My son is 12 1/2 and weighs 105 pounds i was wondering what the top dose of Ritalin should be for him. His behavior is getting worse daily and I was wondering if his dose needed to be adjusted and if so what not to go past ## Sorry I can't help with dosage information except that, from my experience, i strongly recommend the Extended Release version (e.g., SR/Timed-release) which I think would help prevent addiction and/or continually increasing dosages as your child ages and gets bigger. I worry about this for kids because, in my experience, Ritalin is quite addictive (more so than Cylert was which was discontinued). However, doctors aren't necessarily going to keep your child on it. I have taken Ritalin for years for Narcolepsy. I just got a bottle of yellow pills with K 102 on them. Does anyone else take this brand? They are making me weak, extremely tired and I feel awful. I am wondering if the new pain management patch Fentanyl 100 mc I've started would interact with Ritalin 40 mg day I'm given for severe weakness due to my old and misdiagnosed CIDP - I was looking for a better pain relief option, (OxyContin 80OP 3 day would "poop out" after 3 years), so this patch appears to be working (fingers crossed), but after reading many horrid stories of OD upon misusing, I was afraid now of my Ritalin intake along with the patch - I couldn't find any warning posted against it. There are no proprietary guidelines for the way pills look in the pharmaceutical industry, thus there are tons of pills with that description, some are Ritalin, some aren't. ## I have a small, flat, oval shaped pill. It is scored on the same side of the imprint. One half above the scored line it is imprinted 301 or possibly 10E. On the other half below the scored line is a symbol that looks like an S with a diagonal line passing through the center, touching the end of the S's tails. I was told this is Methylin but it doesn't come as such in any pill identifier I've used. Does anyone what this is? Thanks a ton for your time. I sincerely appreciate it.

I was on Adderall XR 30 mg, 3X/day for a long time until all the generics came out with the ineffective fillers and they became ineffective. My doctor then switched me to Ritalin 20 mg, 3X/day. They did help to perk me up. I'm on a heavy dose of morphine thru an infusion pump for chronic pain for almost 10 years. I called the office to tell them about the side effects I was having: INTENSE sweating, ANGER, mood changes. I was told to reduce the script to 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 in the pm. This was a little too low so I take 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 in the pm. So far, this seems to be working well and the sweating has decreased almost 98%, anger is gone. The only thing I can guess on that is that since it is a stimulant, it can raise blood pressure and have other stimulating effects on the body. In the case of someone with glaucoma, the pressure balance in the eye is off and this may make it worse. It cannot be taken with MAOIs or within a few weeks of using them, because it can increase the plasma concentrations of those drugs, which could lead to toxic levels of them in the body. I have been on Adderall 30 mg BID for years but can only take the COR generic and in my area all we have is Barr. I had a very bad emotional recation to it. My doctor switched me last month to Ritalin 20mg BID. I feel tired and like I am on Xanax all the time. So now he is going to switch me to Dexedrine. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and Adrenal Fatigue. I take 5 20mg Ritalin in the morning. I also take 100mg. Of Topomax at night for prevention of migraines. I am exhausted ALL the time. The Ritalin barely keeps me awake till noon. I've tried both Provigil and Nuvigil and both made me tired. Adderal did the same as the Ritalin. Any ideas???
