I'm in Houston. There is so much syrup here its like the wild west. It's crazy how it's gone worldwide as far as recreational use. ## Didn't the discontinuation of syrup from activist in 2014 slow down the trade down there? ## @gladiatorways, It is crazy how there so many people who take allergy, cough & cold medicine recreationally as if it's chocolate ice cream or something delicious. When I was little I used to feel like throwing up those miniature cap-fulls of cough syrup, they'd taste so bad (not to mention possible side effects). For the sake of those people's health, it'd be a shame to see any of them catch a real serious cold and become immune to the medication's effects, due to having a high tolerance. @Bill, Re: "Didn't the disco...

Does it have an expectorant in it ## Hi Jim, Neither medication is actually in the drug class of expectorants like guaifenesin. However I have seen other brand names of promethazine + codeine (such as "Phenergan Expectorant/Codeine" manufactured by Wyeth) being marketed as an expectorant. So I'm led to believe that promethazine does exhibit such effects regardless of its classification. Hope this helps!

Syrup first sub next 20 30 mins bluuh. Precip wds? ## Hello, Jim! How are you? No, neither the Dextromethorphan nor Promethazine are listed as being known to cause such in conjunction with the Suboxone, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. I need help please. Severe pneumonia and cough. Can you take Suboxone with (Promethazine + Codeine)? Please I need relief fast, I'm so miserable. Thank you so much. ## Hi Shelly girl, the short answer is that No, you cannot take those together. Codeine, being an opiate, would pose a drug interaction with both the Buprenorphine AND Naloxone contained in Suboxone. Codeine w/ Naloxone can counteract each other causing withdrawal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, aches, fever, etc). Promethazine also interacts with Buprenorphine, and can increase certain side effects such as dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, etc. [1] That being said, I'd avoid taking the...
