Saw my GP on Friday with a tight chest and breathing discomfort. I have history of pulmonary embolsm. Have flu symptoms as well. Was nebulized with oxygen, prescribed betamox and mybulen and cough syrup to clear chest. I have horrific headaches and nausea. Could it be because of overdosing on betamox?? Instructions says 3 tabs 3x day (500mg). ## It is very hard to actually overdose on an antibiotic, in most cases, according to the U.S. FDA, you will just experience more intense side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea. So yes, the headaches and nausea could be due to the antibiotic. How long will you be taking it?

I was given Amiodarone as a precaution June of last year after open heart surgery. Even after two personal visits each (the heart surgeon and the attending pulmonary doctor). I made it very clear to each of them not to give me any medication that could affect my asthma. I started having serious breathing issues within three days of my surgery that became progressively worse. I complained daily and begged for Prednisone which they refused to give me. I had stopped this poisonous drug after five weeks, but the damage was done. Amiodarone can stay in the cells of your body for several months continuously doing damage to your lungs and more. It ruined my life! ## Hello, Ken! How are you doing? I am very sorry about what you've been through, that's terrible. Unfortunately, when presc...

Learn more pneumonia details here. If the infection isn't present any longer, then another round of antibiotics isn't going to do you any good. Have you talked to your doctor about these issues?

I have been on xarelto for 9 months for a PE i never had. I just seen a pulmonologist today and he said I didn't have a PE and I should stop taking them. I am very upset with my doctor and everyone that has taken care of me. My question is should I be worried about stopping them abruptly? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? There should be no reason to worry, since you've been given the all clear. As reported by the FDA, there may be some rebound blood thickening. Thus, it is best to check with your doctor first to make be sure whether or not there is a special procedure they want you to follow for stopping it. It's always better to extra cautious, when it comes to such things. How did you end up being diagnosed with a PE? ## Had some shortness of breath and a bad cough. Went to s...

in my chest xray results hearts are within normal limits in size nodular infiltrates are noted in the right upper lobe. rest of the lung are clear. impression : chronic inflammatory lung disease compatible with ptb my doctor suggested to undergo sputum test which is acid fast bacilli but the result is negative.. Does i have an active ptb? ## In my previous xray result the finding is Left lobe minimal fibrosis. Then, i go to pulmo specialist and advice me for another xray. The result is chronic inflammatory lung disease compatible with ptb. But i do not undergo for sputum test, is it really 100% that i have TB even without sputum test? Is it xray is enough to say that i have TB?

I had paralysis of left vocal cord after having a thyroidectomy. I had hoarseness and shortness of breath, which is common with the paralysis. I have since had vocal cord medialization with injection. I still have hoarseness and the shortness of breath is now worse than ever. ENT kind of brushed it aside and told me I should see a Pulmonologist to make sure Asthma is under control. For the last week shortness of breath has been REALLY bad. Saw Pulmonologist today ALL clear with my lungs. I am scheduled for a Pulmonary Function Test, so I can take results to ENT to show him at my next visit. Anyone who can relate? I am SO frustrated!
