It's round redish brown with a l on one side and nothing else. ## Hi John, I'm just wondering, is this a lower case "L" you're describing or is it a score line that divides the pill into two sections? If it is a score line, there are a few different tablets that share a similar description. But on the other hand since the imprint is so vague, I'm not sure if you could necessarily narrow it down to a single search result without also having it's contents analyzed by a lab or drug panel. Whereabouts did you get it from?

We can rule it out as being a U.S. manufactured and approved prescription medication, because they are all required to have markings to enable their identification. The only exception for a very tiny pill might be for one that was from a package of oral contraceptives, since they are usually packaged in blister cards and aren't always required to have imprints on each tablet. How small is it? Otherwise, if it's not that small, then it's most likely an over the counter medication of some type.

I found two pills in a cabnet that are reddish/brown in color and about the size of a dime in dia. approx 1/4 inch thick. on the top of the pill has (L489) engraved on it.
