Hi,I had a Mirena inserted Oct '11 after being on Primulot -N for several years. I wasn't prescribed it for contraception it was to control bleeding & replace estragen as I'm 59yrs. One week later on my follow-up appt the Gynocologist said that I should've stop taking Primolut -N, I told him that I wasn't told to stop. There was still no change in Nov & my mood swings were getting worse. Dec I had another follow-up appt & a different Gyno saw me.I told him that I'm a nervous wreak & very angry, whats going on? he just kept saying `give it time, it will settle '(refering to the Mirena). My Gyno didnt listen to me when I tried to explain that I felt stressed, angry & depressed. My friend came to visit at Xmas & couldn't believe the ch...

I was wondering can i have a seizure if i only took 1mg xanax for just once a day for 2 weeks i dont really take them. I already had a seizure a while ago but I'm scared I'm going to have another one. And I don't want to take the xanax ever again ## Well you had one before so I would hope not. A seizure is always possible however looking at the amount you took and the duration, you shouldn't have problems, nor experience any of the extreme withdrawal symptoms you are reading about here. ## I'd suggest talking to your doctor first, for your own safety. Since you've already suffered a seizure, some extra caution is necessary and it might be best for you to taper very slowly to prevent such a risk. Learn more Xanax details here. Usually, one a day for 2 weeks might ...

My son is suffering from seizures. From last five years he was on eptoin (syrup 12 ml a day). Last February doctors advised us to stop his eption and in July he has suffered a seizure. Now what to do? Why the attack came back after 5 years and 5 months? This time my son felt a twitch in his left leg and left hand and started jerking. Earlier he used to jerk his hands and legs only. Are these signs of any big complication?

If I stop taking .5mg of xanax after only2 months wwhat's the risk of a possible seizure ## Slight ## It would ultimately be best to talk with your doctor about tapering first. But from what I've been reading, most people shouldn't have any severe problems after stopping xanax at that low of a dose. The National Anxiety Foundation states that cold turkey-ing 4mgs or more is notably what can cause moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms and/or convulsions in some cases. So in my honest opinion the risk for you is very slim. Does anyone else have advice on this from personal experience? ## 3 MG brought on a week of Hospitalization for me! ## I take 1 mg of Lorazepam Three times a day and I have gone off it no problem. Lorazepam is very close to what Xanax is so you may want to ...

I was on 300 MG of lyrica for 5 weeks for nerve pain from my MS. It did work but 2 weeks ago I had 5 days of 4-5 seizures a day and was admitted to the hospital. After EEG. And video monitoring I was found to not have epileptic seizures The dr said it was from Lyrica and the seizures stopped after 2 days of being off of Lyrica. Have you heard of this? I would like to restart it ad it helped but am a bit hesitant. The whole episode put me into an MS flare up also do am recovering from that too. Thanks ## Hello, JJ56! How are you? There are two possibilities as to the cause… Lyrica is actually an anticonvulsant, which means that conversely, it can sometimes cause seizures in some people that take it. The second possibility is that you accidentally missed one or more doses, because a...

I've been on Paxil for 1 year and am tapering off from 10 mg. I'm on week 2 and have experienced racing heart, tremors, zapping in hands, nausea. Omg! I would never recommend this drug. I'll just deal with panic attacks and my .25 Xanax. ## How much have you lowered your dose, so far? Some withdrawal effects are normal any time you lower the dosage or stop taking a medication, according to the NIH. They can occur due to stopping anything from a blood pressure medication, to a daily dose of Aspirin. Stopping your Xanax would actually be much worse, since it can be habit forming and suddenly stopping it creates the risk of seizures, as reported by the FDA. Why are you stopping the Paxil?

I've been taking Oxetol 900mg twice a day for the last 2 and a half years... Now that I am free from my seizure disorder, is it safe for me to decrease my dose? ## Hello, Aabid! How are you? If you have epilepsy, there is no cure, so stopping this medication could result in your experiencing seizures, again. What seizure disorder were you diagnosed with? The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and mood swings.

Hello. My son is on 50mg Losartan for prevention of aortic root growth due to Marfan syndrome. After about six months of taking it, he started to experience episodes of feeling “funny.” This included brief nausea/drop in the pit of his stomach, dizziness, and a feeling like he didn’t want to move his arms and legs. In the recent past, this has progressed into what appear to be petit mal or absence seizures—brief periods of staring blankly and not responding. He still reports that sudden drop in the pit of his stomach preceding an episode and then a feeling of not wanting to move arms and legs. I asked his cardiologist if the Losartan could be causing those episodes and he was skeptical but agreed to take him off the meds for a week or so to see if they stopped. H...

I suffer from migraines-previously about 8 a month. My neurologist prescribed 100 mg Topamax, which cut the migraines back significantly to about 2 a month which can be treated with, in my case, Axert or Zomig. I began having really bad eye problems and other symptoms which prompted me to want to wean myself off. I was cut back to 50mg for a week and told to stop. On the 8th day off Topamax, I suffered a grand mal seizure and was taken my ambulance to the hopital. My neurologist will not suggest that it was the Topamax that caused the seizure. I have never had a seizure in my life and can't think of another cause for this. Has anyone else had this experience? I would really appreciate any insight, because I've been placed on another anti-seizure medication and told that by law I...

My doctor prescribed Lyrica for severe nerve pain in my upper left leg. My specialist told me the pain is cause by my diabetes. At first, in June 2015 I was taking 75 mg., but to no effect. I took 150 mg., but again to no effect. In mid-July my doctor increased my dosage to 300 mg. I started having seizures. I decreased the dosage over a couple of weeks and stopped taking Lyrica. I took no more Lyrica, after mid-August. It is now in December and the seizures persist. Will these ever go away? I don't particularly want to take other drugs that will also cause such side-effects. Thank you. ## Hello, Mitch! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. If you stopped it months ago, then it should not still be causing seizures. Have you consulted a neurologist? It is po...

I am afraid of having seizures!!! ## Well, to be safe these types of medications are usually tapered slowly to prevent the withdrawal effects and lower the risk of seizures. Learn more Xanax details here. What is the dosage of the ones you've been taking? ## I find that sleep is a good indicator that you are not physically addicted so if u can sleep without it you are generally good. I have been taking 100 mg of gabapentin for three weeks for neuropathy and it helped but I am feeling so down and giving mood swings so I want to stop taking it. Can I just stop it without ant problems. I'm taking a capsule so I can't cut it in half. ## After such a short period of time, you usually can, but it would be best to check with your doctor, to be safe. If you are prone to seizures, there is a risk of your experiencing them, according to FDA reports. However, you should be aware that these side effects will usually pass, once your body gets used to the medication, which generally takes about 5 to 6 weeks. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I have been taking way too much gabapentin for several years now. I started taking it to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms from suboxone. Then I started taking more and more and found out that stopping gabapentin has its own terrible withdrawal. I take about twenty 600mg gabapentin pills a day. More or less depending on how much I have. When I run out the withdrawal is pretty bad but what's worse is that it lasts way too long. It takes at least the days to get through the worst of it. I could just really use some help. Does suboxone help alleviate gabapentin/lyrica withdrawal symptoms? ## A slow taper is usually the best and safest way to stop, since an abrupt withdrawal could create the risk of seizures, according to the FDA, along with nausea, fever, chills, anxiety, rebound pain...
