Taking 290mg of Linzess 40 minutes before first meal on an empty stomach. Before I'm even finished eating I get severe cramps and run to the bathroom and have bad diarrhea. Should I be taking a lower dose? I only take the Linzess every other day. I have IBS with constipation and colitis. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? Yes, you may want to speak to your doctor about trying to lower dosage, for awhile to see how it works for you. The cramping and diarrhea can be normal side effects, as listed by the FDA, but the lower dose may help mitigate them. Other side effects may possibly include nausea and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took my first dose of Ozempic 0.25mgs and within an hour had really bad stomach cramps (which resulted in quite severe diarrhea and nausea). Is it normal to experience side effects that quickly or is it an unlucky coincidence? ## Yes, you can experience side effects having just taken one dose, it has been known to happen to many people. Along with the issues you experienced, the FDA also warns that other side effects may include tiredness, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, and bloating. Ref: Ozempic Information How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## I am on my 2nd dose of 0.5mg and still have almost daily post meal diarrhea, bloating and stomach churning. It has done wonders for my blood sugar glucose was 99 last Thursday, but will the diarrhea ever go away? ## I h...

I have been taking janumet 50/1000 twice a day for about 2 weeks. My question is when will the side effects stop? I have had painful gas, diarrhea and headaches. I have notices the gas pains have slowed a lot, but there seems to be no end in sight for the other 2. Help! I hated taking metformin but it is helping my sugars are down so I am reluctant to stop. Would the xr be better? ## update : headaches still but the diarrhea has calmed down. ## Those can be normal side effects of Janumet, according to FDA reports, other side effects may include runny nose, and joint pain. Ref: Janumet Information Typically, side effects hit their peak around 4 to 6 weeks of taking on steady dose of a new medication, then they should start to taper off, before eventually disappearing entirely. I have been recommended Etoshine 120 by my doctor for my severe muscular pain in my hip to my knee region. However, I'm having irregular heart beats, hallucinations, difficulty breathing and drowsiness after each dose. My doctor told me there are no side effects of this medicine but every time I take it the symptoms are too much to bear... I'm not even able to breath. ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects. This medication is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The NIH lists the most common side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, flatulence, and increased blood pressure. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

Hi. My name is Renee. I took 3000mg of cipro at once. It's been two days and I feel nothing. But every time I think of pills I feel nauseous. What will happen? ## Hello, Renee! How are you? Cipro is classified as an antibiotic, you can't really overdose on it, the only real danger would be if you were allergic to it and, since it's been a few days, I think it's safe to say you aren't. Taking that high of a dose may cause you to experience more severe side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and diarrhea. Has there been any change? How are you feeling? I'm guessing that feeling nausea, when you think of pills is just due to your worrying about how much you took.

Hi, I was on Methadone for 15 years. For the past 2 years they slowly tapered me because I did not want to feel any withdrawals. They got me all the way down to 3 mg, and I stopped going. Well that was 30 days ago and I'm still going through withdrawals. They are not severe, insomnia, anxiety, diarrhea, cold chills. My question is how 2 stop it? I just want to feel normal again. ## Hi, Tamara! Sorry about the problems you're having. However, that is one very big issue with Methadone, it tends to cause withdrawals and cravings for a very long period of time, that's why most people never completely get off of it and end up requiring a lifetime maintenance dose. Thus, I'm afraid there's no way to know for sure when the symptoms you're having will stop, or if they wi...

Accidentally took double dose of Bactrim DS. Is this harmful? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? This is an antibiotic, so you can't really overdose on it, thus a double dose would only be really dangerous if you were allergic to it. Otherwise, you are most likely to experience more severe side effects than usual, which as reported by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea. However, it is always best to inform your doctor of what happened, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have taken 3 bactrim tablets at once and I want to know if that will cause any problems I should be mindful of? Please reply!

I've been taking 6 /4 mg. Dilaudid for a year. I'm afraid to try and stop because I hear it's horrible. Since it's such a low dose should I be concerned about becoming violently ill ? ## Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone and it is a very potent narcotic. Even when you don't abuse a medication, your body does get used to having it and a sudden withdrawal with result in some withdrawal effects. These can include: nausea, diarrhea, rebound pain and severe dizziness. The best thing to do, after having taken it for so long, is to taper your dosage slowly. Your doctor can probably help you with this. Have you consulted them, yet? ## Thanks so much for getting back to me....yes I'm going to taper off. ## Verwon, please let me know (I see you answer s...

