Hi im using oralcon ive skipped 2 redpills coz of stamoch pain can i take the 2 i have skipped with the 3rd one ## You don't have to take the period week pills, at all, they don't contain any active ingredients, so there is no harm in skipping them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I skip my niaspan pill (1000 mg) a couple times a week, and still get the same results i.e. elevating HDL. I have mild to moderate heart disease. I am concerned about liver damage. ## What has your doctor advised? They would be the best person to advise you in this matter. What other medications do you take?

I have been on Tri-Pre for awhile now. I didn't want to have my period this month so I skipped the week of sugar pills. I started bleeding a little on Wednesday and it is now Monday and I'm still bleeding. Is this going to stop? It's really light, but annoying and thought I was skipping my period by going right to the new pack. ## Hello, Madi! How are you? It should stop, but it may take a few weeks. By not giving your body that weeks break, you've basically created a hormonal imbalance, skipping the placebo pills doesn't always work for everyone. When I was younger and taking an oral contraceptive, I always spotted, if I tried. If it doesn't stop in a few weeks, or gets heavier, you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly...

UGH I should have NEVER skipped the pills and started a new pack. Yes, it delayed bleeding for about 3 days for my anniversary but this isn't worth it. I've been now bleeding for 2 weeks straight. Mostly spotting the last few days but heavy at the time I take the pill each day. I'm almost at the end of the 3rd week and want to know... should I just take the sugar pills and continue bleeding and then everything will go back to the way it was? Or should I skip them again and start a new pack? I don't want to bleed anymore. It's making me so moody and I'm breaking out and crying. I've been on this for 2 years and never had an issue until trying to skip my period. I think it's time to get a monophasic. HELP. ## Hello, Kate! How are you feeling? I'm sorry ...

Hi y'all. I started my new pack of lo loestrin sept 14. Prior to that date my placebos would have been weds, thurs, fri, & sat. I did not take any because I thought the were just sugar pills. So I had my break week I just didn't take the pills. I have not got my period is that suppose to happen? I'm really stressing about it because I don't know if I should have gotten my period please help! ## Hi April, Based on my research, the non-hormonal placebo pills are not meant to serve any therapeutic purpose. So in my opinion it should be ok to simply skip those and not take anything during that time frame if that's what you want to do. I actually heard that the placebos are more so intended to help keep you on track for remembering to take the "active" pills o...

Instead of taking the last row of pills in my sprintec pack, I skipped and immediately started a new pack with the blue pills. I've just finished two weeks of blue pills and STILL have my period- should I take the white pills this week to try to finish my period and then take the *3rd* week of blue pills (and then start a new pack after)? ## Hey it's the original poster of this thread. For clarification, I took rows 1,2, and 3 of one pack, skipped the last row, and started a new pack hoping to avoid my period. I have taken rows 1 and 2 of the new pack and still have my period. I am asking if I should take week 4 (inactive pills) to finish my period, and THEN go pack and take row 3 of blue pills. Then start another pack normally. Thanks in advance for your help:) ## Hello, Katie!...

If I skip my white pills and continue taking the yellow ones will I skip my period and still be protected from pregnancy?? ## Yes and unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise, it is perfectly safe to do this, once in awhile. Many women do it to control when they have their menstrual cycle, so it doesn't occur when it's inconvenient, such as when they are getting married, or going on vacation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Nope thank you :) ## I am getting married next weekend, next week is when I'm suppose to start my white pills by reading the reviews it looks like my period would start and would roll over to the weekend ( not good). My question is if I skip the last week (white pills ) and start my new pack would that skip or delay my period?? Please hel...

In two weeks I'm heading out of two to spend some time with my man. My cycle just start to become come on normally moths ago since I drop from a size 2x to a XL. My cycle went from the 3rd to the 12th this month (spotted from the 3rd-7th). This is my 2 week on week 2 on my Spritec. Can i start a new pack during 4th wk to skip my cycle just in case it may come on again? I never skip the white pills before. ## Hello, SDays! How are you? Yes, as long as your doctor approves, you should be able to do that. Many women use oral contraceptives to skip or delay their periods, at times when it would be inconvenient to have them. However, there are no guarantees, you may still have your period or experience breakthrough bleeding. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives a...

I recently skipped the white sugar pills while taking tri-sprintec, and I've been spotting for about two weeks now. Is there anyway to stop the bleeding? ## Hello, Emma! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. No, there is really no way to stop the spotting. Things will eventually get back on track and balance back out, most likely after your next period. Your body is expecting that break every month that allows a period to happen and by skipping that week, you've thrown your hormonal balance off. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## emma the sugar pills are just...

Can I skip my period and take the placebo pills one week later? As in when I'm supposed to take the placebo pills I take the next months hormonal pills then after one week I take the placebo pills then continue on the hormonal. ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Yes, many women do that to control when they will get their periods, because sometimes they may be due to arrive at a very inconvenient time, such as during a long awaited vacation. Please check with your doctor first, but as long as they clear it, then there shouldn't be any problems with it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had a misscariage on April 30. Skiped perod in May due to the misscariage but was back on track on June 7 and started the pill on june 10, i took it for one week and stopped taking it since i figured id try conciving again. today july 13 still no period. Could taking the pill for one week affected my period? ## Yes, it is a hormonal based contraceptive and taking it for a week is just long enough for it to take effect in your body. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. However, are you sure it's wise to try again so soon? It usually takes quite awhile for your body to recover and, giving your body that time, will greatly increase your chances of conceiving again and being able to carry the baby to full term.

