After being on this med for 7 years, I was told by my cardiologist to stop taking it. Now I am having various and odd ailments and wonder if they could be related to stopping this medication? ## Hello, Flea! How are you? Yes, they could be related to stopping it. Your body gets used to anything you ingest regularly for a long period of time and abruptly stopping can cause mild withdrawal symptoms. I have been taking clopidogrel 75mg + atorvastatin 10mg + metoprolol 10mg + telmisartan 40mg for the past 3 years since the date of my Bypass surgery. My doctor told me to use them life long, but are there any adverse effects that come with long term use? ## Hello, Krishna! How are you? To be quite honest and upfront, it is far more risky for you to stop taking them, if you have a heart condition, or high blood pressure. There are risks associated with the long-term use of any medication, according to NIH reports, but untreated high blood pressure, or heart issues could be fatal. Have you experienced any issues?

I have been on clopidogrel for 8 years after insertion of a stent. During this period I suffered the most painful cramping in my feet, legs and arms when performing moderate exercise. I recently visited my heart specialist who suggested that I may no longer need to take clopidogrel as a recent angiogram showed no significant blockages in my heart. I ceased taking clopidogrel and no longer suffer any cramping. The suffering I have endured for 8 years while on clopidogrel should be a warning to others. If I had been able to exercise without cramping it may well have been as beneficial as taking this drug. ## Hello, Bill! How are you doing? Wow! That's terrible, I'm glad you finally figured out what was causing it. Muscle aches and stiffness are known side effects, as listed by the...

For 6 months I visited my doctor who did angioplasty for me. On the 6th month my doctor prescribed me DEPLATT-CV (one capsule a day). On both of my legs below the ankle swelling occurs. Is it because of this capsule administered to me? It contains Atorvastatin which was discontinued by my doctor earlier due to the same problem (now experienced in legs) in my palm and fingers. i was prescribed Clopidogrel 75 after a suspected TIA. All completed tests results were normal but i suffer from post-polio syndrome and have muscle weakness in both upper and lower limbs.
