Is there a difference between the ingredients in oxycodone and oxycontin. I have been taking oxycodone30mg. for several years and my doctor changed my meds to oxycontin 60mg and the oxycontin broke me out in hives and made me feel like I couldn't breath. I had to go to emergency room to get help and even after this the doctor said I will get used to it if I continue with it. I'm really scared to take anymore. Please respond. Thank You. Lila. PS. I don't have email, can I use someone elses to get a response from you? ## Hello, Lila! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem you had. I'm not a doctor, but I disagree with what yours said, because what I do know is that such severe reactions usually tend to get worse, with repeated exposure to the allergen, not...

I HAVE BEEN ON METFORMIN 500 MG ER SINCE JAN. 15TH. MY LAST BLOOD TEST IN JAN. SHOWED MY GLUCOSE LEVEL WAS BORDERLINE FOR DIABETES SO MY PHYSICIAN PRESCIBED THIS TO SEE IF IT HELPS MY GLUCOSE LEVELS. I REPEATED A B/T LAST WEEK (5 WKS. LATER) TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES IN MY BLOOD LEVEL AND AM AWAITING THE RESULTS FROM MY DOCTOR. BEING VERY CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING THIS DISEASE, I WAS CURIOUS WHETHER THIS MEDICATION CAN HELP WITH MY RECENT WEIGHT LOSS OF CLOSE TO 7 LBS. SINCE STARTING, WHICH IS GREAT AND WONDERED WITH THE BORDERLINE B/T EARLIER, I HAVE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS CUT OUT PRACTICALLY ALL SUGAR (INC. I am having recurrent bacterial vaginosis. What medications are available over the counter that I can take? ## Hello, Sam! How are you doing? Sorry about the BV issues. There are no oral antibiotics available over the counter. They all require a doctor's prescription. If you've already tried one or more antibiotics and it is still recurring, it's likely that they weren't the right ones to eradicate your bacteria, or you are being repeatedly exposed to the same bacteria. Have you consulted a gynecologist?

I have cirrosis and hep c. My doctor has put me on a 12 week course of Harvoni. I finish my treatment in 3 days and then am off for my blood test. The results of my first blood test show significant improvement. I read a lot of other people's experiences who have been on this treatment. A lot I've read say after there 1st blood test (4 weeks on treatment ) that they have already been cured. I'm feeling quite down that my results don't show this for me. While deciding my treatment, my doctor kept changing his mind of the length of time to be on treatment (12 weeks or 24 weeks).he decided on 12 weeks in the end. He's accidentally given me 1 extra repeat. My 12 weeks is up in a few days and I'm thinking of getting it, so I'll be on it for 16 weeks and not tell h...

I am itching all over from a reaction to Bactrim DS. Can I take a Percocet with it? How does it interact? ## Percocet will not do anything to stop the itching. It is an opiate narcotic that is used to alleviate pain. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. As to the itching, you might be allergic to the Bactrim DS, so it would be best to see your doctor and have this checked out. Such allergies tend to worsen with repeated exposure, so you may need to switch to a different antibiotic. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

i am constantly having to urinate how can i control this problem ## HI, John! Sorry about the problem you're having. However, the first part of finding a solution would be discovering what's causing it. Are you on any medications? Have you increased your fluid intake recently, or changed the type of stuff you drink? Are you prone to urinary infections? Is your urine dark, bloody or pussy?

Took my BP this morning at 10:00 am, was128/63. At 7:34 pm, 141/70, took one Losartan 25mg. And checked at 9:50pm, 147/74. No exercise, no drinking. I have neglected the last few days to take the Losartan 25mg pill. Blood pressure was good 127-130 with 65-70-73. Only recently started on Losartan. Should I be increased to 50mg ## Hello, Joe! How are you? Before you increase your dose, you need to take it consistently for about 4 to 5 weeks to see how well this dose is going to work for you, which means no skipping doses. It is normal for your blood pressure to fluctuate throughout the day, depending on what you've eaten, activity levels and etc. Even anxiety or worrying about your blood pressure can cause changes in the readings. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibl...

