i do not think the op version of oxycontin are working.they seem to go through me without digestion.i have literally seen them in the toilet up to 6 hours after ive taken them so im not getting relief from the pain. are the old version ones still made and provided to pharmecies? ## No, the old ones are no longer available. However, it is normal to find the tablet shell of these time released Oxycontin OP in your stool, later. However, it is just the shell, the medication is slowly released from it. As to the problem with them not working, there have been many complaints about this, as well. You can contact both Purdue Pharma and the FDA to let them know of your complaints, the more people that do so, the more attention they will pay to the problem. I was receiving Oxycontin 80mg OC, but then they changed it to the reformulated Oxycontin 80mg OP. I never had a problem with the old version BUT now i get right side cramping. Is this because new version is not made properly? ## every 1 that gets the new oc should complain so much they hav to go back to the old 1s ## I am NOT getting the same pain relief with these new pills. And I've noted a change in 'digestion' issues. Is the gummy junk in these little hockey puck pills clogging up our insides? ## reformulatated oxycontin has something very wrong with it it makes me feel like i want to hurt myself or others very aggitated frustratecrying snaping at everyone i have been on this a very long time never felt like this until taking the reformulated oxycontin. does anyone elsf...

how to verify your medication is the real reformulated oxycontin pill. Is the OP a bigger pill than the OC? ## There have been a few comments that it is slightly bigger than the originals and the marking should tell you what it is. If it has an OP on one side and the dosage number on the opposite, then it is the new Oxycontin OP. Side effects are supposed to remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. 'K. I'll try 2nd report about my personal experience and need for any help to find a Class Action Sit against Purdue and all invoved in the mistreatment of Chronic Pain Patients who have been prescribed the reformulated oxicontin OP. Some of my history of treatment for my Chronic Pain. I have suferred since 1980's : was prescribed Vicodin until I could no longer tolerate tylenol and was referred to the "Pain aClinic in my HMO. I was prescribed 80mg of Oxycontin and 5mg Oxycodone for break through pain. The intake Physician said that if I needed more to contact him. I was told at the time that Oxycontin/codone was entirely safe for the treatment of pain without the damagiing effects to the body. I was given injections to try to releive the pain but eventually I was told t...

Do the new ones have same effects? ## In theory they should, but just like when Oxycontin was reformulated, there have been people who have complained and said they do not work as well as they used to. The only thing you can really do is try them and see how well they work for you. Are there any questions or comments? ## Thank You for your honesty and I hope they work because 1400.00 is alot of money to put out on something that doesnt work but every1 is different and I would ask doctor to write a 1 week script and see but he is on vacation and has already has by scripts wrote and for me to come and sign for them this month so I am stuck, but Thank You and if you hear of somehing else that is as good as the opana 40mg then please let me know because I was on the oxycotin 80 mg and didnt...

is there a way to take out the filler ## No, the new Oxycontin OP has been specifically designed to prevent people from doing just that. They are trying to curtail abuse of the medication. It is, however, still supposed to work the same and can cause the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Do you have any other questions? ## the new reformulated drug oxycontin op does not have the same effects and pain relief that the oxycontin oc brand has.what should i do?I am on oxycontin 80 oc mg. ## Its not reformulated . And its the same molecular structure as the o.c. you were probably abusing the o.c. which made them into instant release. ## Verwon, the questioner specified OC, NOT OP. The answer is that if you want a SOLUTION which will be instantly available to t...

I am wondering if there is a manufacturer of oxycontin other then purdue? I am taking oxycontin 80 mlgm, and purdue has changed the medication, and it does not work for me with what they have done to it. ## Actavis is a manufacturer of generic Oxycontin, my insurance will only pay for generic. They have not reformulated. ## I am not sure what is going on with the generic Oxycontin, Sometimes they are available and others not. If you are in reference to the inability to misuse the new OP/80 there are always a way and Purdue Pharma knows this and so does the FDA. My suggestion is take them in the proper manner. ## a few years back a company did make generic oxycontin and they were just as good as perdue's. they were pink instead of green. anyway perdue sued them for making them just a...

I hope everyone will reply to my post. I 'am like thousand of good people who live in pain every minute of the day. And now since Purdue the makers of Oxycontin has reformulated the OC to OP we all suffer. I like all has called Purdue with my concerns not only a complaint on how this new Oxycontin does not work and its side effects. What I will do if I have enough people to respond is to set up a FACEBOOK page were people can add his or her story about how the OP do not work, what side affects he or she is having. Also where everyone can boycott any medication that Purdue sells. When at the Pharmacy ask the Pharmacist to give you another brand of medication not one made by Purdue. Trust me there are many other drug companies who make the same day to day medication we take. From bloo...

