Hi. I need any and all assistance I can possibly get. I live in Wesley Chapel,fl (suburb of Tampa,FL). My doctor changed me yesterday from Percocet 10/325mg to Butrans 20mg and I cannot find this rx anywhere. I am completely out of pain medication and am in immediate need of this rx. Has anyone every filled this rx at any local pharmacies in the Tampa area; if so which pharmacy would possibly have this rx? ## Hi, Janna! How have you been checking for it? If you've been calling around, the pharmacies are going to tell you that they don't carry it or have it in stock, because it's a controlled substance and they have no way of knowing if the person on the other end of the phone is a legitimate customer with a need, or a potential thief. Some pharmacies may also not have any in...

Is the dosage strength equivalent? What if any difference are there between the two besides price? ## The active ingredient in Losartan is Losartan potassium. This drug is manufactured by Teva Pharms. The active ingredient in Benicar is Olmesartan medoxomil. This drug is manufactured by Daiichi Sankyo. From what I could gather, both drugs are classified as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, used to treat high blood pressure. That said, the only differences I could find were between the chemical structures of the drug itself, as well as any other inactive ingredients that the different manufacturers decide to put into the pill. Both of these factors however can influence how the the drug absorbs into your system and therefore determine how effective one is over the other, which can v...

I have been taking the QUALITEST 10-325 for pain I have incurred due to Scleroderma, Osteoarthritis, Raynauds, PPAH, ETC. When I went to pick up refill this month (November 3, 2014) I was told they could no longer get the QUALITEST and I was stuck with these pills manufactured by MALLINCKRODT. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!!! The pill is white, oval shaped and the bottle says Norco 10-325 but I can guarantee you these are just compressed white powder. THEY DO NOT WORK at all. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in the Disneyland area of Orange County, CA that still has the QUALITEST brand? The pain is unbearable. Thank You. ## Hello, Jade! How are you? I'm sorry that these tablets aren't working for you. Unfortunately, there is no listing of pharmacies according to what medication they carry f...

Trying to identify a white capsule with N020 written sideways on one end. Is this Vitamin D3 50000 UNITS? ## Hi Mary, I located a white capsule marked with "2 N 020" that's identified as Loperamide (2mg), used for treating diarrhea. This particular pill is made by Teva Pharma. Although I haven't seen an image of either pill yet, I did think that this capsule's description might be a possible suspect. There's also a round white Allopurinol (100mg) pill with a marking of N020 on one side and scored on the other [A product of Northstar Rx LLC.] - I'd be curious to know whether this drug company (Northstar) has or had any other forms of this N020 pill made in past inventories (as a possible explanation to it appearing different)? Doctor has RX'd both lasix and KLOR-CON M 20meg for swollen ankle. Is it necessary to take both medications? Can I just take the lasix and rely on the potassium I obtain through the foods that I eat? ## Hello, Buckeye! How are you? It would be best to take them both, if your doctor has prescribed them both. Diuretics, such as Lasix tend to really sap your potassium and it could be dangerous, if it drops too low. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lasix as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. The Klor-Con is known to cause stomach pain and upset, so it is best taken with food or a snack. Is there anything else I can help with? ## The advice in your reply sounds logical and I will follow it by taking both meds. thanks, Verwon. An extensive sea...

My RX of Prednisone 20mg tablets reads take two tablets daily for 7 days. Do I take two at once? ## Hello, Donna! How are you? You can take them together, or at different times of day, whichever works for you. Some people prefer to take it all in the morning, to help prevent the insomnia and nervousness it can cause, which may result in them getting no sleep. my doctor has prescribed hydrocodone and that is all I take for pain management in N. C. at Walreen's; I never was declined due to insurance nor store's policy for these tablets, and now my PA and MD in pain management have suddenly turned it into a "history" of me picking up my Rx's early on a regular basis ,which is not even true according to my records; I do not understand why one day it was fine with my physician, as I we had always agreed that I wanted lowest doseage of pain meds tolerable for my chronic pain due to herniations and bulging discs, and these are the 10/325's, I tried Tramadol as a break-through Rx, and dropped it, no break through meds. such as that had any help for me, and higher medications with opiates actually suggested by the PA were decl...

I don't usually count the pills when I pick up my Rx. This time I did & felt a difference in the thickness. Some are marked NP on one side & K57 on one side & blank on the other. I'm assuming they're from different Mfg Co's but don't like to assume with my pain pills! Also, is it normal practice for Pharmacies to mix? ## I have a bad back and am wondering if being prescribed oxycodone would be the best course of action? ## Yes, these both contain 20mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation and mixing can be normal, if your pharmacy doesn't have enough of one to fill your prescription. There is nothing wrong with it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, ...
