I have been using Hydrocodon-Acet 5/325 AMN (or AMNEA) since surgery about 6 years ago. I don't take it as a regular med although for a month in the Re-hab I was given it at least once a day as a sleep aid. At home I took it as a pain reliever only when needed and lately I have been in need of sleep and take one at bed-time about twice a week. Now it is being treated as a narcotic and I am worried about it. I haven't seen the surgeon who did the last surgery since he saw me about 3 months after and he wanted to see me one more time. Unfortunately I could not get any more transportation to see him and so I cancelled. That was about 7 months ago. At that time I was sleeping better. My daughter gave me what she says is a Tylenol. It has "gpi" on top, then a line and at the bottom it has "a5". It made me sleepy. I've taken Tylenol before but it never caused drowsiness before. My oxycodone-acetaminophen 10-325 is made by AMNEAL PHARMAC. This a different manufacturer than I had previously. I can't take them, even though severe pain (deteriorating spine, several autoimmune diseases, etc, and I break them into small pieces...they "wire me up", feel like I'm chewing the paint off the wall, and if I take more than 1/4 of one pill, even early in the day, I can't sleep, sometimes for 36 hrs or longer. I take Ambien 10 mg for sleep, I may dose for an hour, two if lucky. Is this normal for this drug? Is this a good manufacturer?