Hello, I have a problem of repeated periods on the 11th day after completion of my normal period cycle. I was having the same problem before 2 months and my dr. prescribed me Nevlon tablets after which i got normal periods during that time, but again after completion of the course i am facing the same problem. What would be the reason and possible solution for it? ## How long did you take the contraceptive tablets? Sometimes they need to be taken for several months, before they can help restore your normal hormonal balance to stop such bleeding. My friend was put on morphine for severe pain 5 months ago but she can get it on a repeat and is now better, is this normal practice? ## It really depends on the laws where you live and the practices of the doctor involved. For instance, in the U.S. and Canada, no, you'd have to see your doctor at least once a month and get a new prescription each time. However, this does not apply everywhere. How can it be that I am repeatedly refused medication from all the pharmacies when I go in with my prescription from the doctor I have been seeing for three years? I am at the end of my rope, I had a fusion and was told I was fine but pain never went away! Finally when I could get no one to listen I started going to ER! It was finally determined that my fusion had failed and the screws were broken in my neck! After many attempts to try and get someone to remove the screws, I learned it could leave me a quadriplegic! I have lived like this for some time now and have other issues with my lower back now as well, I am assuming from steroids that I took for an autoimmune. I had hoped a surgeon would be able to give e some relief by doing some surgery on my lower back based on my MRI ... but ...

should a momen have to use this medication repeatedly for 6 months- Nitrofur 50 ## What has her doctor advised? Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic, it is most commonly used to treat urinary tract infections. If she is getting infections that frequently, or if it's the same one and the medication isn't clearing it up, her doctor should be running tests and trying a different antibiotic. If it's a UTI, she should also be taking her own preventative measures, such as making sure she drinks lots of water, avoiding tub baths and taking in probiotics. ## I have been taking omeprazole cr 40mg for 4 months.due to occuring uti my urologist put me on nitrofur mac 50mg is it ok to take both? thank you ## Lynn, I'm not finding any interactions or problems listed with using Nitrofuranto...

Is ther any cumulative effect from Cialis? Does repeated use lead to a "cure" or the need for less Cialis? ## No, not that I am aware of, or has ever been reported in the medication information. Cialis contains the active ingredient Tadalafil and it works by increasing blood flow, which is why it can also cause low blood pressure. Therefore, it is possible to find a 'cure' per se, if you use other medications that increase blood flow, or if it increased via exercise and a healthier diet. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Husband had testicular cancer, fine before actually amazing before,DR.will not give him testosterone cuz of it stimulating cancer. Is the Medihaler-Iso (Isoproterenol Sulfate) Inhalation Aerosol Asthma medication still available or has it been discontinued? I've tried most of the others and they really don't work. You really have to do too many repeat dosages to get relief and even then, it's not complete relief. Know what I'm taking about? Have any good suggestions? ## It is still available, though it is rarely used, since other treatments have been proven more effective, so it may be difficult to find a pharmacy that carries it. What you may need to do is ask if one can order it in for you. Which others have you tried?

I was recently put on a high dosage (50mg) of Prednisone a day. I was to stay on this dosage for three days, then cut it in half for three days, and then repeat until I was, by the fifteenth day, completely off the medication. Unfortunately, when my doctor prescribed me Prednisone, she momentarily forgot about psych history. On the fifth day of me taking Prednisone, I had a psychosis episode, and came to the realisation that my chaotic moods, and the sudden extreme bouts of depression and lack of concentration, had been a side effect of the medication. After speaking with my doctor, we dropped the dosage right down to 5mg and I was on that for four days before stopping completely, which was five days ago. The problem is, my moods are still not back to normal, and neither is my ability t...

I took 2 pills in one day and the dosing instructions state that I should take 1 dose and repeat in 3 days. I took one the night before. Please advise. ## While only 2 pills should not cause any overdose dangers, except in certain rare cases, such as being allergic to it, or it interacting with other medications, you should always double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. Additionally, your doctor may want to prescribe another dose to be taken at a later date. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. How are you feeling? Did you experience any issues?
