I have been on Carvedilol since December. It's better than Bisoprolol was. My side effects still are sometimes I get so cold I can't get warm no matter how many blankets I have on me, etc. Wheezing after walking a short distance, I never used to have that. Some days I feel down right useless. I felt so much better before beta blockers. Is there anything that won't cause wheezing? Currently I'm on 6.25 mg twice a day. Oh and I have no libido, I told my husband I'm gonna buy him a dead fish! ## I had the same issues, when taking Carvedilol, though I didn't have a husband then, so that part wasn't a concern. But the FDA does list these issues as being common side effects. However, due to being cold so often, I finally had to switch to Losartan. The U.S. FDA list...

I refilled my rx for Carvedilol recently. It came in a bubble pack marked RX CARVEDILOL, CARCA-6.25. The pills are pink, round, and flat. One side is scored with Intas, the other side has C5 printed on it. It supposed to be a sunset yellow color, not what I was expecting (I've taken the yellow pills for 2 years). ## Since Carvedilol is a generic medication, it is manufactured by several different companies, and each company's product may look different, be sized differently, depending on the precise formula they use during manufacturing. There is no uniform way they all have to make them look. However, if you received it from a legitimate pharmacy, as a refill, then there is no reason to worry. Have you tried taking it, yet? The FDA lists the typical side effects of Carvedilol a...

I am currently taking Lisinopril 10MG and Carvedilol 12.5MG in the morning and my blood pressure remains high normally at 144/79. How long have you been taking them? It can take awhile for them to reach their full level of efficacy in your body to fully lower your blood pressure. Is it safe to take Carvedilol 25mg if the discard date was three months ago? Will they still be effective? ## They do not become dangerous, but they may have lost some efficacy, so it would be best to speak to your doctor about obtaining a new supply. The FDA lists this medication as possibly causing side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness, hypotension, and increased urination. How does this medication work for you? When I was taking it, I suffered a severe worsening of my Raynaud's Syndrome/Disease.... I listed both, because what the FDA is calling it at any given time is subject to change. LOL Sometimes it's a syndrome, other times it's a disease, again. Anyway, there were days my hands and feet would go numb and hurt, in perfectly nice weather, so I had to switc...

my son takes the carvedilol, I take the metoprolol. I'm out of meds until tom. Can I sub the carvedilol for the metoprolol ## Hello, Thadmc4! How are you? That is a question that only your doctor can answer for you. There can be rebound effects, if you miss a dose of your current medication, so when switching to or substituting another, you have to make sure that it's an equivalent dose. In the future, you should make sure to always pick up your refill, before you run out. This is not a controlled substance, so you should be able to pick it up a day or two early from your pharmacy. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. I'm taking Metoprolol (50mg) daily. I've experienced a noticeable measure of ED. I wasn't aware of this side effect when I started taking it. Is there another Beta blocker equally effective that does not cause any degree of ED? ## I am afraid that this can be a potential side effect of almost all blood pressure medications, so there is no way to tell you that any one will not cause any degree of ED. I recently had trouble with Metoprolol myself and my doctor recommended I switch to Carvedilol, it seems to cause less side effects and problems for people that have had trouble with Metoprolol. It is also more powerful, so you usually require half the dose of it, that you did of the Metoprolol. More information: Have you tried asking your doctor about alternatives?

I was on carvedilol 25 mg and recently my doctor changed my dose to 12.5 mg. Can I split my 25 to take my 12.5? ## Yes, you can split the remaining tablets, as long as they aren't time released and your pharmacist hasn't otherwise said that you shouldn't do so. I was on it for awhile and had to cut mine, all the time. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
