Amoxicillin is an antibiotic used to treat a number of bacterial infections.[3] These include middle ear infection, strep throat, pneumonia, skin infections, and urinary tract infections among others.[3] It is taken by mouth, or less commonly by injection.[3][4] Common adverse effects include nausea and rash.[3] It may also increase the risk of yeast infections and, when used in combination with clavulanic acid, d...

My doctor said some people may not be allergic to the amoxicillin but to the capsule it is put in, as these are made cheap with added 'E; numbers. I had swollen lips and tonge, short of breath when I took them and thought I was allergic to penicillin, after what my doctor said, I tried amoxicillin again, I took it out of the capsules and added the powder to a drop of fruit juice and guess what I had no reaction whatsoever to amoxicillin. Why dont they use veggie capsules, instead of these cheap capsules with toxic 'E' numbers added to them? ## When you experienced these side effects, did you go back to the doctor? What did they do to help you? ## I took amoxicillin clavulanate 875mg for three days and it made me very sick to my stomach. I have been off it for 24 hours. How l...

side efect, rash on skin ## MY DAUGHTER WAS GIVEN THIS DRUG FOR AN EAR INFECTION, TO TAKE FOR 10 DAYS. AFTER 5 DAYS HER VAGINIA LOOKS LIKE A PIECE OF RAW MEAT AND HER BODY IS COVERED IN A RASH. HER DR. SAYS THE RASH IS NOT FROM THE DRUG BUT IT MAYBE SCARLET FEVER. HOWEVER SHE IS NOW ON A NEW DRUG STILL FIGHTING EAR INFECTION, STREP THROAT, A RAW VAGINIA, AND SUPPOSELY SCARLET FEVER. GGGRRRR ## All antibiotics are dangerous, some more than others. I have had to go on Amoxicillin Clavulanate again for a bladder infection even though I had a very painful reaction both times (severe joint and muscle pain to point of limping and hanging on the furniture to get to the bathroom, pain in ear and Eustachian tube, nausea, fever). Last time I was prescribed this drug my bladder infection returned ...

I would appreciate any information about taking amoxicillin capsules with liquids such as fruit juices (especially citric), carbonated beverages, and other liquids like Gatorade. I was told that such liquids, which contain acids, can actually destroy the drug. This is an important question for me. Thanks. ## Best to take with full glass of water there is delayed absorption if taken with food. ## Can Amoxicillin be taken with milk? ## You can take it with pretty much whatever you want, they just suggest water because that provides the fasted and easiest method of absorption. I stopped taking the antibiotic and now my vagina is swallowing ## Hi asia, Did you mean to say swelling as opposed to swallowing? If so... there's a possibility you could be suffering from a yeast infection (which is common after taking antibiotics). You could have also had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Have you ever had this problem before? I recommend supplementing with a probiotic to reinstate good bacteria into your body. Eating sugar free yogurt with honey could help too (sugar free is best because the sugar may cause more yeast infection problems). Yogurt, as well as kefir, is full of good bacteria that can help build your immune system. If the swelling gets worse, please see a doctor as soon as possible! I hope this helps.

what is the shelf life of amoxicillin 45 ## These contain 500mgs of Amoxicillin and, if they have been dispensed in a pharmacy bottle, then the normal shelf life is 1 year from when you had it filled. After that year, they start to lose effectiveness. If they are in the original factory sealed container, their shelf life may be longer. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Could you please provide a citation that shows there is a minimum of one year of shelf life after the prescription is filled?

I had a severe reaction to this where I broke out starting at my hands and feet with itching, then broke out around my lips and eyes and then my legs from top to bottom. My tongue swelled and itched everywhere. I took benadryl, then my heart started to hurt, feeling like an attack. I do know that the amoxicillin caused the itch and swelling of my tongue but do not know what caused my heart to react. ## Hi Christina, I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I hope you got emergency medical attention after all that! Based on my research, it does sound like you had an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillin.
