I suffer from insomnia and have been asked to take some Zolpidem to see if it will help. Thank you for any feedback from others who've also been on this medication. ## It can help for short-term treatment of insomnia. Though, the NIH warns that it carries the risk of causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, sleep actions, funny taste in mouth, hallucinations, and sleep actions. Have you tried taking it, yet? Are you on any other medications?

name of sleeping tablets starting with A ## Hi helen, Ambien is the most common brand name I can think of in this drug category. In clinical trials Ambien has not adequately demonstrated effectiveness in maintaining sleep (unless delivered in a controlled-release form); however, it is effective in initiating sleep. Another brand name is Ativan, which is more geared towards relaxing and relieving anxiety. Is there a specific name you're looking for? ## Sleeping pill dene ke bad kitna der tak eska aser rahata hai......plz tell me

Advertised on tv,sleep med starting with L,for long term use I think non narcotic, without side effects of others ## my son has a sleeping problem, he usually sleeps about midnight everyday coz he find it hard to sleep, do i need to take him to a doctor or can i jst buy some sleeping meds for him at the drugstore?OJF ## To the original poster, were you possibly referring to Lunesta? It is used for the short term treatment of insomnia. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, odd taste in mouth, and hallucinations. Liza, it would be best to consult his doctor to discover the root of the problem. How old is he? Is he on any medications? Does he have any diagnosed medical disorders?

My boyfriend has been on vyvanse for 8 months. Then his new doctor took him off of them and put him on a depression med. All he wants to do is sleep. He doesn't clean or anything any more. He said he wants his life back but he doesn't know what to say to his doctor to get them back. ## Hello, Ana! How is your boyfriend doing? How long ago was the change to his medications made? He could be experiencing withdrawal effects from stopping the Vyvanse, since it's a stimulant, as well as side effects from starting the antidepressant. He may just need to wait a few weeks for his body to adjust, unless his doctor feels otherwise. Other symptoms, as listed by the FDA, may include dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.

I just started Tyvaso. I'm on my fourth day at 3 puffs 4X. My SOB has gotten worse and my o2 stats have dropped 10 points at rest. I now need o2 most of the day where I only used it while sleeping. Anyone just starting out and feel the same? ## Hello, Johnny! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. You should consult your doctor, the medication instructions do say that you should do so, if anything worsens, after you start using it. Its typical side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dry throat, dizziness, blood thinning, headache, throat pain, and edema. Are you on any other medications?

Hi. I am 30 days clean from opiate withdrawal. I spent my 1st 3 weeks on methadone and zopiclone and now changed to suboxone and azor 1mg. I'm getting bad headaches in the mornings since starting the azor. Is azor a bad combination with suboxone? It's my 1st time taking azor 1mg, but I fell it really does help with sleeping and anxiety. It's also the 1st time after 5 years that I have now stopped opiates. Please advise as this all seems new to me?! ## Both of these medications could cause headaches as side effects, according to NIH reports, but hey could also be cause from stopping the Methadone, according to NIH reports. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and weight changes. How are you doing, now? Has there been an...

My 16 months baby has had diarrhea from 16th July to today's date. After eating his food 4 times daily the stool color is sometimes yellow greenish, sometimes brown with mucus. At night he is not sleeping properly and making some sounds and getting up. From the 16th as per the Dr I started z & d suspension but there has been no improvement. On the 20th again I went for a checkup and he prescribed bacillus clausii 2 times a day. After starting bacillus clausii erceflora he is passing yellow greenish stool. And here is his stool evaluation report: Mucus- positive++ Bacteria- present Pus cell-6/8 Apart from that everything is normal. Is this OK or should we consult a doctor? Please help.

I took 3 pills accidental because I read the label wrong. I'm so worried to even go to sleep ugh. Can anything happen to me? Can I still take my sleeping pills, muscle relaxers and my pain pill wish is percocet 20mg... please help! I've never been so worried.:-( ## You'll be fine. 60 MG is still a starting dose. Perhaps be more careful next time? ;/ If it happened to me, I would still take my Percocet, sleeping pills, and muscle relaxers. ## No do NOT mix perocet with muscle relaxers and sleeping pills. It will interfere with your respiratory system. Remember what happened to Heath Ledger? First of all, 20mg of percocet is awfully high on its own. Don't compound the risk. ## And as to the other reply, 60mg IS NOT a starting dose for percocet. That is insane. They only ma...

I was just prescribed this 1x/day to treat palpitations that I frequently get after a meal. Not necessarily the increased heart rate type of palps, but more so the being able to feel every beat in my chest type of palps. What concerns me is that my sleeping heart rate is normally 48-51 and my normal blood pressure often dips to 90s/50s and on the rare occasion can fall to the high 80s/40s. I have never fainted due to low bp, but have often gotten lightheaded upon standing. With starting numbers as low as these, would it be unsafe to start taking this drug? ## Hello, Joe! How are you doing? Have you started taking it, yet? If so, what has occurred? It is odd that this would be prescribed for palpitations that only occur after a meal, since that can be a normal thing for some people due t...

so I started lo loestrin fe 3 months ago. before starting I had never missed a period and they always came on the predicted days. When I started the pills, the first 2 packs I got my period on the white and brown pills like normal. Now, I ended my 3rd pack and still no period. This morning I started my first blue pill on the 4th pack. I am just slightly worried because I never got a period and something like this has never happened to me. I had intercourse but it was always protected. plus, I am very good about taking my pills at the exact same time each day. but once in the third month I took my pill like 4 hours late. also I have had a really odd sleeping schedule, could that throw things off? I feel like I could start at any moment. I have cramps down there that feel like period cram...

