My mother is 70 years old, her blood pressure remains 160.90 after taking repace H also as prescribed by the doctor. Please advise. ## @Pritesh, From what I could gather, high blood pressure in and of itself is not specifically listed as a side effect of Clonotril (clonazepam). In fact, low blood pressure is what's actually recognized as being a rare side effect according to the following drug monograph by: stanford.edu/medications/clonazepam.html. However I do see a number of different symptoms listed on there that IMHO could provoke increases in one's blood pressure (such as agitation, nervousness, anxiety, as well as a few others). Is your Dr. also aware of this problem?

Can she safely stop taking her nightly dose? ## She should take the medication as prescribed by her doctor. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. If she is taking it for high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, those conditions can be far more dangerous, if left uncontrolled, than the risk of taking the medications. I am Diabetic and the above tablet was advised to reduce the swelling that is occurring on my feet.
