How do you get off of opiates? ## Although I would recommend that your doctor be the one who sets up & monitors your tapering dosage, usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In my opinion, another key component to weaning off is to make yourself a tapering schedule on a calendar in order track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this advice he...

How to get off this tablets ## Hi Fiona, Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In that regard, it may be beneficial to set up a calender schedule to track the weeks when you taper down and any progress you make in between. I hope this advice helps!

Does anyone have Celiac and takes Forteo? My doctor prescribed this medicine for my osteoporosis. I am extremely worried about taking this medicine and all the side affects with Forteo. I am 51, post menopause, and have a fractured leg. The bone is taking a lot of time to heal. One side effect I read from Forteo was more fractures. I am looking for any side affects from people with auto immune diseases, not doctors answers. Thank you. ## Hi Alice, I am set to begin my first dosing of Forteo this week and I am very nervous. I am 53 and was dx with Celiac in 2004. I also have multiple other autoimmune dx. One of my long term meds is oral prednisone. Also early menopause at 42 with no artificial medically suggested. I have osteoporosis and osteopenia measurements. Also on warfarin for auto...

Advise me on the best way to do this...no matter how long it takes. I'm not worried about detoxing quickly, just want to detox! ## Hi Gypsy63, Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. I would suggest setting up a time frame on a calendar as to how often and how much you decide to taper down your dose, until you feel comfortable going off of them comp...

I do not want to continue on them however I do not know how to take my self off them please help. ## Hi lolypop, Usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off under a doctor's supervision; if possible. However having only taken the medication for 1-6 days, I almost wonder if you'd even experience withdrawals at all...? None the less, if you are concerned I would definitely encourage you to talk with your doctor about setting up a tapering schedule to ensure that everything goes smoothly. My understanding is that some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut...

I've been taking 10/500 lortab 4 times a day and 100mg of morphine twice a day and I'm still in pain. How long will I go through the DT'S when I stop the meds? I'm ready to try and kick this dependence. ## Hi vinvin, I'm not sure what you are referring to when you mention "DT'S", but I'm assuming you mean withdrawal symptoms? Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them.
