is this med just like actifed cold and allergy ## Hi Tina, I posted the active ingredients in each one of these medications so you could see the differences: Actifed Cold And Sinus contains: Acetaminophen + Pseudoephedrine + Triprolidine Actifed Sinus Daytime contains: Acetaminophen + Pseudoephedrine Actifed Cold and Allergy contains: Chlorpheniramine + Phenylephrine As you can see, all three of these contain different ingredients depending on whether or not your primary focus is treating allergy symptoms and a cold or maybe just sinus related issues. But I'm sure each one of these brands can be used interchangeably to some degree if you are experiencing a bit of everything. In that regard, they are similar because they have similar ingredients used for a similar purpose; but no the...

Looking for the original little green pill ## At this time, it is no longer being manufactured and sold in the U.S. by the manufacturer Schering-Plough. It's still available in Canada and a few other countries, but not anywhere in the U.S. So, you may be able to find a website to order it from. In case you want to look for an alternative medication, it contains the active ingredients Dexbrompheniramine and Pseudoephedrine, the latter of which is now only available from behind the counter at your pharmacy, so you'd have to ask them if they carry anything that contains both of them. It does not, however, require a prescription for purchase. Learn more Pseudoephedrine details here. Learn more Dexbrompheniramine details here. Did you try asking at the pharmacy? ## Have used drixoral...

Any warnings of being addicted to Drixoral Cold and Sinus? I am having panic attacks and feeling jittery after not being able to get it now. ## There are side effects and possible addiction to ALL drugs, regardless of whether they are prescription or over the counter. The packaging should contain relevant side effect information and the addictiveness depends on how long and how often you ingest it. ## I've been taking Drixoral since the 70's-first by prescription, then over the counter when it was de-regulated. It has been the only thing to relieve my allergies and sinus problems--AND I LIKE TO BREATH-THRU MY NOSE--without spraying my nose every 10 minutes or using a box of kleenex a day. I have never had any side effects or the possible adverse symptoms listed on the box- from ...

can we use zincold tablets for cold ## Hi chappu, From what I've researched, Zincold contains the three active ingredients Cetirizine + Phenylephrine + Paracetamol, which are marketed for use as an antihistamine, a decongestant, and a pain reliever/fever reducer for treating various symptoms that may be associated with the common cold (such as congestion, sinus pressure, discomfort, etc). So while Zincold wont take the cold away, it looks like its supposed to help with some of the symptoms that often come with a cold. Are you doing anything else to help combat symptoms as well or has the Zincold been working fine on its own? Feel better soon!

Since a week, I'm suffering from cold, cough & sinus infection. I tried lots of home made medicines, as i always avoid visiting Doctors. But, due to no results, i visited a chemist shop and he gave me Okacet Cold tablets (dosage 1-0-1). Do this really helps in providing relief for cold, cough & sinus infections. ## Okacet Cold contains Acetaminophen, Cetirizine and Phenylpropanolamine. Learn more Acetaminophen details here. Learn more Cetirizine details here. Learn more Phenylpropanolamine details here. That said, it can help with some of the cold symptoms, but no it will not do anything for any type of infection. Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold & Sinus Medicine Liqui-Gels Acetaminophen + Pseudoephedrine

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen,[a] is a medication used to treat fever and mild to moderate pain.[11][12] At a standard dose, paracetamol only slightly decreases body temperature;[11][13][14] it is inferior to ibuprofen in that respect,[15] and the benefits of its use for fever are unclear.[11][16][17] Paracetamol may reliev...

I started with a cold and cough but it has gotten worse. I have sinus pressure, blowing yellow and green stuff, and coughing up yellow and green phlem. My chest hurts when I cough. ## It may have turned into a sinus infection and possibly bronchitis, in which case you'll need a course of antibiotics. Learn more Bronchitis details here. Learn more antibiotic details here. Have you contacted your doctor? That's really the only way to get the prescription you need to help clear this up. Has there been any change? Are you feeling any better?

I have seen many people suffering from sinus, and I have too. I used to go to the doctor every fall with it because it got me down. I quit smoking and still every fall again and again it bothered me. Well I ran across a book called "EAT AND HEAL. in it it told what to eat to avoid certain illnesses. And guess what yogurt, ligumes, wheat germ, wheat bread, and fruits and drinking lots of water. I gave up caffeine for that period of time and drank water. It whipped it. I was amazed at the difference in just a few days. Now when I get that sinus thing I get from allergies, I just add those foods to my diet with lots of water and its one in a couple three days. I eat three bananas a day, and haven't had a cold in 4 years. It works. Try it. ## I am glad you've found a solution. H...

This is continuing for the past 15 days. I used "MUCINEX-D" FOR THREE DAYS (TAKEN ONLY 5 TABLETS IN THESE 3 DAYS.) BUT NO IMPROVEMENT.Today morning I am feeling mild head ache and have feeling of slightly watery eyes. Do these symptoms suggest that I have Sinusitis? Please advise me ASAP. I am 66 years old. I am on my first day of amox tr k clv 875-125 mg for a ten day course to treat a cold. The runny nose and coughing is making it hard to sleep and get the needed rest. Can I take Advil Cold and Sinus medication while taking Amox Tr K CLV 875-125 mg? Thanks. ## Hello, Jay! How are you feeling? Sorry that you're sick. However, this is an antibiotic and will do nothing to treat a cold. Antibiotics are only effective against bacteria and a cold is caused by a virus. And actually, taking it when it is not appropriate and needed could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Did your doctor prescribe it? And no, the antibiotic shouldn't be taken with the Ibuprofen in the Advil Cold & Sinus, because they can both increase the available levels of the other in your body, wh...

Drixoral Allergy-Sinus Acetaminophen + Dexbrompheniramine + Pseudoephedrine

Dexbrompheniramine/pseudoephedrine (trade name Drixoral) is a combination medication that contains the antihistamine dexbrompheniramine maleate and the decongestant pseudoephedrine sulfate. It was used to treat symptoms associated with allergies and colds such as itchy and watery eyes, runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, and sneezing. As I am suffering from cold, running nose, sneezing I took 2 spoons of brandy for 3 days continously in the night times. But my cold has not reduced. So please suggest me some good tablest to reduce cold. Also how many times should I take cetzine tablet in a day and so far there is no relief from cold. ## Colds are generally self-limiting and you don't need to take anything for them. If it lasts more than a few days, it may be allergies or a sinus infection, and you should check with your health care provider. ## Puzzled is correct. I'm also not sure what you thought Brandy was going to do. A cold is caused by a virus and there are some products that can be used to help alleviate the symptoms, but that's about as good as it gets. Have you consulted your doctor?
