Some three years ago, I woke up to discover that my chest was tight and had difficulty in breathing. I consulted a Doctor who diagnosed the problem to be COPD. He thereafter placed me on Tedral SA. When I started using the drug I discovered that my genital organ shrank and could not urinate freely as I used to. I then stopped the used of the drug for a day and I discovered that I could urinate freely again. When I complained to the Doctor about this he told me that he had never heard about such complaints before and that there was no substitute he prescribed for me that I should continue to use it. Each time I used the drug it was the same side effects that I experienced. Later he gave me some other drugs and transferred me to another consultant who is a respiratory specialist. I later ...

I started Butrans 10 mg last Friday. On the following Monday I started to feel dizzy and nausous. Then by Thursday I was dizzy nausous and felt like I was having a hard time breathing. Took the patch off and did not put another one on. I am still feeling dizzy and nausous but I can breathe now!! How long will the dizziness and sick feeling last. I was only on it a week!! ## Hello, Debi! How are you doing? Are you feeling any better? It may take a few days, before the side effects completely wear off and you start to feel more normal. Due to the breathing issue, you most likely did the right thing by taking it off, because it can cause respiratory depression which has the potential of being dangerous. Have you contacted your doctor? You should check with them to be sure that all is well.

My dog who is 13 was prescribed Tussigon for a cough. He has a collapsed trachea. The drug made him very sick and he struggled to breathe. He needed emergency treatment and oxygen. It cost big bucks. Was this a mistake on the vets part? ## I am not familiar with veterinary medications or procedures, so I cannot say whether or not any of this information is correct, however, here goes.... If the Tussigon used for dogs contains the same ingredient as that used for humans then it contains Hydrocodone, a narcotic that is often used to help treat coughing. The problem that I see is that since it is a narcotic, it can also cause respiratory depression, meaning if someone or an animal has trouble breathing, there is a chance it could worsen it. Now, I can't say this was a veterinary mistak...

How are you? I am sorry that you are having such a problem. But no, I've never heard of such a thing occurring from any medication.