Im perscribed OC 40 mg. with the OP on the market the OC became the generic Oxycodone 40 mg. The question is there is Oxycontin 40 mg in capsules. Basicly is that equal to the Oxycodone 40 without the buffer in it ## There is no generic for Oxycontin, both the one with the OC and the one with the OP marking are made by Purdue, they just reformulated to help prevent abuse and discontinued manufacturing the original that had the OC marking. Oxycontin contains Oxycodone in a time released formulation. As to the other formulations, no, there is none available in a 40mg dosage. The immediate release capsule is only available in a 5mg dosage and the regular release tablets are only available in a maximum dosage of 30mgs. Is there anything else I can help with?

yellow round pill, writing on one side 40, OP on the other side ## round pill 40 on one side and OP on other side and its yellow. is this an oxycontin generic? ## i have the same thing and wtf is it? ## They have reformulated oxycontin to make it less likely to be abused. It is more difficult to chew or crush and can not be injected by abusers. So it is a oxycontin 40 mg that is tamper resistant ## i have the same thing only the substance will not show up in a data base from poison controll and does not give you the high ## do they still make real ocor just the ones that have the op on them? ## OP is the replacement oxycontin. Purdue lab makes them (thats where the P comes from). Purdue started making the OC imprinted oxycontin first. They are the name brands. The OP are REPLACING the O...

I recently was told by my pharmacist that oxycontin8o mg.O.C. was no longer available thru Perdue. Perdue reformulated the medication and noe has O.P. instead of O.C>on the pill. This new formulation is very upsetting to my stomach. Please advise. ## There are a few pharmacies that still have the original product available, but this will only be until their supplies run out. Your pharmacist is correct, Purdue has changed the formulation and is no longer making the original product. There have been many complaints that it does not work as well as the original and about it causing unusual side effects. Since you are experiencing more nausea, you should report this to both Purdue and the FDA. You can do so at the following phone numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication ...

Hi, I have been suffering in pain for years. The reformulated oxycontin does not seem to work as well as the old ones. I am prescribed 10mg tablets. In Australia there is now Sandoz generic oxycontin. I would like to try to see if it works better like the old ones. My question is does anyone know a pharmacy in Melbourne Australia that stocks Sandoz generic oxycontin? ## Hello jonsey from Melbourne. Any pharmacy can order the Sandoz generic Oxycontin for you, you just have to have the correct script. They do come in a 10mg dose. Your doctor, when writing the script, has to make sure NOT to put a 'tick' in the box that says 'no brand substitution permitted' so you will be able to obtain the generic brand, otherwise you will automatically be given the reformulation. Doesn't relieve pain. ## Opana was recently reformulated to help prevent abuse and, unfortunately, just as when this was done with OxyContin, it has turned out to not be as effective in some people that use it and, in some cases, to cause odd side effects. Have you contacted your doctor? You may need to switch to a different medication.

the new reformulatedoxicodone 40 mg ones do not work and have bad side effects. ## I take it you are referring to the time released formulation Oxycontin? We've had many complaints about them not working as well as the old formulation and causing bad/unusual side effects. However, I'm sorry to inform you that there are no longer any generic versions of it on the market. The name brand Oxycontin is the only one that is now available. Having several on the market from various manufacturers made it harder to keep track of the supply and increased the risk of theft and diversion. There are generics available of the regular release formulation, which would be Roxicodone, but not for the time released. Is there anything else I can help with?

It's a pink small round pill with op on one side and 20 on the other side ## This is the new replacement for the Oxycontin 20 mg. The color is an exact match for the OC 20, but the new pills are noticeably thicker. This thing has the consistency of candle wax. ## That is correct, it is the new Oxycotnin OP. They have been reformulated to help prevent abuse of the medication. They cannot be crushed and broken down, they retain their time released properties. Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. How can I get my Dr. to understand I've built a tolerance to pain meds. Same dosage for 2 yrs . 80mgs of oxycontin and 30mgs of opana daily . I have severe osteoarthritis bursitis and fibromyaliga. Dr. says that's the maxi he can give me. Should I look for another pain Dr.?? ## What is the difference in the old oxycontin and the new?? How can I tell which I have? ## Gigi4121! How are you? The new Oxycontin tablets were reformulated to help make them more abuse proof and the old ones are no longer being manufactured, so it is fairly safe to say that if you've gotten them filled within the past year, you have the new tablets. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an...

I have been taking Opana er 40mg for over a year. My last refill was April 12, i was given a round pill with 40 on one side and E on the back. I am in constant pain!
