Severe Back Pain

I was on 30mg of mitprtazipine for 18 months, I came off them at the end if January as I could not stand the terrifying nightmares I was having, since then I have suffered with a fatty liver and chronic lower back, pain between my shoulder blades and muscle pain, have tried all methods of relief, chiropractor , osteopath, massage and all kinds of pain relief, nothing so far is having any effect , would like to know if anyone else has suffered anything similar. ## Hi Liz, First and foremost, be aware that all thoughts and opinions expressed are based on my research and should not be mistaken for medical advice. I had shingles which left me with severe nerve pains. The doctor kept on prescribing epletin for the past five months. Will it eventually help on completely getting rid of the pain? ## If it hasn't done so after 5 months, there's not much of a chance that it's going to and you should talk to your doctor about trying something else. Most medications reach their full effectiveness in the body after just 4 to 6 weeks and you are long past that time period. Is there anything else I can help with?

However, since they are both narcotics that are coupled with Acetaminophen, it would be best not to mix them, without your doctor's approval. It could result in an overdose. The FDA warns that these medications have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a severe hip pain when I set down it does not hert when I walk and lay down it is bad pain ## Have you consulted your doctor? If the pain is only occurring, when you lay down, there's a chance that it's some type of nerve compression from a spinal problem. The NIH lists other possible symptoms as including numbness and tingling. Are you on any medications?

I got hurt serving in Afghanistan so I got medically discharged it was on morphine while I was in the service until I got out now they put me on Vicodin 10 and then they put me on tramadol and it does nothing for me I have done every type of treatment and nothing works how do I get them to just let me have what works ## Hello, Garu! That might enable someone to provide you with better ideas, since you weren't specific which doctors you're dealing with. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I am a 51 year old female (at present I feel about 71) and following an oophorectomy in January I have had constant groin pain It is worse when I am sitting od driving I can only walk a short distance and have not been able to return to work as yet I can not see any light at the end of the tunnel I have for the last 2 1/2 weeks been on anatryptaline starting on 10mg after a week 20mg and at present onto 30mg but all to no avail. Good day. I have been taking Indapamide for 8 weeks now after my previous bp meds and water pill (Amiloretic) caused me severe heart fluttering and chest pains and a general feeling of "something being wrong with my heart". All of these "heart problems" subsided but now im left with unbearable pain in both my hips. I can hardly walk. This Indapamide is the only medication that has been changed. Over the past several months (up to 12), I've had an increasingly severe pain build in my left shoulder and back. It started in the shoulder, high up almost into my neck (opposite my collar bone). Since then, it has spread to nearby areas all around my shoulder blade, including just behind my armpit. The pain also radiates down my entire left arm. The areas are painful when I move, and also painful to the touch; the skin is sensitive, almost like a post-surgical site (I've had multiple surgeries- more on that later). I have sickle cell anemia and our pain is up there with cancer, 10+ scale but they treat us like 2nd class citizen buttmy problem today is that I'm noticing that the more I'm taking my 30mg Roxycodones 2 every 4 hours as needed and the pain is excruciating and getting so much worse. I severely damaged my lower back this morning. I have had back pain for some years now. I went and saw my Dr today who prescribed me Endone and Meloxicam 15mg, my Dr is aware that i suffer stomach pain when i take anti inflammatory medication. He did advise me that these tablets are okay to take. I am unsure what to do as I do have stomach ulcers, and I need the inflammation in my back to go away. ## Hello, Debbie! How are you? Dear Doctor, Hope you are fine. I have been suffering from abdominal pain for almost an year now and have visited numerous doctors, however the cause of my pain is still unknown as the results are normal most of the times. Hello - I have been on Depakote for about a month now 125mg 3x a day. It's working OK (I preferred Tegretol TBH, but developed a severe allergic reaction to that med.) I just got my period for the first time since being Rx Depakote and the amount of cramping pain I am experiencing is much, much worse than normal. (It woke me from a dead sleep, doubled over in pain, cold sweat, constipated.) Taken Lyrica 6 plus years; pain bad, weight gain terrible, ## Have you consulted a doctor? Weight gain can be a norma side effect of the Pregabalin in Lyrica, however, it should not cause severe pain. What were you taking it for? If it was for pain, there is a chance that your condition has worsened to the point where this medication may not be helping, as much as it used to. This can also occur if you've had no dosage adjustments for the length of time you've been taking it.