Took one Losartan 50mg this morning at 9 am. Forgot about it and took another one at 7pm. Should I worry? ## How are you feeling now? Make sure you don't have any of the symptoms listed below. At least it was 10 hours between doses instead of taking both at the same time. Here's an excerpt from Medline Plus: Losartan may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away: - leg, knee, or back pain - muscle cramps or weakness - diarrhea - heartburn - decreased sensitivity to touch Some side effects can be serious. I am finishing a 7 day dose of clindamycin 300 mg taken once every 8 hours on Friday, which leaves me with no weekend coverage if dental infection isn't gone. My dentist told me yesterday that it can remain in my system for awhile, is this true? If so, for how long? ## Hello, Jana! How are you? Yes, that is correct. However, how is the infection doing? If the antibiotic is working, there should be no worsening after being on it for a full 24 hours and you should start to see some improvement after taking it for a full 3 days. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ## I had a severe headache with flushed feeling after taking clindesse vaginally.never again bad drug ## Took clind...

I accidentally took two doses of amoxicillin-clavulan (prescribed after dental surgery) two hours apart...what should I do? ## Hello, Elby! How are you? Did you suffer any adverse effects? Unless you are allergic, or take a very high amount of them, you can't really overdose on an antibiotic. But you may experience more severe side effects than usual, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and diarrhea.

I took two SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 this AM by mistake. Is there anything I should watch for and do I take the next scheduled dose in 12 hrs? ## Hi Eve, Sorry to hear about your dosing mistake. If you're feeling ok hours afterwards I wouldn't necessarily be overly concerned, but just for your information, side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can include: Painful or swollen tongue; dizziness, spinning sensation; ringing in your ears; joint pain; or sleep problems (insomnia) More serious side effects that can occur may include: Fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash; the first sign of any skin rash, no matter how mild; pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding; cough, feeling short of breath; diarrhea that is watery or bloody; feeling...

I went to my pulmonary doctor today. I wasn't sure if I had allergies or an upper respiratory infection (not severe). I have asthma, and did not do as well with my breathing tests as I usually do. The Doctor heard a slight wheezing in my chest. He gave me 5 days of Bactrim DS. Is this a normal dose or should he have ordered pills for more days. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? No, it can be used like that, if he thinks an infection might just be starting, or he's trying to prevent one. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take half of a 10 mg of Zolpidem to help me sleep. Lately I have been experiencing crawling and itching of the skin. I have been on Zolpidem for over a year under a doctors care. I can't get a straight answer from my doctor on the side effects and how do I come off of it ## Hello, Hector! How are you? No, those are not listed as known side effects of this medication and it would be very unusual to have them crop up, after you've already been taking it for a year. The common side effects usually include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and visual disturbances. As to coming off it, as sudden withdrawal may cause some rebound effects, like severe insomnia and nervousness, so it is better to slowly taper it. The modern method usually involves starting to skip doses, such as taking it o...

Is it ok to take both Nitrofur Macr 100 Mg & Doxycycline 100 mg? ## Has your doctor instructed you to use both? There are no interactions listed in my resources, but you should check with a doctor or pharmacist to be certain. In certain cases of severe infections, it may be necessary to prescribe a higher dose of antibiotics, or a combination of different ones. They both can cause similar side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more:

Does nitrofur macr 100 mg help to reduce acne? I know it is a medication to help urinary infection. ## Hello, Jess! How are you? It may help some, but it's generally not the preferred antibiotic to treat severe acne. The antibiotic of choice is Doxycycline. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Did your doctor prescribe it for you? Or are you just looking for an acne solution? ## Yes, I'm looking for a better solution to treat acne. Thanks! ## You've very welcome! I'd suggest asking your doctor about trying Doxycycline for it. My nephew had severe acne and taking a low dose of it daily, for several months, is what finally cleared it up of him. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## It sounds like a g...

I was diagnosed with Lymes disease and was perscibed Doxycyl Hyc 100mg a day for 30 days. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your reply. I contacted my doctor to see if I could take 2 doses daily to confront this head on and he said it was OK. I think I have had this for about 3 or 4 years and have been having some severe effects. i am on 250mcg off fentanyl patches I change 2 100 ones every 48hours and the 50mcg one every 72 hours if I was to just stop them what would happen to me some help advice would be good ## Hello, Sammy! How are you? If you stopped suddenly, you'd experience pretty severe withdrawals effects, such as rebound pain, dizziness, drowsiness, vomiting and diarrhea. It is best to taper as slowly as possible. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It can be dangerous to stop such a high dose and go cold turkey. Taper off, as you would need a lot of any other opiate to take away the w/d.

On 11/6/12 I received a 60 mg dose of Prolia intravenously . Shortly afterwards ( a couple of days) I had severe diarrhea and flu like symptoms which cleared up in a week or so. THEN the jaw pain took over my life----- It was excruciating. I went for a scan of my jaw and was told that I have osteonecrosis of the jaw. Today, 11/1/13 some of the pain has eased but it is still difficult for me to eat chewy foods and to get a good night's sleep. To cough, sneeze or yawn causes severe pain. I get sharp pain in my ear mostly at night. My family doctor prescribed Alleve twice a day and a narcotic pain killer in between when the pain gets unbearable. I contacted the company (Amgen) and was told they were sorry for my problems but had nothing to reverse the symptoms. It has been nearly a yea...
