Hypnotic (also called soporific) drugs are a class of psychoactives whose primary function is to induce sleep[1] and to be used in the treatment of insomnia, and in surgical anesthesia. When used in anesthesia to produce and maintain unconsciousness, "sleep" is metaphorical as there are no regular sleep stages or cyclical natural states; patients rarely recover from anesthesia feeling refreshed and with renewed energy. Because drugs in this class generally produce dose-dependent effects, rang...

What would happen if i were to take six L437 pm pills at once? ## The medication you're describing marked "L437 PM" is identified as Pain relief PM extra strength, containing: Acetaminophen 500 mg + Diphenhydramine 25 mg. You're talking about taking 6 of these tablets at once, but if you only took 2 of them you would've already reached the maximum safe dose of Acetaminophen (in a 24hr period); the main concern here being liver damage and other symptoms associated with overdosing. May I ask why anyone would feel the need to take this many? Or are you simply not aware of other treatment options for your condition? ## I saw a young girl take a half bottle of Acetaminophen and her eyes were Red and Black. Looked like something or someone from the X Files. This Teen had L...

For the past few months I've been taking CBD a few hours before bed and its been helping my insomnia significantly. They work really nicely for helping me fall asleep and stay asleep. In addition to helping with my sleep, its helped me with my anxiety. One of the best things I noticed about CBD compared to traditional sleeping meds is that I wake up not feeling groggy or drowsy. If you want to get off those strong and addictive sleeping pills I recommended trying CBD oil.

I've been working a regular night shift since January, but in the day time I have not been getting sleep so i started to take zolfresh 5mg per day before sleeping and it is not working effectively. Since i can't get good sleep during the day my manager is always telling me to rest. What shall i do? ## Not all medications work for everyone that tries them. The NIH lists the typical side effects for this one as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, and sleep actions. Have you tried any others? Have you consulted a doctor? For the past 2 years I have been using a cpac machine to sleep but lately I will wake up 5 or more times a night. My doctor prescribe medication for RLS, but it did not work, now he has prescribed Gabapentin 300 mg to help me sleep. What I have been reading about the medication doesn't include anything about taking it for sleeping. ## I was just given a prescription for gabapentin 300mg 90 minutes before bedtime. Can increase 300mg every night to a max of 1200. This increase is weekly. I have symptoms of restless leg syndrome but my problem is much more than RLS. I have heavy legs and problems with balance. SIDE EFFECTS ## I HAVE RETURNED MY PURCHASE OF AMBESLEEP BECAUSE IT DID NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT FOR ME..... I WAS ASKING IF IT EVER HAD DIARRHEA AFFECT ON ANYONE???? THANKS ## AmbeSleep is an over the counter supplement, so while they claim this is aids in sleep and has no side effects, neither one of these claims is actually proven and it is already well-known that some herbal supplements have just as many side effects as prescription drugs. AmbeSleep contains Valerian Root, Magnolia Bark, Melatonin, GABA, Lavender, Chamomile, Hops, Corydalis, Passion Flower, Magnesium, Vitamin B6 and Zinc. Supplements can also react adversely with other medications and cause problems with some health conditions, so you should not use this, without consulting your doctor. Has anyone used Zolpimist as a sleep aid? If so, what was your experience like, and was it any different from Zolpidem? ## It should actually be the same as someone's experience using Zolpidem, because that is the active ingredient in it, the Zolpimist is just a spray formulation of it, so it can work faster. The side effects also remain the same and may include: nausea, dizziness, funny taste and hallucinations.

I purchased this drug as a sleep aid when i was in mexico recently - told to take 10mg @ night. Will this medication work? ## Hi Madmaggie, hope you had a good time in Mexico. Can you please post more details about what medication you were given? Did it come in any packaging or have any brand name / active ingredients listed? What did the pharmacy say it was for? ## The name on the bottle says they are called ciclobenzaprina clorhidrato. And they are 10ml yellow tablets and the company name on the bottle is pharma rx. I was advised by the pharmacist to take 1 per night to help me sleep. ## Ok, the medication you have is called Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride (English translation) - which is classified as a muscle relaxer. Does anyone know what store makes this brand, it works GREAT & I can't remember where I got it... Thanks~ Sleepless in Georgia... ## Hi Sonya, Don't mean to disappoint, but based on my research there are no sleep aids being marketed by the name of "guardian nighttime sleep aid", "guardian sleep aid", or any other variation of those words. This is not to say that they don't exist, but if they do, they certainly aren't being marketed in a way that makes them easily accessible to the public eye. Do you recall whether it was some form of homeopathic remedy or something only available at health food stores? Any other specific details on the packaging/label might also help to narrow down our search... Thanks! ## Yes it's sold by Dollar Tree stores!! I b...