I stopped smoking on Day 1, skipping the smoke during the first week cycle. I am just curious if this going to decrease the effectiveness of the medicine? I was actually ok with not smoking the first 4 days but the craving today is a bit strong. Any help would be appreciated ## No, it won't have any harmful effect on the effectiveness of the Chantix. Learn more Chantix details here. It does work extremely well for some people and they end up quitting almost instantly. Has your doctor given you any advice on how to handle the cravings? ## The craving will get much worse before they get better. Be prepared for that mentally and you will succeed. I quit smoking 2 weeks before starting on the chantix. I was having major trouble with withdrawal and my Dr. prescribed me the chantix. I Hav...

I have been on tri-sprintec for the past 6 months. I recently skipped the sugar pills, that way I wouldn't have my period for a special occasion. I started my new pack right away and this past week I have been bleeding, very lightly, but I was wondering is it normal to bleed if you skip the white pills and start a new pack right away? ## Yes, this can happen and is perfectly normal. Your body was just ready to continue with its normal cycle and you disrupted it. It can also happen because your body just isn't used to having the hormones that week. If the bleeding doesn't stop or gets heavier, then please see your doctor. Do you have any other questions? ## Hello - I take Tri-Sprintec but it has recently changed to Tri-Previfem. Anyways, I was wondering if missing the last 2 ...

I didn’t want to bleed this summer so skipped the 4 placebo pills and started the next month and didn’t bleed for 4 weeks. I just finished the 4 placebos and no blood. I’m worried it’s pushing off the blood. I’m starting the blue pill tonight. Can the body even bleed once the blue pill is in the system? Would appreciate someone’s experience. Thanks ## Hello Momo5, I hope you are having a good day. I'll start by explaining how this medication works. This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: norethindrone (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. Because this medication changes the hormones in your bod...

I take Tri-Sprintec and I was wondering if missing the last 2 white pills in the package (for Friday and Saturday made any difference at all and if it's okay for me to just ignore those and begin my next package which starts Sunday? By not taking the last 2 white pills, will my period stop for the last 2 days of my cycle? ## The last week of pills in the Tri-Sprintec 28 day pack are inactive, and can be skipped, however, this will not alter the duration of your period, it should still last as long as it normally does, unless your doctor states otherwise. Ref: Tri-Sprintec Information The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood changes, and irregular vaginal bleeding.

I am at the second week of my pack and I was about to take Sundays but I dropped it and I couldn't find it. I just took the next pill bc i think they are all the same. But what should I do to fix the whole always being one pill short problem? Should I purposely skip a day and use back up or just buy a new pack early every month? I hesitate to just skip a day bc this is my first pack ever of birth control and I don't want it to mess anything up. Thank you! ## I'm sorry, I didn't see your post sooner and I certainly hope you contacted your doctor or pharmacist to resolve the issue. For future reference of anyone in need of the information, you should always check with your doctor, but normally, if this happens to you and you have just missed one pill, then just move on and...

If I'm still using the white pill at the end of the week then i must start red but what can I do if don't want to menstruate at all? ## Hi i recently started oralcon pills and finished the white line and on the red line can i skip it i dont want to get my period just yet. ## If your doctor approves, you can skip the period week of pills, and just move on to a new pack of active tablets. Many women do so, when it would be inconvenient to have a period, such as if they are getting married, going on vacation, or etc. But there are no guarantees that it will work. I need to skip my period this week, and I'm on a triphasic pill: So far I've been told to A) Continue to the next pack and just skip the placebos or B) Continue to the next pack, but take them backwards. What's the best option to minimize breakthrough bleeding and minimize f***ing with my system? I'm under 35, I do not smoke, I'm in good health, and do not have any other risk factors for blood clots. I've never done this before, but I've been on birth control for several years. Advice would be greatly appreciated!! ## Hello, Depending on who or where you received your initial advice from as far as what you've been told to do, it seems like a gynecologist who specializes in the health of the female reproductive systems would probably know best. Their exper...

I have finished my pack of pills for a week now, but still i dont have my period... I used a PT after 4 days of finishing off my last pill and its negative. What could be the problem? Am i possibly pregnant? Should i start a new pack of lady pills? ## Did you miss any pills, at all? If not, then the chances of your being pregnant are not very high. For most birth control pills, it only takes 7 days of taking them continuously for them to protect you against pregnancy. However, these are hormonal based contraceptives, so they can, sometimes, cause you to skip your period. You should start your new pill pack on the same day that you normally would. There is actually no harm in missing your time of the month, many women use birth control to do it on purpose, when it would be inconvenient t...

I was wondering if I could just skip the white pills and just start a new pack and if that would make me skip a period? It is perfectly safe and allows to skip your period when needed, one of the advantages of being on birth control. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## hello there! the link didnt work but thank you for your help. but i have another question. even though the 3 weeks of active pills are different colors which means they contain a different amount of hormones.. would the whole skipping the sugar pills still work? and your pr...
