Son now 35 yrs. took accutane as a teenager. When he was in his late 20's he developed gout. His purine levels were very high. After several yrs of trying to control his levels he recently began taking alpurinol. Can lvasa increase risk or cause Gout??? ## From what I am reading, the purines that are present in some types of fish, which can worsen or cause gout should not be in the purified fish oil that it is the supplements, so it should not be a problem to use them. Has your doctor advised you to do so?
