My brother takes Oxycontin 80 mg. for timed release pain management and 30 mg. roxycodone for break thru pain. He has seen the same doctor and went to the same pharmacy for over 10 years. Suddenly last month, drug store did not have the 30 mg. available for a few days and this month, I was told that 30 mg. were no longer available. I cannot get his medication anywhere ( the 30 mg.) Ive been on Roxicodone 30 mg for 4 years and I take four of them a day plus I also take 30mg oxycontin twice a day. I just moved to Detroit and went to a knew pain dr and he put me on Percocet and Opana which does nothing considering how long I have been on my other pain meds.. I was prescribed 270 30 mg oxycodone take one every 2-3 hours as needed for pain. Is this a common dose? It seems extreme to me but my prior dose is not effectve anymore. ## It is not common, but if you are tolerant to Oxycodone and have been using it for a long time, then it is no necessarily dangerous, either. I recently received some roxycodone's 30mg from India and they don't look anything like original blue 30mg roxies.. They look like maybe watson 10/500 hydro/apap or maybe 7.5 hydro/apap with lots of filler.. What was strange is the sealed packaging actually says roxycodone and describes the little blue pill with the 54 199 imprint used to identify the roxy's. These don't have any imprint on them.
