I'm asking does the purple promathine with codeine have red dye in it ## Hello, Marie! How are you? What manufacturer is listed on the label? I need that information in order to check the inactive ingredients for you. Can you please post back and clarify? Thanks! This contains a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone know of cough syrup with codeine and guaifenesin (like Cheratussin ac) that is either dye-free or does not have red dye #40? My father has an allergy to red dye #40... Thanks! ## What I'd suggest doing is going to a compounding pharmacy. They are specially prepared to handle such problems and mix up the needed medications in the dosages ordered, or without certain ingredients that someone may be allergic to. They may require confirmation of the allergy from his doctor and it is usually more expensive, but would be well worth it to avoid an allergic reaction. Learn more Guaifenesin details here and you can learn more Codeine details here. Since this does contain Codeine, it has the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry...

I've been taking Methadone for over 10 years. Recently I've noticed some days it tastes like the Methadone red and some days tastes like a cherry flavored cough syrup (e.g. Tussionex)? Could the nurses be tampering with my medication? I'm sick of all the clinic's B.S. ......In Philadelphia...A.M.H.A. ## Is it still working for you, regardless of the flavor? If so, then I doubt anyone is tampering with it. They may just use different flavoring sometimes. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? I know not everyone receives red Methadone liquids.

I just got cheratussin ac and it is very very light pink almost clear, Is this the right color? I am asking because it is not making me drowsy and is not helping my cough very much. ## Cheratussin AC - Syrup contains Codeine (10 mg) + Guaifenesin (100 mg) per 5 mL. As far as I'm concerned, if your label is similar to the one in the link below, then it is supposed to be a very light reddish pink color: NOTE: You may have to scroll down the page to see the label. As you can see, they put "red #40" in the inactive ingredient list. Whether or not the color matches is one thing, but if it doesn't work for you then you need to consider contacting your doctor or pharmacy about stronger forms of this medication. It sounds to me like you might need something double that strength ...

does cheratussin look niqrathin, or like a syrup ## Cheratussin ac has a thick liquid viscosity. A possible comparison is that it's thinner and runs quicker than maple syrup but thicker than fruit juice. That's the best analogy I can put together for it. If you happen to stop by your local pharmacy, just pick up a bottle of Robitussin cough syrup and it's pretty much the same consistency. The inactive ingredients in Cheratussin AC contain: alcohol, caramel, citric acid, FD&C red #40, flavor, glycerin, menthol racemic, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium benzoate, sorbitol solution ....So it will likely be a light reddish pink color, judging from the Red dye they put in it. You can view the packaging label of Cheratussin AC by following the link below: I hope this in...