Hi there. I suffer from anxiety. It has its stages of being bad and mild but this whole year I have struggled to sleep. Even if I do sleep my mind is wide awake, I am never in a deep sleep and my heart is always racing. I’m just very tense all the time and the lack of sleep makes it worse. I take 2 Allergex every now and then to help me sleep. I’d take it every night if I could, which is what I’m here to ask? I’m scared of sleeping pills so I haven’t tried them yet. I’ve just recently gone onto 'stressam' for now which doesn’t help me relax when I sleep either, surprisingly. Please help. I'd love to take them every night as it’s the only thing that works. ## Allergex is listed as containing the active ingredient Chlorpheniramin...

It's hard for me to get a good night's sleep. Can this vitamin help or what vitamin should I take to have a good night's sleep? Thanx. ## Propan with iron should help a little, as it contains Vitamin B6 and B12; but I personally think it will be more effective if you combine it with Vitamin D, folic acid, and B3. It is however best to get your vitamins from food rather than supplements if at all possible. Vitamin D deficiencies contribute to sleep irregularities (this may or may not be an issue for you). When you don't have enough, it affects your pineal gland's ability to regulate your circadian rhythms. These rhythms signal the cascade of sleep hormones involved in going to sleep and waking up. B Vitamins, especially B6, is also essential to sleep hormone productio...

I take 800mg every night. Since a death in the family I am having much trouble sleeping. Can I take a prescription sleeping pill? ## Hi Nettie96, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. You could certainly look into prescription sleeping aids. Below is a link that lists a number of commonly prescribed ones: Make sure you show your doctor which medications you plan on trying and he will be able to tell you which ones do or do not have an interaction with the Carbamazepine. Another alternative for a prescription sleeping aid is medical marijuana. Depending on which state you live in, you can get yourself a medical card for it. Personally I think it can replace any sleep medication and help you to take your mind off everyday troubles; but some people have personal views against using i...

Will Risperdal (Risperidone) help me sleep? I just got taken off of Seroquel cause it makes me impotent. ## Yes, it can cause drowsiness, and sedation as a side effect, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and dry mouth. My ex-husband was on it once and he actually couldn't stay awake, so he had to stop taking it. How has it been working for you?

Is it safe to take a night time sleep aid while taking Suboxone? ## Hi Matt - which sleep aid drug or supplement are you thinking of taking? ## I was prescribed 5mg Ambien while on 2mg Subutex. I was going through some life issues and my Doctor said it was fine. I was able to get to sleep pretty quick and stayed asleep. I have also tried Trazodone but was too foggy in the morning, but it knocked me out.

this is supposed to b a sleep aide. it is oblong in shape on on side it is white on the other side it is brown. it has a gel type feel to it. there r no maekings on this pill ## If there are no markings, it is going to be difficult to determine what it contains. We can rule it out as being a manufactured, U.S. prescription product, because they are all required to have markings to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products that meets this description. Was it found/obtained in the U.S.?

plz give me name for sleep medicine? ## Not sure if you're looking for anything specific as there are a wide range of dietary supplements, prescriptions, over the counter meds, natural remedies, etc that can be used to help get a good nights sleep; but here is a small list of prescription medications that can be used as a sleeping aid: Flurazepam Quazepam Triazolam Estazolam Temazepam Clonazepam Lorazepam Alprazolam Zolpidem Zaleplon Eszopiclone Please post back if you're looking for more info on a specific medication or supplement. ## List duly noted. It should be made clear that triazolam and brotizolam have half life of only 1.5 hrs and are used primarily for inducing rapidly onset of sleep. can I take an over the counter sleep aid while taking sulfameth? ## It would really depend on the specific sleep aid and what it contains. Can you post back with more details, such as the one you usually use? Someone in another thread here wrote that their father takes four 2mg Clonazepam to get to sleep. He's having problems because he is taking Amitriptyline at the same time. Well the answer is in the question. Don't take either. Clonazepam is not a hypnotic sleeper. Amitriptyline isn't either. The latter is just rubbish to get you out of surgery and Clonazepam is a strong Benzo that helps prevent seizures in Epilepsy. Halcyon is/was a great sleeping pill. Flurazepam and Flunitrazepam allowed in Sweden is another. Phenobarbital, Tunal, and Temazepam are not so good but are a hypnotic. I hope this helps anyone else who may be seeking alternative sleep aids. ## Amitripylene is a horrible drug! Was prescribed this because I had a bad reaction to gabipinton.
