I live in Houston, Texas am disabled and taking qualitest generic narco 10/325 mg for over 20 years. New generic is Mallinkrt and it is making me sick. Current pharmacy does not carry qualitest. Is the yellow dye in the Qualitest hydrocodone tablets tartrazine, aka FD & C yellow # 5? Many people, myself included, are highly sensitive to this dye. Lots of manufacturers still use it, for unknown reasons. But some have switched to an iron compound for the yellow color (who needs it?!). What is the difference between qualitest brand Hydrocodone/Acet 10/325 with a V on one side and 36 01 on the other side of this yellow pill, as opposed to Mallinckrodt white pill with the same strength? The Mallinckrodt pills give me lots of bad side effects and do not help my pain as well as the Qualitest ones do. ## I also got my yellow 10/325's switched to the Mallinckrodt white by RiteAid. I've been on pain management for many years due to chronic pain from degenerative arthritis and fibromyalgia. Taking 10/325 Qualitest/Par that worked for pain with no side effects. Helping to live a quality life. Last month I was given Lupin white 10/325. Terrible side effects. Borderline migraines, anxiety, tightness, little pain relief, lack of hunger and crying in pain in the night. Called many pharmacies to try and find the yellow Norco meds that work, no luck. I live in Whittier CA and have been on Norco's since 2008. I have always had the yellow by qualitest and now they have vanished. CVS quit carrying them and went with a white oblong by Milkroft (or something like that) and they gave me the worst migraine!! Walgreens carries white Watson. I have been prescribed Qualitest yellow 10/325 Norco for over a year now for my Fibromyalgia and only take one pill at night which has helped my pain level tremendously. Qualitest is the only manufacturer that has worked for me as I have tried a few others they just upset my stomach and give me headaches. I just recently picked up my new prescription and something is VERY wrong with this new prescription. Normally I don't have any side effects but this batch, my stomach hurts when I take them and they just give me a massive headache. I have absolutely no pain relief like I always have in the past. What is the difference in the white oblong pill with m367 and the yellow with a V and 3601? ## The only difference between these two tablets is that they are manufactured by different companies. The one with the M marking is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and the one with the V is manufactured by Vintage/Qualitest. My wife's Vicodin are different this time. Yellow, oblong, but it definately says 35 01, not 36 01, and there is a V on the other side. Are these still 10/325's? ## As strange as it sounds, there is no Vicodin marked V 35 01, only V 36 01; which are the 325 mg / 10 mg. Unless "V 35 01" is a completely new pill that just came out, I'm a bit stumped on this one. Regardless of the possible misprint, the "V" suggests that these were manufactured by Vintage Pharmaceuticals (now known as Qualitest). Qualitest's hydrocodone/apap 10/325 V 36 01 makes me itch & causing head and ear congestion. ## Sometimes the fillers in these pills can cause allergic reactions, such as that which you mentioned in your description. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may agree with one medication over the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. Have you considered contacting your doctor or pharmacy about switching brand names or manufacturers? I have been taking Norco for pain management & I cant find any pharmacies in the Grapevine, TX 76051 area to get the 10/325. Hi: I have been taking 36 01 v generic norco by Qualitest for a couple years now, due to a long list of pain issues. Since the Fed Law has been changed and I can no longer get refills on my prescription, I was also informed by my pharmacy they no longer carry the yellow 36 01 v and wanted to give me ip110. I finally found a pharmacy that had 70 of the yellow and gave me 20 of the white ip110. I find the white ip110 does not work well at all. I felt them a little faster but they are not as string and wear off very quickly, unless I double up on it. Why have all pharmacies stopped carrying the yellow 36 01 v?
