Was prescribed S. Numlo 0.25 and Telma 40 when B.P was 150/100 in 2010 by DR. A. Stopped medication after 6 months as B.P. around 130/85. In June 2013 was again diagnosed with High B.P 160/100 to 150 /90 and prescibed tab Seloken XL 25 mg by Dr. B. Should i change to Seloken or should i continue with earlier tablets. ## Hi, Jack! I undergone openheart By pass surgery recently. Doctor priscirbed Tab TAB TAB SELOKEN XL25 MG TILL FURTHER ORDER which will be taken in the MORNING after food. I amtaking seloken xl 50 one tablet in the morning and in the evening for palpatations which suddenly occur without any cause. Can I replace it with calaptin 120 sr. I had been using calaptin for a long time. But dr advised thatseloken xl is better.I do not believe this. Give me your opinion. ## You should take the medication that the doctor has instructed you would be best for you. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. The Seloken is a time released medication that can help get your condition under better control throughout the day. Why don't you believe what they told you?

I have been advised by my family physician to take one tablet of CTD 6.25 after breakfst and one tablet of seloken xl 50 after lunch instead of selomax 50/5, since selomax 50/5 is retaining water in the body and causes swellimg in the feet and calf muscle. I am 45 years old; Male; Normally I am quite active and brisk so far. But 10 days ago I suffered mild chest pain. Angiography was done. Cardiologist diagnosed formation of fatty substances (about 40 to 45%) in the blood veins. My bp levels r in the range 120-140 n 75-90... N pulse is between 90 - 110 ## Seloken contains the active ingredient Metoprolol, and Telma contains Telmisartan, so they are different medications, although both as used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. I have been taking half a tab of Seloken XL 25mg each morning for the last 3 years for high bp and my bp remains 130/90. Do I need to continue taking this or should I consult my doc for a change of medicine? ## Seloken XL contains the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time release formulation, it is most commonly used to help control high blood pressure. You definitely need to keep taking the medication and consult with your doctor regarding any changes. That is still not a normal blood pressure reading and stopping this medication abruptly can cause severe health problems, such as sudden blood pressure spikes, cardiac problems and heart attacks.

My bp ranges between 120-135 n 80-95... My pulse rate is between 90 n 110. I used to take seloken XL50 mg.. now doctor Has shifted me to Telma 40 mg. Along with this I also take trental 400mg, neurokind n shelcal 500mg... can u please tell me the effects it will hv on me... ## Trental increase your blood circulation to prevent any time of ischemia

My wife is 43yrs of age and is taking seloken xl 50 & olmy A tabs for blood pressure, along with thyronorm 75 tabs; often she gets gastritis. What should we do? Is this a side effect of the above medications? ## Yes, gas and stomach pain can be side effects of these medications, she may also experience dizziness, headache, increased urination, weight changes, and hair loss. Has she tried making sure to take the blood pressure medications with food, to prevent some of the stomach issues?

I undergone Bypass in Feb'12, but continued having chest pain even after bypass. Drs advised me for REDO CABG since (notices in angiography) one of the arteries (removed from chest) grafted has clogged therefore not catering blood flow of all blocked arteries. I refused for REDO Bypass, therefore Drs prescribed the following medicines Imdur 60 mg-half tab , Seloken XL 25 Mg 2 tab (M & E), Clopilet 75 mg 1 Tab, Crestor 10 mg 1 Tab, Ecosprin 75 mg 1 Tab . Can some one advise me how long these medicines to be taken. Is there better option with min. of side effect of this medicines.
