try going off Brintellix and see if I'll do any better... ## Most of the medications in this class can cause that for a few w...

I am on day 2 of chantix and I was wondering when will it really start to work? This may sound crazy but I felt different on day 1. But I wanted to know when did it really kick in for all of you? I say day 1 was different for me due to the fact that I normally smoke a pack a day, and that day I smoked 1/2 the pack. Today, day 2, same thing but longer in between the smoking of the previous cig. ## Hello, Jojo! How are you? Most people have reported seeing an improvement at about a week in, that's when they said they really lost the desire to smoke. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, headache, difficulty sleeping and abnormal dreams. Is there anything else I can help with?

Just started 1 week ago, I have anxiety and trouble sleeping, when will this go away after 24 years of smoking. ## There's really no precise time frame that anyone can give you, a lot of it depends on you, both your body and how much you mentally stress over it. Learn more Habitrol details here. The best suggestions I can give you are to distract yourself and try some gum or mints. Have you joined a stop smoking support group? That often makes it much easier.
