can you split a ER 20 mg pill of ritalin in half? (sz 780) ## No, the ER stands for extended release, which means it is a time released formulation and cutting or crushing the tablets could result in your getting too much of the medication, at once. This could result in an overdosage. Is there anything else I can help you with?

I'm searching for a photo and information of a pill, its white and has SZ on one side and the other side has 20. I know it is a generic ritalin. im looking for a link that would have a photo of the pill and information. ## Ritalin "Sz 20" is manufactured by Sandoz Canada. I'm unable to locate a photo of the pill itself, however, Sandoz Canada does have contact information which you can call or email and someone there may be able to send you a photo of the pill or help in describing the physical properties of the pill: As far as information goes, Ritalin tablets contain the active ingredient methylphenidate hydrochloride, which is a psychostimulant drug approved for treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and narcol...

IS THERE A RITALIN WITH A900 ON IT YELLOW OR PEACH TONED ## According to the U.S. drug databases, the answer to this question would be no. While there are yellow Ritalin pills, their marking is completely different than this. (There are no peach colored Ritalin pills in the drug databases either). Furthermore, the imprint "A900" is not listed as being anything in the drug databases. Odds are that the pill you are describing is manufactured outside of the U.S. or possibly that the imprint was misread. I don't think this is an OTC medication either as I can't locate any related possibilities on google. If you're able to, I would consider taking the pill over to your local pharmacy and having it analyzed by their team to see if they can come up with anything. And as a l...

My job requires my presence, during 3-6 month/year- I'm living in Swiss, where i take Ritalin 30 mg LA, prescribed by ny Doc. There is a solution to get: or something safe to by there, Or i can take with me what i need (1 x 100 pls.), from Swiss? with a prenscription? Thanks a lot. Alf11 ## Does Ritalin LA 30 mg capsules come in white/tourquise? If not, does anyone know what this pill is in mgs. It has an imprint 120 120? ## @Alfcat65, With your prescription in hand, you should be able to take the medication you need through the airports without worrying. I would however suggest keeping the prescription in the same bag as the medication just to play it safe. Maybe even contact the airport ahead of time to be sure you don't have any problems with security when you arrive. They sh...

My son is 12 1/2 and weighs 105 pounds i was wondering what the top dose of Ritalin should be for him. His behavior is getting worse daily and I was wondering if his dose needed to be adjusted and if so what not to go past ## Sorry I can't help with dosage information except that, from my experience, i strongly recommend the Extended Release version (e.g., SR/Timed-release) which I think would help prevent addiction and/or continually increasing dosages as your child ages and gets bigger. I worry about this for kids because, in my experience, Ritalin is quite addictive (more so than Cylert was which was discontinued). However, doctors aren't necessarily going to keep your child on it. Taking one drug a day as opposed to 3-4 is much less habit forming. Whatever dosage, please try...

white capsule pill what is inside it ## This capsule is manufactured by Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and they list it as being a 20mgs Focalin capsule, so it is similar to, but not the same as Ritalin. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

ciba ## Sorry, you have not provided enough information. This drug is available in both name brand and generic versions. There are many generic manufacturers and each one of them will make a pill that looks different. There are no rules saying that pills with the same ingredient have to look the same! The size, color, shape and imprint will all vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The only relevant regulations from the FDA state that they must have unique imprints for identification purposes, but these will even differ by manufacturer and strength of the med. In order to identify your pill for you and tell you what it is, you need to provide the complete imprint from the pill, all letters, numbers and/or symbols that may be on it, as well as the color and shape. Then I can look it up...

I have information about Ritalin but has anyone had experience giving it to their child. My son is 7 and has just started taking Ritalin He complained about feeling different in his head and hearing sounds like screaming. I'm petrified, is this normal? ## I am an adult, and never took Ritalin as a youth so I can only speculate from my adult experience. Basically, Ritalin is a stimulant (not a methamphetamine), but it does increase Central Nervous System activity which can cause hallucinations at times. I wouldn't freak out at your son's symptoms unless they are continuously occurring (like every time he takes a tablet), and continue well after the adjustment phase (for me, 1-2 months). I am not saying that hearing screaming is normal, but it's kind of like putting on gla...

Why are the manufacturers allowed to put a specific medicine that is used by millions of children and their bodies are adjusted to the meds to be put on backorder across the United States? What are the parents supposed to do in order to handle their autistic children with ADHD because the manufacturers want to be less than efficient, thereby causing additional medical problems. ## I'm sorry that you're having a problem and I do understand your concern about your child, but in some cases, this isn't something that can be prevented. Even if the FDA and DEA tried to demand that it never happen, there is no way that could actually be guaranteed and it would most likely just scare more companies out of the prescription manufacturing business. The reason for this one is listed as ...

pot. changing ADD med./Adult ## I've been diagnosed with ADHD for several years now and and been on Adderall and Ritalin. I didn't think the Adderall was very effective so I switched but after a few months on the Ritalin I'm beginning to think it might be to intense for me. My friend is on Vyvanse and she says it's the best medication she's taken for ADHD, so I would just like to know your thoughts. ## Just to add some information or anyone else seeking… Any time you're trying to treat a medical condition, it can be a matter of trial and error to find a medication that works for the person, without causing unwanted problematic side effects. Some people get lucky with the first one they try, but there are others that may need to try several diffe...
