Having cramps in my legs in the day time and as I sleep what can I do? ## RLS and leg cramping are 2 different things. RLS constitutes the uncontrollable urge to move your legs, mainly while sleeping and not just cramping. If you're just experiencing cramping, then there is most likely an underlying cause, such as being deficient in Potassium and adding a supplement can help, but it shouldn't be done without your doctors approval. Learn more Potassium details here. Another thing that may cause it is dehydration. Have you been more active than usual? ## I have it in my arms and legs, Oxycodone does zap it! Gone 5 mg but I'm so afraid of addiction, I'm thinking of asking for Medical marihuana see can't even spell that word..plus lack of sleep Because I'm afraid of ...

I have RLS and it's getting worse. I was taking .25 mg. 3x Day along with gabapentin. I still take gabapentin. My neurologis had me try Requip 2 mg at bedtime but my ins. co. won't cover it. He has now prescribed carbidopa Levo to take one at bedtime. I've done this for two nights and have not slept a skidget! Also, the RLS is in full bloom even after taking this. Maybe because I'm awake? RLS isn't fatal but my goodness it's enough to drive me to drink. Is there a connection? What would be the next medication? ## I don't know if this will help you but it sure has helped many people with RLS. It is dark healthy chocolate with very high antioxidant levels, low sugar, low fat. The pure unprocessed cacao in this has other health benefits as well. It is absolutely...

I have been taking mirapex for about 6 years for restless legs - just within the past week I was given samples of mirapex er - so far I have not been able to sleep for the second night in a row - legs are very jumpy ## Is it the same dosage as the one you have already been on? The ER stands for Extended Release, this means that the amount of medication in the tablet is slowly released over a certain period of time, rather than all at once. This means, that if they are the same dosage, you might not be getting enough of the medication, at once, to control your symptoms. Have you reported this to your doctor, yet? ## Mirapex ER is not approved for treatment of RLS. I would recommend calling your Dr and getting back on the regular Mirapex ## I had to change from mirapex .50 mg to extended ...

I have severe RLS now, I have detoxed from Pramipexole (dopamine) over the past 5 weeks with support from my GP. The detox was horrific and the hardest thing I've ever had the go through in my 64 years. Now I'm taking 500mg Gabepentin and 1mg Tramadol. This combination has given me the first nights sleep in 5 weeks. I dont have pain so why do I require Tramadol? I'm scared to take the Tramadol away in case I lose my sleep pattern after going through hell and no sleep during the detox. I belong to RLS forums which give me wonderful support and I'd like some feedback about the two combination dugs that I'm on now. I'm very cautious and wary about getting too dependent on Tramadol. thank you. ## Hello, Katy! How are you? Only your doctor can give you the specific re...

Have had restless legs and arms for years. Take 2 mg of require daily but it's not enough. Tried 600 mg of gabapentin a day that didn't work. Now trying carbidopa-levodopa with the requip. Anybody else get this to work? Also have severe sleep apnea with clap and anemia. ## Requip not require ## Hello, Ritz! How is the new combination working for you? You may experience some common side effects, such as nausea, hypotension, hair loss and auditory hallucinations. ## Have you looked into Iron deficiency? I just started 300 mg gabapentin to see if my periodic limb movement disorder will improve. Just 2 nights in and have had some anxiety open waking. Have you found any relief? I know Iron is a big connection to restless legs but not sure about the testing you need for it. I think yo...

I've moved from 15mg to 30mg and although the sleepiness subsided quite quickly after beginning the 15mg, the restless legs I have got since taking the 30mg is not subsiding and driving me insane. As advised I take the tablet at night, go to bed as per usual shattered and looking forward to sleep, only to find I am kept up for a minimum of three hours by restless legs. Is there anything I can take to reduce the effect of the restless legs - painkillers etc, that is safe to take alongside Miratazapine???

I need meds for restless legs and fibromyalgia!!! I take 60mg of Cymbalta 1x a day and Lortab 7.50/300mg every 4hrs... I also take Baclofen 10mg for a neck injury when it gets bad but not every day. Nothing helps with the restless legs. Help!!! ## Cymbalta is horrible for Rls it's probably what's trigging it for u, probably should try a different antidepressant ## Cymbalta is probably making it worse. The opioid should help.... ## This may sound silly but I took Andrew Lessman Circulation & Vein Support for Healthy Legs. It helped within a week. It has 600 mg of Diosmin in it. You cam buy it at his website or at HSN. ## My Dr. put me on Carbidopa/Levadopa years ago. (Sinemet). Works wonders. I have had RLS for as long as I can remember (33yr old female). However it only affected me once maybe twice a month and only ever at night for a few hours and was associated with physical fatigue or alcohol sessions (which were few and far between) and was controlled by taking a cold and flu nighttime tablet. Just over a month ago I collapsed at home with DVT and subsequent bilateral Pulmonary embolisms. In hospital I was on twice daily clexane inj's. and then discharged with Xarelto. Once I completed my script of oxynorm for the pain and it was out of my body my RLS has been unbearable...24/7, I cant get to sleep before 5-7am in the morning (when I suspect the Xarelto has worn off and due to take the next dose). This has been happening for 2 weeks straight, sitting on the floor ro...

both my husband and I suffer from rls , any ideas to alleviate this problem ## Have you consulted your doctor(s)? There are medications that can help alleviate the symptoms, such as Ropinirole, but I am not sure what is available to you there. Learn more: ## Hi there. I have suffered RLS for over 13 years. its important to read as much up to date research. If you google Dr Paul Earley at John Hopkins Medical centre in USA you will find many links to help you. I belong to RLSSUCKS support group. It is fairly well known now that all dopamine drugs will at some time or other cause you more problems (augmentation). Do everything naturally that you possibly can. Get iron and magnesium blood evaluations. The iron levels are important and need to be over 100. Always ask people who know what it...

Has there been any studies or anecdotal information on Contrave and Restless Leg Syndrome? ## Hello Walt, According to the NIH restless leg syndrome is not an adverse reaction that is associated with this drug, however that does not mean that it's impossible for it to be the root cause. According to the report given by the FDA only 3 individuals out of 2,778 reported restless syndrome as a condition they noticed after taking contrave. Are there any other medications that you are taking in addition to the contrave? ## Since taking contrave, my severe rls is much improved!

I've been prescribed to take Carb/Levo for restless leg syndrome. Does anyone have experience using it for this purpose and what were results? ## I don't know how old your question is, but my mother has taken it for at least 10 years with no side effects. It provides her great relief. Once in awhile it won't be effective enough, but she gets by on those nights. ## I've been taking carb/levo for restless leg syndrome for a couple years. I started taking one tablet, 10 mg.- 100 mg and about a year later took 1 1/2 tablets. I take Oxycodone 5 mg 3 times daily , any better ideas? Is this addictive or will it harm me more? I have PAD and angio 2 times. Ache so bad I never sleep. Been on current med 2 years. ## Oxycodone is a narcotic opiate, so yes, it does have the potential of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. There are risks associated with taking any medication, there's no way to avoid that. It's really a matter of finding which one works best for you, without causing you a lot of problems or side effects. What other treatment options have you tried? ## See a Neurologist and IF your dx is RLS ASK about MIRAPEX OR MIRAPEX ER. Get off the opiates asap,
