Was forced to take risperdal Consta injections for 5 months after an adverse reaction to prednisone. I have lost my ability to feel joy, love and happiness. I also have cognitive and memory difficulties. Apathy, fatigue and social anxiety are still lingering, even though I have been off the drug for 6 months. Prior to this "treatment" I had never been suicidal, now I pray for God to take me in my sleep. Hi, ive been taking rispond for about the last ten years after changing from risperidal which i took for 4 years or so. I've more or less gotten used to the side effects but about three years ago I was diagnosed with FOCAL DYSTONIA. I'm being treated for it by botox inj's. 4 months ago i started taking the original risperdal instead of the generic and now i am fully functional and the dystonia is (for now) almost gone. The doctors ive consulted with cant or wont tell me if there is a connection and i would like that if anyone had or has the same experience wiil tell me so i would know for sure if i found a solution for the DYSTONIA i have which is apparently because of the medication im taking. Hi. I have been taking these two drugs for about 8yrs along with lexapro. Can these medications be stopped or weaned off of by the patient? Also, how does lamictal and/or risperdal work? ## You should not stop such medications, unless your doctor states that it is safe for you to do so. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, and weight changes. The length of time they may work for anyone is highly individualized, since we are all different, some people can take them successfully for years. Are you experiencing problems from taking them?

What are the side affects of Risperdal? My Dr has me on it for insomnia. He took me off Risperdal due to being drowsy during the day. Now I'm having withdrawal symptoms. My sister was just put on this drug... She is bi-polar and in a comatose state, not eating, sleeping, ect...Are these possible side effects? She was also put on Latuda. ## Risperdal is well known to cause severe sedation, according to the FDA and my own experience, when my ex-husband was put on it. All he did was sleep, it was horrible. And yes, the Latuda can also cause similar side effects, according to NIH reports. Has her doctor been consulted? Her doses might be too high.

I am bipolar 2 or so they say. I have been taking epiec 200 and rispadol. I have lost the will to live without the depression of course and i have become an angry horrible person that no one can be around. I have shakes in the head and tiredness that is so not me. is there any harm if i stop my son,s dosage on risper after 3 days ? he is 23 ## According to an internet search, yes, it can be harmful to stop taking the medicine quickly even though he's only been taking it for 3 days. Talk to his doctor about taking him off of it if you don't think that it's helping, but NEVER just stop taking this kind of medication. ## Give half the dose and if OK for three days stop it but take it as needed after that. The main issue is the reason it was given, it is an antipsychotic also use for impulsivity/anger issues.

Can somebody tell me all the side affects of risperlet I use 0,25mg at nite and works so well for my bipolar condition. I used epilim before and had severe side affects which I don't have any on risperlet the correct dose if I use 0,5mg I get drowsy in the morning so ill stick with 0,25mg works perfect and I feel well everyday without loosing my mind when shopping at super markets I also don't have sweaty hands and feet anymore which used to go into panic attacks thank God I've finaly got the right medication and dose to. a drug for ADHD/Bipolar ## Rispidol is a scary drug that no one should take. They tried to push it on me for Depression. The doctors won't tell you the more severe side effects unless you lean on them, then they'll say it's rare. It made me feel like a zombie. More severe effects include: NEUROLEPTIC MALIGNANT SYNDROME which causes paralysis, seizure, and death: THERE IS NO KNOWN TREATMENT OR CURE.
