It is not advisable to stop these medications abruptly, you should try calling your doctor again or try speaking to your pharmacist. I've been on rampril for some years without any difficult side effects. However, since moving house, my new chemist seems some of the time to use the brand of ramapril that I am used to,, and some of the time to use a generic brand of ramapril which gives me serious side effects - dry mouth, dry eyes, and cough. I'm sure he's going to say that they all contain the same active ingredient but I only suffer from the side effects with the generic brand. Anyone have any idea why this might be?

I was taking Ramapril 2.5mg for around 2 years and the only two side effect I got from them. Was when after I had an Arthroscopy knee operation and I started with a cough which so I am lead to believe is commonly known as the Catroripril cough hence the spelling. And also a feeling of being hot in the body all the time I have now been prescribed Perindopril 2mg I am just hoping that I don't get any of the scary side effects that are mentioned in.the leaflet as they frighten the living daylights of you !!!!! ## Coveram 10/10. After 3 months, I feel my gout attacks increased. I suspect it's the coveram I am taking. Should I change medication for my high blood pressure then. I have just been prescribed Lercanidipine and Candesartan for my BP and was told not to take Ramapril anymore because of a cough I have had for about 3 months reading the side effects on both of these medicines it says a cough is likely is this true as I want to get rid of my cough and not prolong it. I have had a CT scan and the hospital have put it down to the Ramapril I was taking. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. ## The Ramipril cough is dreadful.