At first I was a wreck, super high anxiety and depression and I cried several times a day. I think that might have been due to stopping my previous med Celexa though. I'm on day 8 of Viibryd and I really feel like it's starting to help. I take it at night when I plan on going to sleep soon because it gives me stomach upset, not really nausea either but a bad sharp burning pain above my navel. It's nothing that keeps me from sleeping but something I'd rather not deal with during the day hence the night time dose. Another con to my experience with Viibryd so far is I took my first 20 mg. dose last night and had a horrible night trying to sleep. It was hard for me to fall sleep because I had bad anxiety and mild panic attacks. Then once asleep I kept waking up. However desp...

I was on prozac for two years -- a gradual increase from 0 to 60mg. At first it worked and then it seemed to stop working (for depression). I started to become more depressed than I was before (loss of appetite, sleeping more, no motivation etc.) and my doctor decided to switch me from Prozac to Effexor saying that the transition would be fine. I went from taking 60mg of prozac one day to the next taking 225mg of Effexor. The result was not good. For the next couple days I had extremely blurred vision/ I couldn't go outside because the sun hurt my eyes. It was hard for me to go from lying down to standing up and four days after starting the 225mg I had a seizure in the shower. Despite this, my doctor insisted that this was because I wasn't eating/hydrating properly and sleeping ...

I have had depression since 2nd week of December last year. First of all the general practitioner put me on following combination i.e. fluoxetine, tripiline (spelling?) and sleeping tablet (Zolpidem). 3 months ago I went to a Psychiatrist due to bad insomnia. He put me on Mirteron, starting with 15mg, month later increased it to 30mg, and last month to 45mg – these I take at night 21h00pm. At 22h00pm I take a Zolpidem sleeping table (10mg). My sleep is average 4-5 hours (22h00pm – 03h00am). My depression has shown an increase but not desired effect. Therefore the psychiatrist prescribed Venlor 75mg. After taking my 1st tablet yesterday morning (08h00am), I felt so drugged, and I have no emotions whatsoever. Is this normal? I just want to make sure before I phone my psychiatrist

Hi. I have been on lexapro for about 3 weeks, starting out on 5mg to lessen any side effects. But I noticed after about the first couple of doses I was feeling back to my normal self and loving it. I had no side effects at all after a week so started taking the full 10mg. Still no side effects. I feel amazing, totally back to my happy and positive self. I am actually sleeping really well which for me is unheard of (so if that's a side effect I hope it stays) but maybe it's just because my mind is not racing with a million silly thoughts. Just wanted to say that lexapro is doing exactly what it should for me and I hope of people do have side effects that they stick it out because it will be worth it:) ## Hello, Shannon! How are you? I am very glad that it's working so well fo...

Since changing her blood pressure med from April to Sevikar my 84 yr old mother has had severe anxiety, difficulty sleeping and constipation. Could these effects be linked to the change? ## Yes, it could be due to a stopping the one medication and side effects of starting the other, she may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. Is she on any other medications?

8 weeks ago my mom was given 10mg citalopram for anxiety. she did not feel any side effect in the first week but afterwards starting having insomnia, upset stomach, tremor, agitation, etc. The psychiatrist increased teh dose to 20 mg daily but this did not solve anything. Today, in the 8th week she could not sleep at all in the night (she felt fresh when going sleeping even she was working the whole day) and in the morning she is feeling needles in the whole body, she is shaking + many other bad feelings. Can be that the dose is too high for her age (74 years old)?. I am afraid not to be the symptoms of a high level of serotonin. ## Those can all be side effects of Celexa. Insomnia is a classic side effect, though some people get sleepy from SSRI's. Seems to depend on the person. Th...

has anyone tried somazine for alzheimers? my wife who has the problem has not had a prescription for it ## Hello, Lenhoppy! Sorry about your wife's condition. How is she doing? Somazine/Somazina contains the active ingredient Citicoline, which is a psychostimulant and nootropic agent, it's actually available over the counter in many countries and used as an alertness aid. Learn more Somazine details here. Some studies have shown that it helps with mental alertness and improves memory, so you may want to ask her doctor about it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## A rare known fact about kicking starting the brain back into gear sound strange, but ask a professional, tablets that are made for sleeping called zopiclone / zimovane

I just started 25mg nortriptyline for migraine prevention. I was previously on amitriptyline for them and it worked so well, but I was a zombie, couldn't wake up in the morning and had gained 10 pounds. I was always hungry and never felt full. I am hoping that the noritriptyline will have less side effects (at least that's what my doctor tells me). Day 2 of not sleeping. I take the pill before bed and that must be the problem. Does anyone take it in the morning? I'm a little worried that taking it in the morning will still keep me up that night. Also, is 25mg a little high for a starting dosage? ## Hello, JaneCat!
